Default The FWS Pony Club Quilt-Along Wk 22 Handy Andy & Hen and Her Chicks Discussion Page

Hi Everyone, Week 22 is here and I did notice the there's been alot of activity here...I wish I lived closer to you gals so I too could enjoy all the fresh fruits & veggies being picked. I have a single peach tree that has 94 peaches on them and now I have to cover the tree cause the deer and squirrels eat them.... Again, I don't have any completed blocks this week...I DO have them cut out and almost ready to sew...I seem to be having a hard time picking out fabric for them and the next thing I know it's another week and nothing to show for it...It's like I've got a mental block of some sort....Hopefully the bug will bite me and I'll get over to the machine...H.

It is one stitch at a time, like the first step is the start of a journey...or task. Did not think I would get down to my blocks this week, but started yesterday and Handy Andy kept changing on me...taking most of the day...of the free time I had. Hen and chickens had me digging into my stash, repeatedly, to get the colors acceptable today. dh helped with lunch, so that saved me some time.

Spent last Friday in a lovely cabin by Lake Rathburn at Honey Creek, visiting a friend until their family could arrive. Of course the guys went fishing...caught couple small channel cat and blue gill. The family is having a wonderful time at the lake, they are staying through next Saturday, enjoying their time together with their kids, grandkids and great grand kids. So happy for her. If her dh does not go to Bahamas next fall, she has offered to take me...guess I had better get my passport. Told her I would never fit in a two piece swim suit.

I've been under the weather the past couple days so nothing's getting done! Hopefully tomorrow brings a new and better day!

Anne, I'm glad things are getting better for you. Things are the same here but I'm trying to get back on some type of schedule. Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts and prayers. You are my "therapy"-cheaper than drugs and safer than booze.
I apologize again for being an absentee participant but hope to get back into the fold/campfire this week.

Hello All! I am out in the clubhouse getting ready to choose/cut fabrics for this week's blocks. I had to make a scrapbook page for my mom that took longer than I thought it would. Oh well--it's done now and I can sew. I started new med yesterday for my back pain (going on and off since the end of March) so am a little out of sorts today! Hope to have pictures to post tonight...

Anne and Jan - hope things improve for you soon. So sorry for all the trials and tribulations. That is life I'm afraid, and we have all been there!!!

Carrie, sorry to hear about your back problems. That has to be real hard on you. Hope the new meds work out, sometimes they take some time to start working.

Carriem so sorry to hear of your back problems, I also have major back problems but so far I have been able to get by without medication, fingers crossed it continues.
I have good news from this side of the world, my 30 year old DS has just bought his first home, had to wait for a few legal issues to be sorted out but everything is in place and he will take possession in 2 weeks. Now I am going to miss him terribly (he is only moving 3 streets away) BUT I get to move my sewing stuff into his double bedroom and I won't have to share my sewing stuff with my DD's bed which made life a little cramped. I haven't discussed with DH yet but he will be painting the room for me and I get 3 huge cupboards which take up one whole wall.
There is only one down side and that is it could take him a month to move out completely, we have to go furniture shopping and everything else shopping as he doesn't have anything so that is going to be fun, he hates shopping and DD and I are going to give him a whole day of retail therapy

Thanks for your thoughts on my back issues...the meds seem to be working. I have already tried physical therapy and chiropractic. Side-effects are no fun and I was too tired to sew this afternoon, but that is ok I will have time on Saturday too to get out to the clubhouse.

Hope everyone else is feeling better by today!!

Since I got home from Texas on Monday I've basically spent the week in recovery mode. I did do the week's blocks and sew the binding on the next two gift quilts. I'm finishing them by hand and have one of them about 1/3 done. When I saw that the FWQ links were active again, I was challenged to take pictures and post what I have done. The pictures aren't always good quality because of my lighting and I don't have sashing on all of them but this will keep me moving on the quilt if only a little at a time. I used Marti Michell's cutting guide so what I have done doesn't follow by week. Here's the baby quilt I finished last month that will be for my DH's first great grandchild. What a great colorful baby quilt, gardnergal! The baby will enjoy looking at that, for sure!
