thanks, mirabelle, for the site and patterns. so many UFOs that need to be finished asap, so I will just put the patterns in the 'bucket' for later.

Good luck at Bingo, Honchey. Hope you win big.

Shopped at my LQS, picked up more Mary Ellen's starch unscented, of course. One strip away from finishing gs little wild baby animals that I designed...hoping to show it to the Shop owner tomorrow. Missed their sale after Christmas.

Dh is keeping his hens too happy; they sing to him when he comes into the poultry yard. With 21 laying hens, inspite of the cold weather, they lay from 18 to 21 eggs a day. Eating deviled eggs, egg salad, fried eggs, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, poached eggs, french fried toast, and they still fill up the refrigerator. can anyone PM me more suggestions that uses lots of eggs? Maybe a slow cooker recipe so I can quilt more...

Anael ... I think sometimes the medics forget that what is not a concern to them ... is hard for the patient and family to understand! Hang in there .... and quilt quilt quilt!!

Honchey ... I think we're going to have to do a special B-I-N-G-O project, just for you. So now, Tues and Thurs nights. And next thing, you'll find a daytime one. Then you'll be abandoning your quilting!! Glad you have landed ... and now are getting ready to start sewing your little ♥ out!

DDamsel ... I have visions of you sliding down the hills just like one of the kids. I'm honoured that you're sharing your barbed wire with me!! And of course, I have some blues for you too!

MiraB ... I still need to download those compass blocks. Thanks for the list, so I can be sure I have all!

QNSue ... hope you did get to the LQS today, even just to drool!! Eggs? I had that problem when I had hens too! You didn't mention custard, that's one of my favourites!! I know there are some crockpot egg recipes (strata like), but have never tried any of those recipes. Or how about any of the stratas and the like that you make ahead and then leave in the refrigerator til ready to cook? The leftovers are delicious heated up, which is good for quilting time. Oh just thought of another ... homemade lemon meringue pie, with yolks in the filling and of course the egg whites for the meringue.

QNSue ... just remembered another one ... Egg Muffins!
Basically it's omelette ingredients and then you bake it in muffin tins. Eat it right away or store in the frig or freezer and zap in the microwave when ready to eat. And bonus, you can eat it by hand ... so a good grab and go food.

For cakes ... there's always Angel Food Cake ... then a Sunshine Cake where you use the egg yolks.

If you want any of the recipes, just let me know and I'll send them your way!

QNS--my DH's suggestion is to "put out a sign and sell them"...he really likes fresh eggs so wishes you lived nearby. We saw on one of those "prepper" shows that you can rub oil (I think it was mineral oil) and they will keep 6 months or so in a cool, dry place...not that this will help you too much if they keep laying all year long, but thought I would share.

Anael - Huggs! There is nothin' more frustratin' than Dr.s.
DD - They wouldn't be you w/o the barbed wire.
Honchey - Have a great time at Bingo.
QNS - Try Egg Pie. Eggs, onions, & cheese all mixed tagether, then put in a pie pan & baked.

And there's even the Impossible Quiche ... where you toss the eggs and bisquick in the blender then pour it overtop of the mix-ins. And then the bisquick separates out to make a crust!

When I need to know anything "egg", I go straight to the hen and check out ......
http://www.getcracking.ca

How be we post some of our egg recipes?
After all, I'm sure we'd all like to get some new ideas ... and not just QNSue!

Here's a favourite of mine. It's like an omelette or quiche as far as ingredients, only that you bake in muffin cups. Because of that, it's easily eaten by hand. I like to keep a stash in the freezer for quick meals (great while quilting!!), snacks or as a grab and go food.

~~~~~~~
Egg Muffins
~~~~~~~

Beat together
12 eggs
1/2 cup milk
salt and pepper, to taste

Saute together as few or as many as you want/ have.
----onions, peppers, mushrooms, broccoli, cherry tomatoes, Canadian Bacon, celery, ham, etc. (basically anything that you'd add to an omelette)
Then add to egg mixture and mix well.

Add and mix
1/2 cup shredded cheddar (more or less, or optional)

Spray 12 cup muffin pan with no stick spray. (I use the Pampered Chef Stone for muffins.)
Fill with egg mixture. (I fill the muffin cups.)
Bake at about 350°-375°F for about 30 minutes.

The "muffins will "puff" up like a muffin and may settle some as they cool.
(They develop a bit of an outside skin or crust, to make them hand-eatable!!)

**Eat straight from the oven, or keep in frig or freezer and zap in micro.
**Depending on how many of the add-ins you have you may get more than the twelve muffins or you could pour the extra into a skillet and lunch is ready while the muffins bake.
**Can be made as appetizer-like mini muffins!!
