Jan--hope you can figure out the picture...can't wait to see your BB quilt. How nice you have a good spot for it.

Anael--great news about the twins move closer.

QNS--those are some cute little birds. Nice of DH to help get the pictures.

Mirabelle--how is your progress coming along??

Now for my surprise...I got a call last Friday afternoon from my Janome dealer. Her "guy" (repairs, cleaning, etc) called and said he had a "demo 6600" available. Since I am on her list I got a call. After talking with DH he basically said it is either the bigger machine or bigger building...after much deliberation I opted for the machine. Mostly because it was a demo and comes with a full warranty (I think a used machine is just a year). DD is thrilled because that means she gets an upgrade on her machine too (she will be using my Jem 760).

It just fits on the computer desk I got at a garage sale last summer for DD's machine...the keyboard part is adjustable. I will eventually either get an insert for my sew-ezi table or get a Janome table...have to save for a few more months.

I *had to* try it out this afternoon and am so excited to have more room!!! I was quilting blocks on my BB quilt.

Congrats Jeanie on the first great granddaughter!!

I have a Big Shot too and have used it to cut scalloped squares to make a "rag" purse a couple years back.

A check in before I am off to bed!
Granted, I didn't do too much today after the dentist ... so will I sleep?

Honchey ... thanks for thinking of me! Thankfully all went well. Well, that's as well as possible when at the dentist. Now, get your car packed and be ready to leave as soon as you wave good bye to that dentist!

Anael ... Glad that Isa's report is good. The important thing is that they caught it, and did the further checks and now, if necessary, will continue to monitor her. Oh such good news that they are coming closer to home!!!! If that's your results in your "I don't know what I'm doing" mode ... you're going to be amazing with some practice. Forget it! ... you just proved you don't need practice and are a natural!

MiraB ... oh such a beautiful quilt!! Some gourmet cook, that MrMiraB is!! Please say hello to Canuck Shannon and tell me more ... where is she from? how did she get there? how long ago? I hope that she had a tug in her ♥ when she saw that Canadian BB. Nice that you had some help, though it looks like you have most of the work to do yourself.

GGal ... Looks like you have a great LQS with the free fabric offer and now the great trade for the upgrade. Check out the 8900, as from what I've read, I think there's enough reason to go for it, over the 8200. So with your no-snow report, you are letting JanieW catch the blame, when I get the dump!

CarrieM ... surprise? I just knew it was going to be your 6600!!!! Congratulations!!! ... You're going to love using that machine, and I'm sure after your session today, you are already thankful for your purchase. The table came with mine and while I would have liked more storage in it (the drawer really is almost non existent!), I do like it, as it's very solid. The leaves blew in today ... wasn't that fast? THANK YOU! I was so excited to open them up, and then to pet them. Thanks for the further info on your topper. Great proportions of all together.

Ladies!! ... there's only one problem with CarrieM and her new machine ... she'll be turning things out even faster now.

JanRN ... Congratulations on your first finish!!!! Though I still want to see the pic ... I think you have the how to correct, though I find it takes a really long time for it to upload after I press the button!

QNSue ... oh what cute pics!!

JeanieG ... your Big Shot, is that basically the same as the other cutting machines? Do you feel like you waste a lot of material with it? Or is it very efficient, that way? How exciting that you will soon have a DGGrand! May all go well for your DGD.

And now Ladies, this kiddo is trotting off to bed!
Bon Soir!

Oh Anael what good news! No surgery for Isa, & they are gonna be closer!! Hooray!!!
Mirabelle - That's one happy quilt, & your sewin' mates look quite content! How neat that one o' 'em is from North America!
GG - That does sound like a good deal. Are ya gonna go for it?
Jan - I sure hope ya figure out how ta post a pice soon! I'm very happy that ya have a great place for it.
QNS - Those are sweet li'le babies! I"ll be prayin' for ya on the 18th. {Huggs}
Carrie - I hope your headache is gone now! I hate ta git migraines. (I haven't had one in about 3 years, ......she says as she knocks on wood....)
I bet ya are never gonna regret that "new" machine.
Jeanie - Let me know if bein' a DGGM is as good as bein' a DGM. I bet it is!!!!
QE - I'm hopin' that ya are feelin' better. Some times a trip ta the dentist can be hard on ya.
As for the discussion about how much we each git done...well I'm just plan slow w/whatever I do! It takes me longer, so I just accept it. Quiltin' is my art & fun so I'm ok w/it. LOL Each o' us sews at our own pace & that's fine.

