Mirabelle, yes I did receive your email. Thank you so much and I'm very sorry I didn't reply, I totally forgot with all that's going on here

QNS, I understand how it works! Thanks for the explanation! It's a neat solution to having a pile of books next to the bed like I have!

QuiltE, I think you're right about not allowing them. I wonder if they will allow a quilt in the room. I wanted to finish the Waiting Game and give it to my DDIL as she complained of cold feet today. I just might give it to her when it's finished and see what happens. As long as you can wear your own cloths I guess it's ok to use a quilt as well.

My DS has his 27th birthday tomorrow and we're celebrating in hospital so I have to get up early tomorrow. We're leaving at 9 am so I will go and try to get some sleep now.
CU all tomorrow

QNS I second your motion

Anael I knew that there was a lot going on and it may have slipped your mind, I just want to make sure you received it. Otherwise I would have sent again.
Wish your DS Happy Birthday from me....

♪♫♪ Happy Birthday tomorrow DSofAnael!! ♪♫♪

Anael ... Make the quilt and take it ... don't ask! Remember it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission. ITA that the quilt is no different than your DDIL having clothing in the room. Under the circumstances and her long term stay, hopes would be they would show come compassion and be a little more lenient than someone who is just there for a few days.

QNSue ... thanks for the extra info on the Pillow Pockets! Good plan to use flannelette as it would surely help make it stick!

QNS--I like the idea of the pillow pockets...thanks for sharing details on that.

Dublb--I hope you get much more sleep tonight! The last time I was up until 3am was at a retreat last March...then I was actually up until about 4 two nights in a row...won't be doing that again this year!!

Mirabelle--you do a great job on your quilts and don't let anyone fault you for the number finished in a year!! You are at a place in your life where you have the time and you use it wisely making quilts for family, friends, and charities...that is awesome!!

QE--thanks for the idea of the "zip pouch", but one thing I *don't do* is zippers! I had a couple bad experiences so I just avoid them by not making the pattern or altering it. Ggal actually recruited me to a retreat near her in Sept....if she wants to make the trip here she would be most welcome, as would any of you. We still have room for 6 more people (at least I think that was the last count).

No sewing today...it was an archery tournament day and then this afternoon we had some friends over for a late lunch. No new BBs....maybe Monday. Tonight I am working on figuring fabric requirements for an "airplane" quilt for DH's friend. Tomorrow afternoon I'll be cutting batting for Rosie and pinning layers for the QAYG...maybe even a little sewing too if time allows!

Here is the label I have been embroidering, they take a little more than an hour to stitch out and have over 18,000 stitches. I have made 4 in the past 2 days and more to make this week. I use whatever background fabric I have on hand.

Patches of Bluewater is the club I belong to and myself and another member do the labels for all the quilts we make and donate. I have probably made more than 60 since we started donating quilts.

CarrieM ... I guess I got it backwards about the September retreat! HOpe the kids did well again at archery.

DublB ... Have a great trip!

MiraB ... great quilt label and what a nice touch to the quilts that your group does. Are your Snuggle Quilts part of the group donations? Or something you do separately? I'm thinking separate! How sweltering hot is it in your part of Australia? I've been hearing about how horrible it's been for some!

My dear friends, my DS called at about 12.15 am, things didn't went well. We rushed to the hospital, the babies are born but they're so tiny. The little deceased boy, his name is Julian, was born at 1.32 am, Bram, his brother was born at 2.42 am and his sister, Lisa was born at about3.15 am. Lisa was born with caeserean. My DDIL was losing quite an amount of blood and Lisa wasn't doing well so my DDIL was rushed to the OR. We said our goodbyes to Julian, he's a real oh so tiny baby. And now we have to wait and hope Bram and Lisa will pull through. We didn't see Lisa yet as they were still working on her when we left. We were there when Bram was born (Linda's mom and I) and we were allowed to see him for a very short time while the doctors were working on him.
When Bram was born my DDIL said to my DS: here's your birthday present! My DS is having his 27th birthday today.
