GrannyQ, thanks so much for posting the picture. I found out there's a downloadable version of the magazine. I like the printed version better but with $ 15.00 s/h I prefer to download.

Laurie is you have been busy reading you will know by now that we chat about everything, QNS set up a virtual RV where we can sit and have a tea or coffee, recipe swapping is great, now so for the waist line

This group has certainly bonded, which is why we decided to do a block swap, as a reminder of our journey over the past 2 1/2 years. Yes most of this group has been sewing together for that long. Newcomers are always welcome on our ride.

It is so nice to have you chatting with us, now must go dinner at DS's tonight yay no dishes for me. I'll just do what he does when he comes over for dinner. Plate in the kitchen, thanks for dinner, time to go home....

Anael more prayers & thanksgivin' tanight for your babies. I keep hearin' the song in my head "One Day at a Time" as I think o' your precious ones.
QE - All I have ta do is say that the quilts have wool in 'em. That gits their attention real quick. LOL Most o' my family do know ta honor quilts anyway. It is a part o' the family traditions.
Laurie - Wow. Most people don't even have any idea where Midland is. I don't go ta HEB very often. DH buys the groceries. He likes ta shop in Albertsons. We might have passed each other at some other time or place. Midland isn't a big town. Wal-Mart? PM me the next time ya are coming ta town & we'll have lunch or go ta the Quilting Patch or whatever ya want ta do.

Dublb, I hope you get to lunch with "mercysland' and show us all a picture of the event, at least in the virtual RV. I had a good day yesterday, and hope to have one today.

Anael, hope you enjoyed that celebration.

QuiltE, the onions turn clear, that's when it is time to add more ingredients. I have a large number of crock pots, far too many, but handy to line with slow cook liners and cook for a large group. pull the liner and the crock pots are clean, ready to put away again. No crowds, groups or company since Thanksgiving and its getting very lonely here with just dh and I...not sure dh is always a 'dear' this winter.

Maybe I can continue the work on the PC blocks today; here is hoping all have a good day!!

Well, I'm beginning to think PC is the quilt that will never be finished. I got the binding sewn on the front. Had to work Friday, so no sewing. Then a pipe froze and burst at my mother's house (which is still on the market). Spent all day there yesterday shop-vaccing the basement, testing appliances (all work thank God), hauling out wet rags, my son & MrjanRn repaired the pipe and insulated it, mopped kitchen floor from them tracking mud & snow in and out. Today have to go back over and clean areas of the living room and hall carpets (do men never wipe their feet????) Turns out it was the pipe that connects to the water meter so had meter replaced, too.

I'm so close to finishing!! (I know, I'm whining--sorry). I tried to work on it late last night but sewing navy blue fabric with navy blue thread doesn't work with these senior eyes. I'll be Scarlett O'Hara: tomorrow's another day!

Have a good one ladies, I'm off to clean carpets.

MercysLand ... I missed your mention of a possible quilt-a-long and with the other posts I went back to check. You can count me in as another likely participant!

Anael ... oh that is so nice, kind of an honour quilt, and as the days go by, your quilt will grow along with the memories. Are you using any specific pattern for their blocks? Or just whatever you are feeling that day? Kind of like a story quilt, where each block has a story?

QNSue ... I now know what sweating onions means!!! I enjoy cooked onions, but not raw ... hhmmm? maybe I should start a crock of onion soup today? I've never heard of crockpot liners ... only in America, I guess? I have four ... all different sizes and used for different purposes. If D isn;t Dear, maybe it's for Doghouse?

JanRN ... oh dear, what a mess to deal with. Thankfully you had DH/DS to deal with the MrFixIt part ... we'll allow them the D for that, even if they left a mess behind. Maybe this is to give your body a chance to recover from all the quilting muscle strains? And then you will be ready to go back to finishing the binding ......... Yeeehaw!!!!!!!!!! first Pony across the finish line!

Hey there CowGirls ... do y'all think we should gang up on MercysLand, our Newbie ... and order up one of her favourite recipes?
MercysLand? Are you up to the challenge, to deliver?

ICY roads have closed church services in Iowa and Northern Missouri today...everyone please be safe.

I am working on the PC blocks, putting strips of an inch and half around each one and mounting them on my vertical board again. Wow...can only get nine blocks high, so that means ten blocks long, with is perfect for the day bed dd has...since we gave it to her way back in time..when she was in her first apartment after college. I ended up printing on each block its number and week from book and QB PC postings, and arranging them in that order...just the same sequence they are in the book. That makes my book about the quilt easier to follow, 'cause each block has its own story, just like the FWSQ had for gs. I keep hoping Creekside will call me and say they have the quilting done on the FWSQ.

sigh.Patience. They have had it since October. They machine broke down in December, so they got behind. I agreed to wait until January, but January is almost over.

QNSue ... time to make a phone call and ask for a firm date of completion. Perhaps a little pressure of a date it is required is all that is needed. You can always come up with one, like you want it for a Valentine's Day gift! Creekside is a Mennonite fabric and sewing machine store near me! Great idea to coincide the books stories with the blocks .... and don;'t forget your stories for the blocks too!

OKSGlad ... looking forward to how the minis did in the auction last night! I'm sure you're busy with the birthday party today!

QNS the ice is moving north. If it's cold enough it will be snow but as I watch the sleety drizzle falling it's not snow. GD Elise is disappointed as BD party was postponed as other family members have an hour's drive.

On Jan how disheartening to find the mess. My heart sank after I read the first sentence.

This cold blast has affected us all hasn't it? It's a bummer when one of the cattle waters freeze and need to be fixed. Upside is mud tracking is outside. Downside the cold hands come in looking for a place to warm up. Yikes

Yes last night was a big success at the supper with the 3 little quilts selling for $350 total. Worth my time for sure. But I didn't get the final bid on any $150-$200 pie!

RE: Northcott fabric- I love the feel of their fabrics; but does this line look a little dull? The gold colorway looks much warmer. One thing I do see is a button to download into EQ. Makes it simple to do for sure.

Oh and I found the block to use for the BB's now off to the sewing room to get them started. Later!
