Thanks Honchey and yes, I'm sure and my first real FMQ project too. I used water soluble stabilizer to draw the feathers on, just sewed over the lines and voilą LOL. For the outer border I used a template.

Anael, the Texas star is very pretty. Made one for DD who attended Baylor U. in Texas for her dorm bed. You tell us how much the Sew Grands weight, but in inches, how tall are they?

Nap time here. Just finished with lunch (Yes, we had a late lunch), had to go to town and pick up tarps to put over the guineas pen and the travel trailer that does not travel...then cooked lunch while the guys took care of the guineas. They cut the wing feathers off on one side, put them into a small cage, and moved them into the poultry yard. Then took the tarp and wrapped up the old dog run, 5 x 15, for the guineas to roost in. They found four more guinea eggs. With strong gusts of wind, they put off the travel trailer job until evening when the wind dies down.

Sounded like OksewGlad had a house full of adults and kids...What fun!! Found some excellent pieces of fabric for the gd threesome and one package of candy per girl...figured they were rated fairly high on the sweets today...gs did I know. We are another day closer to Thursday...celebrating each day...brownies are in the virtual RV. Freshly baked this morning...during the fixing of fresh tenderloin and eggs for breakfast.

Dubib...what a neat log cabin block for Granny Q! According to my calculations, there are only 3 more blocks to be revealed and end this round of mysteries.
QuiltE...glad that you're enjoying the tedious task of doing taxes as much as you possibly can.
Carrie...great plan for the BB! That is still on the back burner for me.
Anael...thanks for sharing the family picture. Your DS and DDIL look so happy! Again, another happy, happy birthday for the SewGrands! Your Lone Star is beautiful! I have one in my UFO's that never seems to make it to the top if the pile.
DD...love the goats. We had them when the kids were in 4-H. Great milk, meat and entertainment! So you're younger than Carrie? I wasn't on the FWS quilt along so I don't know you well at all but you've given me enough to go on to make you a very special block....whenever!
Honchey...procrastination always has a pay day. Hope it goes well for you tomorrow. BTW....when you go to Delaware, do you have a vacation home there? Have you gotten any more action on the possible sale of your home in NJ?
QNS...the food you produce in your kitchen could feed an army! Nice that DH had some help with the outside work and you and your guest could retire and sew!
OK...what fun to have so many people to celebrate with! Many wonderful memories for the entire family. How is DH's back? Did you get your MB?
Jan...force yourself to say sweet things. It will actually relax you and that seems to be a perquisite for happy quilting. We got a little sunshine today but the forecast is for a little snow tomorrow. I'm ready for some gardening!! I bought some more lily bulbs today.
Jeanie...how is the physical therapy coming? How much longer will you have to do it?
Mirabelle...did you get to raid your DD's stash while playing nursemaid? Will she be unable to work for a time? It sounds pretty serious.
Me...I quilted and finished the storm at sea wall hanging Friday. No picture yet. I did get the 3 quilts for the LA too and they need to be trimmed and bound. That has to be top of the list for this week. Low hanging fruit is the easiest to pick! That would reduce my UFO's to 5. Such a good feeling. I would be ready for the Compass Sew along for say June 1.

GG, if you only have 5 UFO's left the Lonestar will soon surface
LOL raid a stash while playing nurse You have some really good suggestions!

QNS, I don't know how tall they are. As far as I know Bram has yet to be measured. Isa has grown a lot since they last measured her. I will ask my DDIL, maybe she knows.

I'm calling it a day now. We're on summertime since last night and I miss that hour! So off to bed I go

Hip Hip Hooray ... All done! ... and ready to take to the accountant tomorrow.
No sewing this weekend, but you can bet there'll be some serious sewing tomorrow.

It's not a full Stat holiday, basically just government, schools and banks. Because the kids are off school, many parents take it (paid or not) and some companies take the extra day across the board ... and then people like me
figure it's too confusing as to who is working and not, and just take it as a bonus day!

So what's everyone been up to, today?

Anael ... your Lonstar is stunning! Terrific choices for your fabrics and I love how it's not the norm! Sometimes when we know no different, it's amazing what we do. Are you doing your DDIL another Lonestar? or what pattern? Gosh, you're late with your Daylight Savings Time ... ours started the first weekend of March!

QNSue ... Looks like a busy day at your place. Good planning on your part to have company to help your DH and let you stay inside! Stores were pretty much all closed today as Friday and today were Stat Holidays. Tomorrow is the iffy day (see above) and creates mass confusion!

GGal ... enjoying it as much as one could ever possibly do when crunching numbers. It was worth it though, as now it's done. There's usually something missing, which is fine, as then the accountant finds it and chases me down to get whatever they want/need. You're going to have LOTS of pictures to show us this week!! Yippeee!!

MiraB ... hope you did as GGal suggested! After all, DD would not be able to chase you when you "stole" her fabric! Tell her it's only your pay for your Nurse-Maid duties!

And now ... I'm calling it a day ... or perhaps I should say night!

Good Night All!!!!!!!!

I am home and very very tired, traffic was crazy driving home, I thought by leaving before lunch I may miss it but no, I think everybody had the same idea. DD's foot is healing, she just has to be careful. mmm I can't use my enter button oh well, this will be a continuous post with no paragraphs As her fabric stash is in her spare bedroom I had free reign to rummage and found a perfect piece for the block I am working on also found a couple of black and white prints also perfect for a block I have to make and she was none the wiser I have managed to do some calculations for the Compass Blocks and for the first 12 blocks you will need approximately 3 yards, my figures came out at 2.5 yards but if you want a little wiggle room then I would get extra. I don't randomly cut into fabric for paper piecing I will work out what widths I need to cut and then cut my pieces from these. Then use these strips until they are gone before cutting more strips, I hope that makes sense. As I am going to make 36 blocks I will probably purchase 6 to 7 yards so I have plenty for sashing and borders if I need it. Now time for a BIG cup of coffee and put my head down for an hour or so Chat soon

Mirabelle - The three (3) yards, is that for the background fabric? I noticed the background is a dark fabric, wonder what it would look like in a light fabric? Guess it does not matter.

Gardnergal - I am still going to PT for my hand. I am much improved and hoping the Dr. (who I see Thursday) will let me continue. My finger still does not reach my palm when I grip. I want it back to where it should be! That reminds me, time to do my night exercises (heat, strap, exercises, cold).

I have finalized my PC blocks on my display wall. Tomorrow I'm going to finish sewing the sashing on, then start sewing them together. Yeah!

Yes JeanieG that is for the background fabric only, for the first 12 blocks as I don't know how many we plan on making and I haven't printed up the last 6 blocks. I plan on using a cream, either a tone on tone or a batik whichever I can find that I like. The main fabrics I plan on using are batiks as I want to make this for my DS. Still can't use my enter button, darn it and DS came over and said he fixed it, double darn it
