I ran into 3 PC blocks that after I quilted them were too small to even fudge them enough to be 8 inches square in the quilt. Overnight I remembered a class project that I hadn't started so yes, I allowed myself to be completely distracted yesterday and went to work on it. It's the ocean wave pattern done scrappy with blues and whites. I did enough half square triangles to see how my fabrics worked and now I will use the rest for headers and Enders. I still need a couple more blue on white to have enough squares and good balance. Now back to quilting PC blocks but I'm not pushing to get it done this year.
Dubib...I used the new quilt with the wool batting last night and loved it. I could notice a difference right away.
carrie...I've seen the QAYG method you use and will try it someday on something really scrappy where I don't have to worry about what I'm using for backing.
Jan...have you shoveled out yet? We didn't get much snow at all but there was some freezing rain mixed in so the roads were slick. I'm going to venture out later today and get a few groceries. My DH loves fresh fruit!
mirabelle...you will love your design wall. Mine it not freestanding. I don't have an inch of free floor space!

Yes, dh loves fresh veggies, so I did a run to the store today...picked up my prescription for bp shopped at our local Hy-Vee Food Store which offers 'gas' savings with certain foods....should have been credited with 27 cents per gallon gas off pump price, but ticket says just 23 cents off per gallon at Casey's...so will deal with that next time. Picked up the black-eyed peas and green spinach and kale for New Year's Day lunch...for good luck and better financial status all year.

Actual temperture today was up to 33 degrees, so water was running on some hills coming home.

GG, I keep looking at the Ocean wave, thinking that would be a great project; love blue.

Sounds like everyone is busy. Ggal, I had a few of those blocks, too, luckily I had some others I could substitute. I was moving right along on PC quilt. All the rows are sewn together and I started to plan my border. I'm using a 4" border with a bunch of 4" blocks scattered around it. OKSewglad & I found out EQ7 will not let you "scatter" (it's as anal as I usually am). I got out my trusty graph paper, measured, drew, colored, and finally came up with the arrangement I want. As I was falling asleep last night, it hit me: I forgot the inner border!! Grrrr-now none of the measurements will work. I'll attach them today and get the graph paper back out and start over plotting the outer borders. Talk about a major senior blonde moment!! I think I'll go shovel snow (got another 7" this morning--another grrr.)

Hello All !!!
I've been having intermittent computer problems, so have not been around so much.
Plus, getting caught up after the Christmas marathon sewing ... I've actually cleaned, tidied and did some re-organizing in my sewing room.
Fr♥sty got finished at midnight Christmas Eve. No wonder, Santa did not find my home!
And the housecoat has now had it's post-gifting finishes done.

Started two new threads this morning ... including more pics of Fr♥sty than I posted earlier ........

Snow ... I didn't get quite so much snow as many of the rest of you. Only about 3". There's a really fine snow coming down , and I know from other times, that despite it's looks, it adds up fast. So we'll see what happens today! I'm thankful to not be in Quebec with the volumes they got!!

JanRN ... been there, done that, have the T-shirt! The good thing is that you had the aha moment sooner, rather than later ..... and after you'd cut your borders and started at it. How about a WIP pic?

Bs ... I'm starting this afternoon! Will do mine first as the test run ... and then onwards to all of yours! So any last requests and input would be greatly appreciated!

Woooohoooooo!!!!
I've got started at the Bonus Blocks

The first went together perfectly, and looked wonderful. I was pleased as punch!!!
.... then I realized, it needed that "flip".
Oh well, thankfully it was mine, and I'll add it to my Miniature PC !

So then, I was back to the drawing board.
Did another test run ... and then a "real" one!!
And now onwards!!!

QuiltE...I was beginning to think we would have to end the possee out after you when it was silent for so long after Christmas. I'm glad you got your computer problems fixed and have had time to putter in your sewing room. Sounds like you're into the fun stuff.
Jan...I do have other blocks picked out to use but I wish I had measured them that last time before I sewed them! Glad you got your borders figured out before Froggy paid a visit! We got another dusting of snow over the past couple of days but nothing like you've gotten. Glad you didn't lose your electricity.
Might get a little sewing in today but I'm thinking my DH might like to take a drive today. He needs to get out of the house!

Oh GGal ... no, not figured out or fixed. It just seemed it was very very bad and now it seems to be behaving! Now we'll probably jinx it all for discussing it! I know it's on it's last legs and needs replacing. The last time I had it into the techie, he said, next time to just get a new one. The good part will be that I will go all the way and get a colour printer when I bite the bullet!

Thanks for the Kimino pattern QuiltE...I needed a simple pattern other than rubbing the one I gave to DH 42 yrs ago...Yeah, I know it's old, worn out but it fits me perfectly!!!

BBblock I wanted to do is not working out well for me and I need to make adjustments or reconfigure it...sometimes I wish I didn't think of creating something that looks good in my mind but is way beyond my ability to do accomplish...

Jan, are you still digging out from the all the snow??? We didn't get any snow just rain & high winds this last go round...it's still very windy..
Progress on my PC has been very slow...I can't seem to find that perfect sashing...maybe I'll find the perfect charcoal in NC...we're leaving on Monday...I still have so much to do....

I guarantee you, it was simple Honchey ... you could do a Mr and Mrs set!
I was thinking this morning that it'd be nice too, with some cotton fabric lightly quilted to a flannelette, then make the kimono. Border and Bind it up, for a nice reversable one. The quilted fabric would give it a little more substance, but not a lot of bulk.

Whadya think? I won't be doing it for awhile, so I'll let one of you try it out and let me know!

Honchey, Oh poor you and your your BB! Though I know you are talented and have all the abilities to do what you want to do.

After my faux-pas last night, I was laughing at my stoooopidity!
I will give an insight about my BBs ... simplistic but with significance.
I hope everyone thinks it's appropriate when they get them.
'Nuff said, for now!

Now, QuiltE, after all those 'red' ribbons that's blue stateside, we expect you will gift us with perfect bonus blocks...just remember yours truly here, has never won a ribbon, so feel free to throw it out or whatever....mine have all been made to 'gift' them to others and have kept several for ourselves. More for the 3 kids to have 'discussion' about after we are both gone..who gets what??

Our snow is all going away, and its warming all the way up to 35 degrees today..wow. Heat wave.
