Janie...your thread sounds real interesting. I've used silk 100 weight before and I loved how it disappeared into the quilting. I'm keeping that bookmarked.
DD...thanks for all of those wonderful pictures. You must have had soooo much fun.
dubib...such a disappointment.....I'm so sorry. Keep your feelers out. There is the just right house when the time is right.
Jan...hope they find someone to take the place of the person that left so you don't have so many hours....it sounds like it would suit you fine that way.
mirabelle....I love your star struck quilt! Is that the end of your UFO's? I found a really neat quilting magazine at the local Barnes and Nobels this past weekend....Australian Patchwork and Quilting. Some really beautiful quilts. I also found another Quiltmaker magazine..100 blocks, vol. 7 and then another one...Quilts from Quiltmakers 100 Blocks. I'm so glad you and Jeanie introduced Quiltmakers to me. It's my absolute favorite.
QNS...too bad about the errands. They cut into productive time even if they are necessary. How about a picture of the chicken tractor? There are so many different models now.

OHHH!!! Mirabelle I wish you were with me too!!! I did see SEVERAL quilts from Australia imagine that!? I kept checking the name to see if you snuck any in on me I REALLY felt yall were there "In Spirit"

QNinaSue I also thought we were MUCH more creative with our colors etc... most of the quilts in the FW show really stuck to Lauries colors. I felt SO proud of our group

ALL I hope you are proud of your quilts also!!! wouldnt it be AMAZING to have each of OUR quilts hanging in a show in a row??? awwww a girl can dream.... after all... I would have to FINISH mine for that to happen huh?

The show itself was quite an experience! I seem to be drawn to the Antique quilts and the Imperfect quilts, sigh.... probably because mine have mistakes
at one point my sister got into a cat fight with a lady! I was minding my own business, buying my templates and a lady came up to me and told me that she has already spent 10G's! one in rulers alone, and then she points to the templates Im holding and started instructing me on HOW to use them correctly.... my sister blew her top!!! SEEE there WERE cats at the show!!! LOL

Oh dear!! ... I had a bunch of replies typed and then went and deleted them!!!! Silly me. So per chance it was a sign to not be so yappy?

Beautiful Garden Pictures .... Thank You Everyone!
I really need to see that ... as it's turned frightfully cold again, with frost warnings for last, tonight and tmro night. And get ready ......... yesterday snow showers off and on, then got dreadfully windy, with big cotton ball snowflakes. Thankfully nothing stayed ... but really? Not funny Mother Nature! Yesterday morning it was 1°C and this morning milder ... 2°C! When it was warmer the perennials had started to jump and were filling in. It's supposed to get considerably warmer this weekend, so they can take off again.

While I was gone, I had some good productive meetings ... and got my farmer and kitty fix! Spent two days on a tractor, switching between the cultivator and roller, to help a friend get their barley in, before it rained on Thursday. Was SO tempted to bring home a little kitty, like DDamsel's, but knew that was not a good idea ... so instead got my kitty fix, each time I went to feed the horses!

The circle of life ... so sorry for your loss OKSGlad. Meanwhile a brave Granny taking the Grand on that long road trip! New DGS is ever-so-cute and DGG-to-come for you GGal. And such beautiful pics of the SewGrands, Anael, just to make us smile some more!
Hope that MrJeanieG is improving daily and that you are able to be away and enjoy your time with your friends.

Just home from NC, Honchey, and now off on a road trip with your DSis! Have a grand time.

Threads are something I am just starting to learn about. Til a couple of years ago I didn;t know there was a difference, and have been learning since. I've been using the Invisafil 100 wt and it's 80 wt sister, DecoBob for quilting for the last year. I like the finer weight, as it does a good quilting job, and because it is fine, it is less noticeable, thus helps the not-so-good quilting be less noticeable, than a coarser thread. Had never thought of it for piecing, JanieW. Thanks for leaving the link, as I'd never been to their site before and discovered a new teacher and LAQ, not far from here. Anael, the thread is not invisible and in many colours. JanRN and Honchey, no shame in using the C+C. It's all about using what works for you, and what you like.

And as always, MiraB ... another impressive quilt finished, and soon to be finished Star Struck.

I was like you, DDamsel, and kept thinking they just didn't have the stunning and unique looks of ours. Of course, we are NOT partial ... are we?

DublB, I can understand your disappointment. Though, it;s better you found out about the plans for the area of your new-to-you home, before you bought. Does your RE agent not have to divulge such to you? That'd be a severe no-no here, and would have severe repercussions to the agent, if a deal was cut, and such info later was found out.

So excited for you JanRN about your new car. Great time of the year to get a new vehicle, and enjoy it for the summer! Lots more FARTs to take it on!

I know there's lots more ... but as I was reading (while listening to the hockey game), my eyes kept saying, now I lay me down to sleep .......... They've been bothering me a lot these last few days, just too dry and when that happens, they just want to close to try to rehydrate. I think it;s time for me to humour them!

Good Night All!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone! This WIFI is iffy at the RV Park we are staying at. It keeps going on and off, so will make this short and hope it goes through.

It was weird, I did not get any updates on my email from this thread all day! Knew that could not be, so logged into Quilting Board to find out what was happening.

Gosh - so much news! I will not list all, but let everyone know I read it and am "up to date" on everything! Always so important! LOL

My DH is feeling so much better. Hope that keeps up! Really hot at home yesterday and today (86*). It was over 100 here in the mountains (I thought it would be much cooler). We had an early start this morning, so I'm ready for bed.

Janie & Jan...about the invisiline thread....have you considered the needle size? Some of the newer machines get upset when the thread size doesn't match the needle size.
QuiltE....once a farmer, always a farmer. Nice to have you back and I hope your eyes get better.
Jeanie...good news about DH. Thanks for stopping in.
Planted snap peas yesterday and got about 1/4 of the edging done. Should finish that today. Also finished sandwiching all of the Sam blocks and stitched around the appliqué of several more. See how much more I can get done today. A day just isn't complete without some time in the sewing room! BTW...Audrey is beautiful, Janie. So nice to have a plant that just aims to please without a lot of fussing! Have a good day everyone!

JeanieG ... here's hoping the time away will help your husband get better and give you the break you need to come back with energy to face the next phase. Rest up!!

GGal ... thanks for the well wishes. Just something that I deal with, ongoing. Looking forward to meet your Sams!

JanieW ... agree with GGal about Audrey. I plant amaryllis' every year, and seldom have any re-grow ... and none did so this year. Was that a browallia, next to her? It was lovely too!

I join JanRN and CarrieM in the Brown Thumb Society! I do enjoy plants/flowers, though am not a good caretaker!

Anael ... oh so beautiful!! Well Done! and Thank You!!

So many talented embroidery'ers in this group!

LOL QuiltE, it's not me who got the talent, it's my Brother embroidery machine I only have to pick the design and colors. Glad you like it.

yes they can. Mine doesn't like Madeira thread. Keeps breaking and I had no idea what was going on when I first used it. It does like the cheap threads though
