Default The FWS 30's Quiltalong Week 43 Block 85 Primrose & Block 86 Priscilla

Hi Everyone, I did it again

I have Priscilla printed out..Primrose reminds me of a Flock of Birds in a previous quiltalong and will not be doing this one...
I'm sure there will be some blocks done from you?

QNS both of your blocks are pretty. I also like that rose fabric. I have some rose fabric similar to that.

Believe it or not I have started my Priscilla. I should have it finished later this evening. I decided to do the one that looked like the quickest to finish since I am so far behind.

I really do prefer calling these blocks our little gems, because of some that have a gazillion pieces that when done makes me just sit back looking at it.

JanRN I had just posted, and suddenly yours popped up. lol...
Your blocks are wonderful. Two more very pretty batik gems. I don't know which block colors I like best.

To me Primrose had to be a Rose with thorns, of course! Iowa canoe has a turtle cove in the center if you look close... Trying to do Ruby and feel real good about finishing all the blocks and no more projects from this lady author or compiler! They are alll copied from somewhere that is no where close to machine quilting. Her photos do not agree with the pp layout, and her templates are numbered and lettered but Lord help you try to figure out which piece goes Where? Her block picture needs the letters on it also...and the pp needs to match what it says. So happy for you'alls help or I would never have finished one....and we are closing on the thrid one! Wow. I think I might have been crazy to attempt it in the first place!

Jan and NinaSue, your blocks are gorgeous. Love Nina's fabrics and the batiks Jan used. I just love the way 'birds in flight' looks. Will probably start mine tonight.

Nina, I really hemmed & hawed about doing it this time around but...when I saw the layout & the fabrics I knew I would do it..well almost..I love to make blocks & tops...I will not do another Hird quiltalong...I will be doing the Gypsy Wife sometime this year..I have my strips cut & several of the blocks done..I forgot to bring the pattern with me..I would also like to do either a fan or dresden using repros..I have alot of repros that will need to be used up..

Jan love your blocks..so nice & sharp.

Ok, here are mine. It's not midnight yet so I'm still on time!

Primrose took forever with all those tiny pieces, but it's really a cool block. Using her templates for PP, I had to cut down the center diagonal piece or it would have made my block come out too big. I thought that was strange... another error?

then Priscilla seemed to go together in a snap, following Primrose! I think I'm going to lose some points when I put these together, as Priscilla came out a big large too and had to be trimmed.
