I am happy to know that JeanieG met up with you, Dublb. Sounds like a wonderful time together in Texas.

Sigh, I am still so far behind financially, I still cannot ship those packed boxes of fabric to you all. And very little left for Christmas, but all the bills are paid and we have freezers full of good food and our propane tank is full. So I feel like we are well blessed. Our health insurance with Texas Teacher Retirement still requires the big deductible for each of us, no raises in retirement $ for the last 13 years... its beginning to get to hit our dimes harder since its not keeping up with the cost of living. With Texas economics going strong, it would be so nice to get a big raise.

Continue to make progress on the Red , white and blue BS quilt, making the blocks up. Have finished 5 blocks almost. Yesterday was spend fixing an error in my computer. NEMR man Jason finally figured it out and fixed it. Whew! He is good, but that problem was a tough one to fix.

Temperatures are warming up today. Happy day!

Remember #1DSon? The one that is in medical school? Last year he worked on the weekends to help supplement his wife's income while he is in school. Well he has been asked to write a blog.

This first story is a tear jerker. I have always said that he is a story teller & I think this story is proof.

That is a great story, Bev. He's going to be great in health care, because he certainly has the compassion for it.

Wow Bev. You raised a GOOD one. If I remember right he got a late start in his studies, he matured and is really getting it now. I wish him well.

I didn't do much sewing yesterday. DD came over & used my iron to press a sash that DGD needs for her costume. Her play is Fri & Sat night. I don't think we are gonna go as both plays are at night & Mike doesn't like to drive at night. Fredricksburg is a bit far to be driving when ya are a bit night blind. (No he won't let me drive.)
After lunch Mike wanted to empty the soil outta the pots that the tomatoes used to grow in. I reminded him of the low place, in the lot, that is by the driveway. I have been filling it w/rocks off & on since we have been here. There is no room, for any more rocks & it is ready for soil to be added. There were actually 2 of these low places when we got the house. I have already filled up the other one. Anyway we dumped 3 of those big pots of soil in the low place & smoothed it out. We also watered it down. I do think it will settle down between the rocks over the winter. I bet it takes a year for the grass to fill in.
