I've been having trouble posting-when I hit Post Reply I get a message saying I'm not authorized to do this. Then everything gets lost. Hmm--I don't think I BS too much LOL.
Anael-three cheers for the SewGrands!! I love the pic of Isa and her rubber ducky. I'm glad Bram is back together with his sister--very important for twins.
Mirab & OK--you guys amaze me with how talented and productive you are. Beautiful, beautiful quilts.
Anne, we appreciate you as our Trail Master; thank you again and please don't leave us now that you're famous.
QE--JUST GO FOR IT!!!!! If I, a senior blonde, can master the Sweet16 a young 'un like you will be FMQing in no time!! My nearest LQS is also an hour or so away but the phone support and techies can talk you through anything. There's really nothing to the Sweet16-threading, bobbin, sew.
QNS, glad you're enjoying your company. It's so nice to have a noisy, fun crowd around one in awhile. Gives you a nice break from MrQNS (not suggesting you need one--no offense LOL).
Ggal, thanks for explaining how you did your applique on your stepping stones; I may break down and try some applique one of these days.
Hope this posts!

QNSue ... great weekend for you! You'll just have to imagine all the noise and activity is still amidst you.

MiraB ... you know the way to a man's ♥ is thru his stomach. Works good too for new sewing machines! After all, you have a very good reason ... your dreadful wait. Maybe make him something quilty that's all man? Great border on your DDs quilt ... looks like butterflies fluttering along the edge! Hang in there, I'll not just be thinking about you, but be along with you virtually tomorrow.

OKSGlad ... another amazing pair, especially yoru Chained to the Barn Door! Great name, but better still the itsy-bitsy work! You really should do one of the OhMyGosh Quilts! Perhaps Grandma should be making Livvy Mae something special with zebras and giraffes?

JanieW ... you've been so busy during your at home time! Now back with a stack of handwork ready for quiet times.

JanRN ... glad that you were finally able to get online with us! So does that mean I can use your plastic??

Today is Mystery Block Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks all for mini quilt comments. Janie may I suggest a trip to the optometrist--a new lens correction may let you see those wonky little blocks. There's a gal in Montana that does absolutely perfect work with 1/4" pieces. I just don't know how she does it! This is one place where I work at trying to get it just right. QE glad you picked up on the name of the littlest one!
It's easy to get little ones finished, but mirabelle's BFly's are amazing. QE's remark on them floating away to the border is spot on. Those pesky Y's were worth it m.
Janie, tell us about your preemie quilts. Inquiring minds want to know!
QNS, despite all the loving noise around your home this weekend, sometimes quiet is good. It gives you time to reflect on all the goodness you have just experienced.
Hope the retreat pair--Carrie and dublb are enjoying their weekend!
I plan on sewing the 6" companion to my MB today. This switch to DST is tough on me, especially after a poor night's sleep. That's what naps are for.

Oksewglad... I admit I am adjusting to new glasses, but I still think your minis are really well done. I love them.

My grandson was a preemie . I spent a lot of time in the special care nursery and was just thrilled with the wonderful care he got while there. When we moved out here when he was 1, I decided to make preemie quilts to give to the Special Care Nursery as a small pay back for the wonderful care Colin got. So I make about 30 little quilts that fit the isolettes twice a year and take them up to the hospital. The babies take them home when they are discharged so that means I have to keep producing.

Mirabelle, I just saw the butterfly quilt. It is gorgeous but the border makes it even more so. well done.

I must get off the computer and get packing.

Alas! Decision made on my MB pattern ... now how long will it take me to decide on the fabrics?
In total, I'll probably spend more time doing these two steps than the actual production ... will see!

OKSGlad ... I just love her name. Am thinking Livvy is a nick for Olivia ... another one I love!

JanieW ... Happy Trails!! ... and safe travels!

Hello All! Home again and partly unpacked...brought in food stuffs and laptop bag. It is raining here so am hoping it stops so I can get the rest done before it gets dark, if not I will at least unload my clothes/bedding and machine tonight.

Mirabelle--your butterfly border turned out very pretty

OK--your minis are lots of fun

Sounds like many of you had a nice weekend...

I was able to get rows together on my quilt and piano key borders are ready to go on....just need backing and batting so I can quilt it (QAYG). I work Wednesday so will pick those things up then. Some mentioned my colors and there being no green....don't worry it's in there. It is in the 2 fabrics with multiple colors and will also be the narrow border. I realized after taking the pictures one of the rows was laid out wrong, but you get the idea

I also got my MB done, all of the 4-patch blocks together for the "airplane quilt" (just have airplane and propeller blocks to pp), and the magnetic closure put on my purse. It was a very productive weekend considering I did lots of visiting, helping a friend with a couple sewing things, and even took a nap when needed.

I helped one of the ladies with some paper cutting for her wedding invites...she was feeling a little stressed after cutting something the wrong size. I had just finished my first quilt blocks so was happy to help before starting the next thing...poor thing is so worried she won't get them done in time...ended up she got done what she wanted to this weekend and is ready to print the info and attach that. She is making 300!!

I planned on sewing my MB today but got called into work today so I sewed lots & lots of 2.5" squares...I really didn't have time to gather everything so I settled for the little squares...I WILL be doing_________"s block tomorrow...it's going to be an 10.5 hour day for me tomorrow so I'll have plenty of time to do it...one of the girls is very sick so I am covering her hours...I'm also working on Wednesday all day... then my class on Thursday...whew!!! busy week...

This Friday's the day the names for next month's blocks will be emailed...watch for it please....

I'm going to have a piece of carrot cake for dessert then a nice long soak in the tub and then it's nitey nite for me...maybe just a couple of internet games then nitey nite...

I posted this under pics but I wanted to share this with you. I finally got the nerve to quilt something "real" on my Sweet16. It probably should have more quilting but I didn't want to press my luck. This is a huge table runner, about 70 x 26 and is a Pam Bono pattern. Felt like I needed an engineering degree when I first started but it went together smoothly. I can' wait to do another of her patterns. Thanks for looking!

Enjoy the soak, Honchey!
Oh Jan is that ever lovely. I have seen PB's patterns and yes they are very steppy, but this was worth it! Where are you going to put it?

Honchey--sounds like a lot of long hours this week. Hope you are able to get some sewing in while there as planned.

Jan--your tablerunner is pretty...and quilting especially nice.

OK--how are you holding up after all the time helping out in the barn?
