Great news on line today. Ok, that pillow case looks terrific and love the boots that complete the picture. The quilt is no bad to look at either. Great job the girls did on both. Weather her is turning hot, its county fair time.

Carrie, I found enough chicken wire fabric in my stash for two or three quilts. Thanks for the offer of more. What exciting news to go abroad with your son's win in archery. Hope passports are in order, ready to go.

We traded up for new smart phones yesterday; they have already made us feel very stupid. US Cellular did not transfer all our names and numbers, so we have to do it by hand, manually into the phones. They just might get them back! Company coming; the vintage quilt might get its binding done. Too hot to go outside.

Sue, you will love your smart phones once you get the hang of them! They are actually little computers with a phone feature.... I love the GPS on mine. So great for getting around while traveling. And all the music you can store on your phone, and the pictures! My phone has a better built in camera than any separate camera I’ve ever had. And wherever you are, you can look up things online.

My hubby isn’t tech saavy at all, but he recently learned what Safari was for, and was amazed. He’s had his IPhone for about three years, learning it little by little.

SBG--the massage was Great! You never quite know what you will get when it is a student (the last one I had didn't do what I asked), but yesterday's lady kept good pressure and focused on the spots that needed it. I even rescheduled with her for when we return from our next trip.

QNS--Unfortunately finances won't allow for me to go to Spain with my son, but I will for sure be watching the online scoring no matter the time difference! We do both have our passports up to date however so he is all set to go.

Carrie, that sounds like good news and bad news. Good he gets to go and bad news that you cannot go too.

Yesterday, a miracle happened. My cousins that are visiting took me on a road trip into the last day of the All Iowa Quilt Shop, always in the month of June. We seen two Freedom Rocks and John Wayne's boyhood home along the way. Found several things to bring home with me from the five quilt shops and ate at the Amana Colony in Iowa. Heritage Designs is always wonderful to see and shop and Fern Designs is always 'bright' in beautiful colors. Pictures later, I am behind in reading emails, etc., love company but this younger set is hard to keep up with...happy sigh.

She taught me to use my phone camera when we got back. Slowly learning more about it. There might be hope!

There is a shortage of sewing machine repair people in Central TX. I am hoping to fill that shortage. I plan on 2 days a week going to a quilt shop & working all day. I already have the LQS in Brownwood offering to have me come twice a month. I haven't talked to the LQS here in Brady yet however I know that they have a guy that comes from Austin. I bet they will appreciate me coming regularly even if it is just to pick up machines, work on 'em, & bring 'em back. Maybe they will let me come & work on machines once a week. That will leave me with one other LQS to let me come once every 2 weeks. I like the shop in Fredricksburg. I haven't ever been to either of the 2 LQS's in Llano. Brownwood, LLano, & Fredricksburg are about an hour away.

What type of training will you be receiving? On machines in general? Mechanical or computer? A specific brand? You will have learned a valuable skill!

There's so many things one can do with the camera..QNS. I have one friend that takes pictures of fabric choices in black and white to see if she has the right values (of light and dark) in her selection. I'm lucky to get a picture taken, but it is very easy once you learn how and remember to!

I am also taking the advanced class OK, so I think that I will be able to do some of the computer machines along w/the mechanical machines. I will also have all the digital books to look up whatever I don't remember. Eventually I'd like to have 'em in hard copies.
