Maybe we could get QNSue to whip up some Chinese food today?
I like it, but seldom have it. Just not something to have for one!

MiraB ... I remember the pictures you showed us of the "trains" ... was that what you called the caravans? Such a different life. And I'm sure most who go to visit, never get to those parts to really see the remoteness. As in Canada, large distances and wide open spaces abound. Though in this part, urban sprawl sure has changed things!

Anael ... I still don't think of hopping in the car and driving a distance, though I know so many shudder at 20kms, let alone the 200 kms you have mentioned!! I had been wondering if they turned the babycam off at times ... and had been thinking how frightening that would be for you when watching. Let's hope that both settle today and stabilize to regain their strength. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

Quilt is ready for action today!

I think being raised in the country where you had to drive everywhere, just made it the norm for me. And even now, to go or do anything, it's still a distance, even if only a few kms, so I don't think of it! ............ as for the price of gas, well, another story!

I put my crock pot away. P-Phil gets a reprieve: he didn't see his shadow so that means spring is coming! (As I type this it's 11* and snowing). So no groundhog stew for the RV.

QE, you're getting close to the finish line. I made all the blocks, lots of substitutes, and some took 3 tries. I only used 64 (8 x 8) blocks for the top of my quilt. It fits a double bed, hanging over the sides and bottom of a thick mattress down to the dust ruffle. I don't tuck it over the pillow but use shams and decorative pillows. The other blocks are in the Box that Shall Never be Opened; I've taken some out to practice FMQ and made some pillows but don't know what to do with the others. Keep on plugging away--I'm loving your blocks and remembering making them.

Anael, still thinking about you & kiddies. Each day is one more blessing.

Stay warm (except Mirab LOL) and have a great week-end. I have to figure out something else to make for the RV now.

The babycam is off at times but those times are fixed. When I was watching the camera should be on. But now it should be on too and it isn't. I know the nurses sometimes forget to turn them on, that's no problem. Turning it off while watching is frightening! My DS and DDIL are there right now and will contact me when they're back again. In the mean time no news is good news.

I agree on the Chinese food, not something to have for one. I made Chili con carne today but lots and lots to go into the freezer.

I made more snuggles. My DDIL asked for a bright and happy one for Isa, that one is on the left. She wanted an apple green one for Bram but I don't have the right fabric. Looks like I have to go on a FART again!

JanRN ... Thank you! I don't do shams, so that's why I'm thinking the 9 long. 8 is more than wide enough, as you know. Am going to play a little with quilts I have that are closer to the sizes they would be. As for your extra blocks ... you'd have enough for another quilt! What about using one of OKSGlad's patterns where she had some on point like a medallion in the centre? Tablerunners/toppers or dresser scarves? Window valance? and if for the ones you really hate, you could always create fashionable grocery bags! And perhaps Patches needs a new quilt too!!!

Anael ... those are so cute! You're going to have to publish your patterns!! Be sure to get DDIL/DS to take pics of them snuggled in.

I do have one Chinese recipe of sorts that I make at times, to get my "fix" ... unrolled egg rolls! Add some rice and it's a good start. Other Chinese recipes, I just don't do anymore. Chili is something I don't make just for the reason ... volumes! Instead, I buy a few at Wendy's. They freeze OK in the take out cup, then zap it in the microwave when I want to eat them and I've had that taste for awhile.

QNSue ... good deal! And good that the two of you do treat yourselves too!

Now ... I am off to quilt the quilt!

QuiltE, it's not my pattern, I found it on the internet.

Jan, I'm very curious what's in your Box that shall Never be Opened. Picture? You could have send some of those blocks with the BB to Carrie as a surprise for us

Anael, you don't want to know what's all in that box LOL. I just love to make blocks, not so much quilts, just blocks. I find a pattern and make a block. I get bored if I have to make the same one more that 3 times so sampler quilts are perfect for me. No one would want the blocks from The Box. When I pass and someone opens it, it will be like an archeological or historical summary of my quilting. I have blocks in there from when I first started quilting til yesterday. It is nice to see I've gotten better!

MrjanRN was vacuuming this morning (believe me, it's the only household chore he does) and he commented on how bare my sewing room looks. There's nothing on either design wall since I finished PC and Rosie. I'm going thru patterns looking for my next project and nothing appeals to me right now. Finishing both of them kind of makes me feel almost sad--it's like post partum depression LOL.

Jan, I'm like you, I get bored too making the same block over and over again. Did you see the Barbara Brackman BOW? I'm behind with my blocks but they are nice and there are blocks I've never seen before.
