Anael ... So glad that you were able to go to the hospital again today. So small. So precious!

DDamsel .. thanks! I wasn't thinking of the backing fabric when I was assembing as now it's pretty tight. Did find some "perfect" fabric in my stash today ... more of that rosy pink with teeny-tiny white hearts like polka-dots. Will see when I get it all pressed up if I think I can work with it that tight and get it all squared on there. Funny enough, today I too was thinking of a stripe for the binding ... the challenge to find one! Would be nice if I could find a blue/pink stripe! Dream on!!!

QNSue ... leave those men to their plumbing on Wednesday ... and disappear into your sewing room! Take a sandwich, put in your earplugs, lock the door, and enjoy your sanctuary of bliss!!!

CarrieM ... glad to see your Rosie progressing!! What did you use for your backing?

And drumroll!!!......... tonight I started back on PC blocks! Two are partly made.

QuiltE, what about no borders at all? Are you going to quilt it yourself?
I thought you finished your PC blocks Good for you to start back on them!

I'm not sure what I'm going to do today. I think I will make the February Carol Doak blocks, and maybe a Barbara Brackman block. I'm still one behind and last Saturday the new block was posted.

Would anyone like some rain, we had 3 inches yesterday and another 4 today up until 6 pm and it is still raining. The weather man says it is going to hang around until the weekend so I may have to reschedule the hire of the longarm at my LQS. I really don't like driving in the rain (and I live in the tropics where it rains a lot) but I don't want to be on the highway in torrential rain.
tomorrow will post a pic of my latest Out of the Darkness block, took me 3 days and a lot of hair pulling but I finished it. Only had 234 pieces in it.

Anael what are the Barbara Brackman blocks, don't think I have heard of them

Here's a link to the blog of Barbara Brackman. She did a Civil War Quilt BOW and started Grandmother's Choice right after that. I didn't do the Civil War Quilt but I'm doing the Grandmother's Choice BOW.

I would like to have some rain but only if it's warm. We have snow which I don't like!

Wow, 234 pieces in one block! Do you have any hair left? I thought about making one of those quilts but I guess I'll pass. I love my hair

QE--I am using a black marble flannel for backing on Rosie. I didn't really notice it in the store, but now that I have been working with it I see it has a pink tint...which is ok since there is pink on the front of the quilt.

Mirabelle--we would take some rain here too, but like Anael said it has to be a warm rain or the kids would say sledding snow...no ice! We haven't had any measurable moisture since before Christmas. Temps have been under 10*F the last couple days...quite a difference from the high 40s/low 50s on Saturday! Brrrr!! My heater in the clubhouse has had a hard time keeping up with the wind so I plugged in a space heater yesterday too while I was out there.

Anael--thanks for sharing your updates. Great to know that your DIL was feeling up to reading the cards yesterday and the little ones made it through the first night.

Bram is doing better today, he's as stable as Isa now. Last night when my DS and DDIL were visiting them they were responding to their voices, moving arms and legs. Bram tried to open his eyes but couldn't.
My DDIL will be home on Friday if nothing happens in the meantime. They've been through enough so let's hope not!

QuiltE...what a nice quilt and now back to PC blocks. Good for you.
Carrie....boy, you're cruising with Rosie. Evidently that club house doesn't get many interruptions.
QNSue...I second QuiltE. Hide out in the sewing room and let the plumbers plumb. Sorry it's taken so long to have someone get at it.
mirabelle....that's a lot of rain! I don't like driving in heavy rains either. Can't wait to see your Out of Darkness block. That's a lovely quilt.
Jan...good to hear from you. I was beginning to think that you had a relapse and we needed to make you some chicken soup!
Anael...I've seen the thread for the BBrackman blocks and liked it a lot but decided against doing it. I wish that she had it as a PDF so I could download the pages as she introduces them. How long will your DDIL be in the hospital? I didn't get a card sent over the weekend but could still do it today if she would be there in the morning.
OK...hope everyone is feeling better at your house. Knowing the cows still have to be milked regardless of how people feel makes it hard to get the rest and fluids that recovery requires. Does your meeting with the accountant mean that you have all the work done for filing taxes? Wouldn't that be sweet?
I enjoyed my M&M class yesterday. Next months project is apple cores but I passed on that one and didn't order the template. It just didn't call to me. Today I have some beautiful fabric to make a small storm at sea wall hanging that I can't wait to start. My LQS just keeps getting in more and more beautiful fabrics! It's a good thing I'm not there every week!

My DS just called. Bram isn't doing so well today. He needs a lot more support of everything and they weren't allowed to see the twins. My DDIL will visit them later tonight, late in the afternoon the twins became a bit more stable and quiet. My DS is on his way home and will go back to the hospital tomorrow.