I did git my borders on my PC BB quilt! I'll post picts tamarrow. I even took picts showin' how I miter a triple border. I was wonderin' if I should post 'em here or do a tute. Honchey what do ya think?

QuiltE I hope you are feeling better, will ask Shannon for some more info if I see her tomorrow, I should be going to patchwork but it is raining at the moment and if it gets heavier I won't be going as I don't drive in heavy rain. Too many idiots on the road who don't drive to the conditions.

Carriem congrats on your "new" machine, you will have a lot of fun with it.

Managed to get the top finished today so next week I will start the quilting. I had to clear the design wall as the white background just kind of showed what was behind it and I couldn't give any secrets away now could I..

And another surprise package ready to wing its way to a new home, I wonder where...now to start on my May block

A look before I call it quits for the day too
Jan--wonderful that you have the perfect spot for the BB quilt. Can't wait to see pics.
Love the fowl photos, QNS. DDIl had a close call with the heat lamp the other evening--too close to the wood shavings she uses as bedding. She smelled smoke while she was out doing calf chores and found the scorched sawdust. An angel watching above for sure.
Anael another step up for the SewGrands. Won't be long and you will be holding those little SewGrands and not get anyi sewing done. BTW those feathers are wonderful. I'm envious of your talent.
Jeanie--a little GGD to spoil Hope all has gone well.
Carrie what a great surprise. Lucky you.
Waiting for the bobbin shuttle to come into the shops so I can get back to sewing. Meanwhile the "slacker" has been handsewing on her mini hexi quilt--great for TV watching and choosing fabrics for the larger hexi quilt that will be my "travel quilt" this summer and fabrics/block for the MB. Transplanted some spring flower seedlings and started my tomatoes and peppers today as well as my nasturtiums and morning glories. Had a spring thunderstorm tonight with marble sized hail. Rain coming down again. Hail would have been hard on your lovely crocus flowers, Carrie. My scilla are just popping out of the ground and a few daffodil spikes showing. This rain should wash away the snow on the north side of building sites and in the ditches.
Honchey--all packed and ready to go. A nice change of pace awaits you.
Hope this posts as I've tried 3 times now as satellite connection is sporadic.

mirabelle--you're teasing again.

Jeanie, congrats on your first GGD! Hope everything is well!

Mirabelle, I saw the same quilt on facebook the other day. I've seen a tut on how to do those flowers somewhere but I can't remember where and when

Carrie, congrats on your new machine. While I was wrestling with my feathers I thought how nice it would be having more space but I really can't afford a new machine now

Thanks all for your compliments on my feathers. Using the BSR feels like cheating a bit but as it only regulates the stitchlength I still have to do everything else I won't have time to quilt today. This morning I have a meeting and tonight bingo with one of the mentally challenged cliënts

Today's the day Twins will be nearer to us!! So exciting

DublB ... look forward to seeing your triple mitre, wherever you post. I know I saw a video of a triple mitre not so long ago, though forget where, and this will be a good refresher..

Honchey ... That triple mitre looked like a good way to go when wanting a nice edge on a bunch of borders. Definitely, you'd better not forgot your MB notes for you ... and all! Looks like you'll be a wanted lady when you get back, with all your gallery commitments and can now do some planning as to what your projects will be.

MiraB ... look forward to hearing more about your friend Shannon's roots! Your posies are looking so fresh and pretty and will be a popular raffle item, I'm sure.

OKSGlad ... Count your blessings for that near miss. Problems with a machine?? I thought you had two? And getting busy now with your seedlings ... and soon the fields!s

Anael ... so exciting for you, and the babies coming closer to home. Soon you'll have lots of snuggle time with them.

It's not going to happen today. My DS called the hospital in Enschede this morning and there's no place for the twins yet. So I don't know what's going to happen now. I guess Isa will be transported back to Zwolle today.
