What a great job you did on the BB quilt, Jan! Love it!

We got home from our camping trip this afternoon, in time to go to the hospital to see my new great-granddaughter. Aubree Rene was born at 2:48 this afternoon. She weighed in at 8 lb. 14 oz, and was 19" long. She was delivered by c-section, so mommy will be in the hospital a few more days. Here is her first photo:

Gone for a day and the chatter has been busy,

Ggal that is so funny about the Mirabelle fabric, but I really like it. Might have to get me some for my stash

Dublb so sorry to hear about your postal problems, I hope it gets sorted out quickly

QNS I absolutely love your pansy quilt, so beautiful

JanRN your BB quilt is beautiful, what a wonderful memory quilt it will be

JeanieG congrats on your gorgeous Great Granddaughter such a precious bundle.

My news, not a lot. Wish I had time to work on my BB quilt, not going to happen for a while. I have to start quilting the raffle quilt. Started my May MB today but not working out the way I want it so will redo tomorrow. Note to self, don't try to work on intricate blocks at embroidery club, too much chatter, too much laughter and too many distractions. But I had a great day..
My longarmer is going to post more photos of my Pony Club quilt tomorrow I hope so can't wait to see it.

Now time for a coffee and 5 minutes of peace and quiet then off to DS's for dinner
Chat to everyone tomorrow

Wow QNS, that quilt is just gorgeous! Such lovely, bright colours!

Jan, you did a great job on your BB quilt! Congrats on finishing

Jeanie, congrats on your beautiful GGD!

Yesterday I found an UFO in a box It was supposed to become a quilt but it ended up to be a table topper. I started this one about 2 years ago, the piecing wasn't that well done and half of the blocks are on bias so hard to match! The top is done, now to find some batting (I ran out of it) and backing. Oh, the top still needs a border

Dublb--that is too bad your fabric was 2" short! I am sure you can come up with some creative way to fix it. I've never sent something as small as a block by UPS or FedEx, do they have small envelopes to use available? I'll have to check their websites. Maybe one day real soon you will get a big pile of mail!!!

Jeanie--congrats on the healthy baby girl. Praying mama heals quickly so she can take care of babe.

Mirabelle--you will get to your BB quilt one of these days. Have you thought about how you will lay them out yet? Will you be quilting the raffle quilt at home or rent time on the LA?

Anael--good for you doing *something* with the UFO besides just letting it sit longer.

Well I am getting sleepy again so better try to get a couple more hours in before getting up with DH for work. My back woke me hurting at about 2:30, took ibuprofen and used heating pad...muscles seem to be relaxed now.

Carriem I am going to quilt it on my Pfaff sewing machine, hopefully it will only take me a week, I plan to start it on Sunday...

I have drawn up some plans for my BB's ---
Plan 1 was to use the list of names, I think Grannyq came up with it, print it on fabric and use it as the centrepiece, border with HST's and maybe place the blocks on point around it.
Plan 2 was to border each block and then use a connecting block, maybe 9 patch or pinwheel to make it a nice size.
Plan 3 Blocks on point with plain block between for some nice quilting

When I have decided then it will be time for action. I just really want to spend some time doing my stuff but unfortunately that won't happen for at least a week.
Good news today, I sent off my deposit to attend my retreat in September. DH is going to take leave from work so I can attend, gotta love him..

Carriem I sympathise with you about your back, I have back problems that will only get worse as I get older and as the temperature has dropped here I have turned my electric blanket on to keep some warmth in my back joints. Why do we have to get older

Wow Mirabelle...that quilting finishes of your blocks nicely. I think sometimes the quilting can take away from a quilt, but from the little I can see she makes your blocks the important part.

Jan...thanks for posting pics of your quilt! I really like it and we are really proud of you.
Carrie....sounds like quilting it coming to the forefront. You will enjoy having more space for fabric. I think it grows overnight. My scraps from the past couple of weeks are nearly overrunning me and I need to get serious about taking care of them. Hope your back gets better. I know we need a better mattress and that would help mine but age is catching up with me a bit too. I know that both UPS and FedEx have mailing envelopes.
QNS...did you get any frost last night? Not near that cold here but much cooler since the rain came through.
Dubib...what is the SBS quilt? I can't keep up with all the abbreviations.
Jeanie....what a beautiful GGD. It's fun to have them close enough to see once in a while but I think it was your comment that once we get used to our quiet routine, young children can really disturb that. My DM always said that God knew what He was doing when he gave young women the task of raising babies.
Mirabelle....I really like that fabric too. IRL the blue is almost grey and would make a wonderful blender. I know I will be getting some...along with the loudest. I have a magazine that has those fast quilts with focus fabrics and this group would be perfect for it. I peeked at your quilt. What a work of art! Another quilt show entry? You really need to show off your work to the world.
So today is laundry and all the stuff I put off yesterday. I will be getting the backing and maybe even a little time to spend on another MB. My BB's are on the wall but it is not calling to me yet so I'm not sure what I will tackle next. Plenty to do.

Neat picture of the ggd, Jeanie...may be one of the generations later?

Mirabelle, sorry about your back hurting; that quilting job is fantastic on a first class quilt piecing job!

Ggal, not sure about the frost here, since I slept in last night, so tired lately.

Lots of good chatter here this morning to read; that is what i like to do first thing of a morning. Then I face the problems of the day: to UPS a Rainbow vacuum cleaner back to Texas to be reconditioned; to see what I can do with 20 dozen eggs in the refrigerator, and mailing some things out by Monday at the latest. Starting my day here, then to eat Peanut Butter and jelly sandwich, and face the day from there. You all have a good day; a busy day is a good day.
