Jan you made me LOL this morning. :D :D :D
Me too!! I could just picture 111 potholders laying all over her kitchen.
That's one of the reasons, I hope a new group starts. I've done the first 2 blocks, was looking at the blocks last night. This project will test my skill. How many quilters were in the first group? After all the work, will anyone be gifting their quilt? Hopefully, I will finish it a keep it as a family heirloom

No the FWS CD is not stand alone. You need EQ to use it. The DJ CD is stand alone.

Not quite true because I don't have EQ and I've done all 111 blocks. I believe you have to buy a separate CD to use with EQ. The CD with the book has all the templates individually, but if you go the the FWSQ site you can download the free templates which are sorted by the block. http://www.thefarmerswifequilt.com/T...rrections.html

I too have the book and cd. I have been getting my fabric together..I think being in a group would be fun. I have always quilted by myself. So glad I joined.

Now, that made me giggle...I could sooooo hear myself saying that!

I don't have EQ and I am using the CD that comes with the book with no problems. Also, the CD with the book is both Windows and Mac compatible.

Well just like anything else I've ever done I'm gonna just jump right in & get my feet wet! Bought my book, pulled fabrics from my stash, printed out at 100% the first couple block templates and converted for PP to tracing paper. So with 52wks in a year and 111 blocks to do.......if I do 2 a wk it will only take me 55 1/2 wks! Thats just a little over a year! Hmmmmmmm very doable! LOL Maybe I'll get real energetic & shave some time off that year by a 1/4, 1/3, or maybe even in 1/2! We shall see, WISH ME LUCK!

PS: Welcome to any other newcomers that want to jump in with me! Going to start with the original Block 1 & 2 threads, see yah there!

I have everything and by reading the QB know that I need to starch, sew a scant 1/4 and I have all of Honchey's rotary cutting directions for each block downloaded and ready to go. But I am going to wait till a group starts, or the first of the year. So many Christmas gifts need finishing up first. See ya in 2012, Do check out Honchey's rotary cutting - I find I am better with that than the templates from the CD - wish I had known before, I had printed and filed them all and had started cutting the templates.
