Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful year!

I am having my family over today for soup (making 2 different ones). It is the 8th anniversary of my stepson's passing. He had Muscular Dystrophy and passed away at the age of 36. His life expectancy was 24, so he did pretty good. He lived at home until he was 32, then we placed him in a nursing home. My husband took care of him until then, but was afraid he would drop him, or hurt himself lifting him in and out of his wheelchair. Damon was a very intelligent young man, and had a great sense of humor. We all miss him so much.

I have Step 6 of the Bonnie Hunter mystery to do, but I have almost half of the pieces cut and until next Friday to get them done. An easy step. I just love doing her mysteries, and this one has been very slow paced, not as labor intensive as some I have done.

Jeanie, I'm so sorry for your loss. It's wonderful your family gathers to remember him every year. I'm sure it was very hard to lose him.

I'm still thinking Bonnie Hunter is going to have some sort of New Year's Day surprise for us tomorrow... Maybe a bonus clue or the big reveal? The past two years she revealed on NYD, but this year I don't think we are ready.

Wishing all of you a peaceful and reflective New Year's Eve, and a great 2017 full of health and happiness.

Well I didn't get the sewing studio ordered. Te people that ya have to order it from don't work weekends. Whoever heard of a Loews employee not working weekends? Will have to stop into Lowes on my way to Midland. DH can follow me there, then he can come back to Brady once it is ordered.

Jeanie, sorry about your loss. Good luck with your dinner today. Happy New Year to all. We will have black eyed peas and spinach greens for lunch plus 12 green grapes each...one for each month's good luck in 2017. Did you get Bh new number 7 clues this morning? Gotta go look at what I have saved to see if I have them all up to it later. It is on my bucket list to do...later.

Still trying to get UFOs caught up. Finally got mad at my Hibiscus S&W and put it all up for awhile. Outside border not matching the next row of ribbon border and cannot figure it out....later. Many other choices to work on now.

A ton of paper work (green sitting chair is full) to go through and figure out how to file them then where to put them...not feeling any smarter about them today: a) where to store them b) how to file what is important c) how much can I throw away. It seems to grow larger in amount the more I ignore it. LOL...imagine that!

QNS, All this paper in our lives! I can identify with piles of it growing. How nice it must have been in earlier times to be without it.
dublb, I don't think I'll ever get my sewing studio ordered. :-)
janRN, lol funny pic!
SBG, waiting to hear from your doctor, thinking of you...

Ah paper...every time we get a feed delivery there is the mix sheet, the antibiotic listing whether there is antibiotics in the feed or not , and the pricing sheet. TMR protein is delivered 2x a month, heifer feed and steer mixing a couple times each...nursery calf usually just once...that 10 to 15 sheets a month. Milk check (2x a month) info now on 2 pages...that's just the tip of the iceberg...phone bill is 3 pages long....I routinely write 25 to 35 checks a month for farming and personal business...yes QNS we are in such a paper muddle...

House is quiet...kids had a grand time sledding..even the teens...saw the New Year in, and then crashed..fixed bacon and French toast for breakfast...DD out the door shortly after 10:00...now to wash bedding etc...but that can wait..May go and sew ...have Monday off so will work on EOY bookwork and sort my piles of paper...

Happy New Year everyone!

Spending a quiet day just cooking and playing with some stamps.
Things have quieted down here at home a bit and I'm trying to keep the peace...

I'm trying to figure out a time when we can go to NC...

Hoping all of you have had a wonderful and peaceful Holiday..Anne

It didn't work
