Thanks for the picture, Jeanie. Looks like two blondes on a F A R T. LOL! Hope you don't find the part of California on fire in your return home. Sounds like you had a great three months on the road. What was your favorite area, and did you get to MSQC and see Jenny Doan?

OH what a grand time we had. Ya can see some of the shops we went to behind us. The big building that is right behind us is the Nimitz museum. Jeanie & her husband went there. I plan on taking my DGK's there next summer. Nimitz was born in Fredricksburg.

Brady is about to go through an economic bust. The biggest employers here in Brady are the Sand Plants. Well the 2 biggest sand plants are closing. While my DSonIL does work for one of the one's that is closing, he has been informed that they are keeping him. He will program from home. They will also have him traveling. I know that they have sand plants in Kermit TX, Oklahoma, Wisconsin & Kentucky. I don't think that's all though. He's already spent some time in Kermit & Oklahoma.

Well darn, I had all this stuff already to post, and I don't know what I hit, but it all disappeared! Grrrr!

Bev and I had a great time talking a mile a minute and checking out all the quilty stuff in Fredericksburg. I am humbled by the fact that Bev drove 1 1/2 hours to meet up with me!

QNS - We did go to Hamilton, but I did not see Jenny Doan. I bought some wonderful flannel for a baby quilt.

One of the California fires started on one of our hillsides. Thankfully no structures were taken and it was put out fairly quickly. The Santa Ana Winds are fierce and they are a common occurrence in the Fall. The fires in the Malibu area and Paradise were much worse. A friend I worked with who lived in Paradise lost her home. She has moved to Idaho.

I think the favorite part of our trip was Washington DC. OMG - those Smithsonian Museums are awesome. We originally signed up for 5 days at the Cherry Hill RV Park, but extended it for 2 more days. The RV Park had a bus stop right at the park that took you to the Metro. The Metro took you to DC, then a short 3 block walk took you to the Circulator Bus that was free for 2 hours if you rode the Metro. You could get off and on as much as you wanted. It really takes quite a long time to go through the museums. I think our favorite was the new Indian Museum - it was awesome.

JeanieG, I'm glad you had a safe trip, and it sounds like it was wonderful to see so many places and things in the US!

Cyril, Welcome to QB! We haven't all finished our FWS quilts, or our PC quilts, so you are welcome to jump in and post what you are sewing. I think a lot of us get distracted by other various projects-- I know I do. :-p

Bev and NinaSue...I can't read your replies...must be part of yesterday's QB problems.

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving..even when times are tough there is still much to be grateful for.

Getting ready for work and then have 13 at the table tonight...lasagna and green been casserole in the fridge. Take care all and count your blessings.
