Actually they are posing in front of the giant tree in the lobby of the Peabody Hotel in Memphis. We went for the lighting ceremony.

Wow, SBG, your granddaughters have grown up! No longer tiny little girls, and your dresses will look lovely on them. No mystery for New Year's Day in my mailing list, and that is good news. I started on the Bonnie Hill and then realized I had made everything too large. Good news is that they will cut down, whereas if it was too small I have to throw them away.

Back to DM week after next to get DH eyes lasered since a film is now behind his artificial lens. Thank goodness, I registered with a driving service, and we don't have to drive. I miss seeing OK and Carrie online. since Ok and her husband have retired, they must be traveling. Best wishes to all in the Holiday Season and Happy New Year.

I know! They look huge to me, too. Ivy weighs just over 19 lbs now... enough to make my back and arms ache when I hold her a lot. They are both so much fun at every stage. Millie is crawling so nothing is safe.

I am still here! I stop by and lurk for a few minutes before I move on to other things.
QNS, I would love it if MrOK and I would do a little traveling to see all the Grands...but MrOK is still working on the farm...even though retired! Been a long fall with rain and nasty weather. Crops are out and this week the manure pit was emptied except for the sludge with Farmer Son and he have been hauling out using the skid steer and manure spreader.

I have a couple of customer projects I've been busy on...one must be done by Tuesday. Plus I'm on guild program committee and we are working on our Christmas party plans for Monday night. So I have a few irons in the fire. Early this week I was up north "teen" sitting while folks were on separate business trips...doesn't happen often, but was nice to spend some time with just the kids. Sunday MrOK leaves for a business trip to Ohio so I will be home alone, but it's LQS 10th anniversary party so will be working 4 days. Something going on every day. And I'm still trying to make sense of my sewing room move...almost there, but not quite. Got the old SR painted before I moved the bed in so that room and 2 closets I've been working on are under control...just the last closet that I am rearranging and have several catch all boxes to sort through. On the bright side, I have emptied containers mostly through better organization.

Oh such cute kiddos and more little dresses for them..lovely

I take a pass on BH's and other sewalongs. I've learned that I have a hard time sticking to it and making the time commitment to one project. Which is why the PC and FW are still in limbo.

Hope you are feeling better givio...Like QNS says, one day at a time. Time to enjoy my popcorn while I watch the news.

I too am here...I try to remember to check in every few days but don't get my email reminders so sometimes it is longer than I realize! I didn't do much sewing in November, but am trying to make up for that this month. I finished the binding on a quilt for my daughter...she had one side done and it was just killing me to see it so close to finished. She's been so busy working 25-30hrs/wk and going to school 20hr/wk that she hasn't done any sewing since either late Sept. I got two bindings on quilts that I was hired to finish (my friend makes the tops, hires the quilting out and then I bind). I got a Curved Log Cabin quilt sandwiched yesterday (KT fabrics). I hope to start quilting it this weekend, but for sure on Monday since that will be a day home. This is a UFO from at least 2 1/2yrs ago possibly 3? My goal is to have it done before Christmas for a new quilt on the day bed in our living room. I also need to get more of the towel/scarves made before next Wednesday because I want to deliver 3 of them for gifts. I gave some to family at Thanksgiving and another friend and everyone seems very excited to try them out. I am making them with yardage instead of the jelly roll strips now because they cost a little less and go together much quicker.

My husband had his back surgery Oct 31st, was off a week, then just worked half days the next two weeks. He is doing pretty good as far as being healed up from the incision....but he has what is called "drop foot" in his right foot and can't lift his toes. It could get better but more than likely there is irreparable nerve damage.

Also during that time my dad (66) was in the hospital for 9-10 days, so I spent some time at the hospital with him too. Dad is living with my sister and she is getting him to appts and they let me know when they need some help. He is having double vision still so can't drive. (He went to ER with very high blood pressure and they said he was lucky to even be alive...the high b/p is what caused the dbl vision according to the ophthalmologist.)

My MIL (81) has had a lot of appts the last couple weeks and I am her driver/pay attention person for those. 2 more next week and 1 the week after that then we are done until after the first of the year!! Seems like those 3, 4, and 6 month check ups always catch up to each other.

My daughter had her graduation from LaJames International College this week...she still has a few hours left and has to take her boards, then she will officially be a Nail Technician. Then in the spring she is going back for Esthetics (facials, waxing, make-up, etc) and plans to work in a spa. Spas are more likely to hire you if you are dual-licensed.

So...there's a little update on my life. Sounds like others are pretty busy too.

, I'm so glad to hear from all of ya'll. My life has been busy also. I got that Aria put together on Thurs & did the test stitches yesterday. It runs like a dream. I am so relived. I do wish I didn't over think things. I do wish I had finished it before I went to Brownwood on Wed. Oh well. If I head that way other than on Monday (the LQS is closed on Mon & Tues) I'll take it. But right now it looks like Monday is gonna be the only day I go up that way. I am scheduled to go on the 17th.
#1DGS had to go to the Dr yesterday & he has Pink Eye. Sigh.

Carrie, its good to hear from you. Beginning to understand how busy you are and how blessed you are to have family who needs you. Many are alone in this world and Christmas season is hard on them. Yes, you are busy, but in a good way giving back to those who love you and you love them, that makes the world a better place for all. I marvel at the Quited twins.com stories of making so many charity quilts in Florida and Warsaw, Poland. They compare life styles and experiences and I have learned so much from their stories. We are so blessed in this country.

Dublb, it does seem that pink eye is showing up in many places. Less we go to town, the less we pick up on things like that. Love retirement, really don't care to travel anymore and db doesn't like to drive long distances. So we agree and honor each other.

Have cut pieces for BH clues one and two. Now to make the sewing machine hum along today, if I can. DH does not feel good, like the flu bug was biting all night long! He has my sympathy but I don't want to have it, too.

carriem, Your dad is 66-- I didn't know you were so young! :-)

Yes, you girls are busy, that's for sure! I echo what QNS says-- it's so good to have family to love and be loved by. :-) OK's farm news is always interesting to me, brings me away from the city while I read it.

I'll watch for your BHMQ update, QNS. Cutting is half the battle, the sewing always seems to go quicker.

dublb, another victory over a sewing machine! Are you sewing something this holiday season?

I am working on pillowcases still.
