Anne & Mirab, beautiful blocks. Anne, I think your colors look bright and cheery. Mirab, "sigh", yours are so soft and pretty. Love the quilt top. Wow-you have been super busy!

I see some Iowa blues in the RR block, but really love the fabrics in HB--great contrast.
Jan your blocks are very different colors, but equally beautiful. The turquoise and complementary fabrics made for a gorgeous block. The FC farm scenes put a new spin on this block.
Honchey Such appropriate fabrics for the RR block--well thought out. But how do you get your blocks to look so straight and crisp as in HB? Simply awesome.
mbelle--stars are perfect proportions for the RRC. The red paisley is almost as pretty as any of your blue blocks. Another "sigh" at your delightful blocks. Thanks for sharing your quilt--blue border sets off the whole quilt. Lovely--waiting to see your lavender/purples rendition.

Starch....I press them into submission... I starch and press my fabric for the most part stiff...I press each seam and section as i go along...After sewing 2 swctions together I press the seam flat on both sides...then press from the top(right side) butting the seam with the side of the iron both ways. then press the paper side no steam at this point...press the seam open or to the side.. whichever way it lays flatter..then flip it over and press again..then I trim the block to the size needed...I purposely leave extra seam allowance on the section's seam this way when I press there's enough fabric to open to really flatten it..I trim it after the outside edge is trimmed..

Mirabelle - your blocks are always done so beautifully. And your DD quilt is beautiful. I love what you did with the borders! Now we want to see progress on your quilt. Are you and DD going to do Bonnie's next mystery quilt? The fabric requirements are suppose to be out in late October/early November I heard.

Mirabelle...I can't wait to see your finished PC quilt. You've been so faithful to your fabric choice so you will have such a different look. Very classy I suspect. I also am looking forward to the purple Jamestown quilt.
Yup..Iowa blue. That piece has become a favorite of mine.

Jeanie your HB reminds me of deer hoofprints in and amongst the horseshoes. Great colors in the RRC!

Oksewglad, some places in Iowa, the deer have a disease...too thick, not enough hunting and thinning down the herds. I think they need to let homesteaders hunt more 'cause they fed them deer.

Love your blocks, Jeanie. I see that my camera is related to yours...but I am sure your blocks are straight and blocks are perfect, unlike mine. Love the color in your blocks.

Well, my railroad crossing is not the greatest. I resewed that center seam three times and it still would not match up for me. What gives.....I pinned that sucker and sewed slow, but it still would not match perfectly! Oh well, I'll be darned if I'll take it apart and try again - three times is enough! It will stay unmatched!

I was not remarking on the unmatched, but the part the camera cut off in my picture of what I am seeing, JeanieG. You do a great job on the blocks..really...my one eye looks at things a bit off, so sorry if I gave you wrong impression of what I was seeing...rr block was cut off on my right side as I looked at the picture...like I do with my camera and my blocks.
