On the Bram and Isa front all is quiet! Still no news, everything is the same. Bram is trying to breath on his own again.
Tomorrow I will go to the hospital with my DS and DDIL so I will be here tomorrow night again.

I am tired today..was out of the house at 9...I'm ususally still in bed at that time... Stopped at the bagel shop then on to Joann's after that..the Entemanns Outlet...proceeded to the stitch N sew to check on fabric for QNS..No Luck..stopped at another shop closer to home..No luck...The farmer's market next and then finally Shoprite and home by 4:30..Will finish the questionnaire and send to everyone after dinner...It's been a long day...my feet hurt...

Wonderful news, Anael. Enjoy your time with them tomorrow. Honchey...can't wait to see the questionnaire. Right now I'm kind of at a loss to specify colors, styles, etc. All quilts have their beauty! I took a break this afternoon and just stroked the BBs. Haven't come up with a plan for putting them together yet though. It has to be unique because of those that made them.

QuiltE as to your enquiry, did I always sew a lot. Not much up until 1986. Before that I did a lot of knitting and crocheting. But when we moved to the Northern Territory in 1985 I found it was much too hot to knit, (haven't worn a jumper or cardigan since). I was very lonely and the only people I knew were my in-laws and my MIL didn't knit, crochet or sew...So when I saw an advertisement for a patchwork class I jumped at the chance to learn something new, meet some people..
I fell in love with it straight away, the first class I did was a Puff Quilt or it can be called a Biscuit quilt, no quilting just little stuffed pockets of fibrefill. That led me to the old favourite Log Cabin and I haven't stopped since. I met my best friend and we have been patchworking together ever since.

Back then my DH and I were running our own business and Sunday afternoon was MY time, so for a couple of hours I would just sit at my machine and sew like mad. It definitely saved my sanity living in such a remote part of the country. When we moved back to Queensland in 2004 DH said "why don't you retire", definitely didn't argue with that. But that led me to living in another small town knowing no one, children grown up, DH away at work for a week at a time, my friend living in the southern part of our State. So now I spend my days making Snuggle quilts for children in hospital and quilts for my family. The patchwork group I joined are about an hours drive for me as the only patchwork group in this town have been together for over 20 years and newcomers are not wanted, which is a shame.

I am sure I don't have to explain my BB blocks, you could all guess the reason behind them

Oh I remember those puff/biscuit quilts .... when I go to our nearby Menno country, they still make them and sell them in their shops! Good for you for finding your way (years ago now!) back to sewing and quilting! I know what you mean about it helping to keep your sanity. I am such a different person when I am given "enough" sewing and me-time. That being said in a positive light!!

Obviously, there's a genetic factor there with your DD's love of it too!

Mirabelle, I am familiar with the 'biscuit' quilt experience since we did that some too, but never completed a whole quilt top. I also tried your tutorial on the 4x7 inch sewn together, then cut 1 1/2 inches from the four seams to form a new block and showed that to my bf who was visiting; she took the idea home and started on a quilt of it today....had 13 squares done before she discovered my right and left brain err...and she had to rip some of hers out.

I sewed a pink/rose pieces of fabric on top and the reverse on the bottom, but on 3/8 I reversed the top...to rose/pink. So she knew where she got the err from...it was my left/right brain err birthing itself again!!

I saw something earlierabout a 4x7 blocks...now QNS is talking about a 4x7 block.. what is up with the 4x7 block...I would like to know...
I just sent the questionnaire to my proof reader and as soon as I hear from her I will PM it to all of you..

It's going to be an early nite for me....I .emptied the car and I put all my goodies away..I just might have a go at the machine tonite tho.
