I can't think of a better way to start the day, then a stroll amidst QNSue's floral haven ... beautiful!!! Thanks for sharing your bounty with us!!!

CarrieM
... what a good DDIL you were, to take your MIL to the reunion! Good that you turned it into a FART, with new purses to follow for the two of you!

JeanieG ... A new week, and perhaps some progress with the insurance issues! I'm sure you are anxious to see some progress. Hope you are feeling better!

Anael ... ooooooooh the SewGrands really are SewGrand!! Thanks for the latest pics!!
I know, it's all about practice practice practice ... which I worked on yesterday. However, I've never been good with imaginary things and do better with serious real things. So I have a feeling I will be just jumping in and hoping for the best!

JanRN ... yup straight stitching done and a lot of practicing. Yes, I was envious of you and your S16 for the high clearance and incredible visibility!!! I would feel like I was making progress and then ... would mess up on the routine! Practice Practice Practice!!! .... but I am not patient! Good Luck with those dastardly raccoons!

DublB ... You'll probably find the home you want ... when you least expect it!

MiraB ... Chances are you'll need more than that one cuppa ... how about the whole pot? or some espresso? Welcome Back!! ... I've missed you, but totally understand your need to allow yourself the time to recover. For now, maybe you just want to cuddle into your favourite quilt and be quiet? It's all about doing what works for you that is important. Take care!

Maybe it's the sunshine QE!! Just getting to email etc this am.
Checked on dublb's packet--I did put tracking on it and after a week of lollygagging between Iowa and Texas it should be in her mailbox tomorrow!
Woke up with sore back and the Grands cold--hope it doesn't last. Guess I will have to go back to chiro this week- Doc told me to give it a couple of days--sore in the am when I get up--then take a bunch of aspirin and maybe good all day. Love this new decade I'm in! Does not go well with this time of year and lots to be done outside. All the rain we've had makes grass grow and then it's hard to find a day to mow. The corn planter is rolling today-finally. Looks like we will condense 3 weeks of work into one. Hopefully can make hay while the sun shines.
Such pretty babies and young boys. A joy at any age--love the tents-forts; such fun.
QNS those flowers are just spectacular!
Lovely finishes by young and old and some in between!
Nasty foxes--trade you for a dog!!! Isn't it frustrating when a quick 5 minutes they can destroy 2 weeks of work, GGal? I'm with QE on the binding--once I get to that it means just a short time and quilt can be used or gifted!
Re: Tea Only drink it hot from a teabag--drink herbal teas quite a bit as well. DH was raised on instant tea--so he just mixes his by the glass with cold water and a little ice. I don't care for iced tea at all--well maybe with a touch of lemon and even less sugar.
Timer just went off--choc chip bars in oven--trying to find cowboy cookie recipe. Must be hiding with my camera!!!!
Thanks for complements on GMFG--was fun to do when my sewing machine was out of commission and I thought a perfect addition to an old fashioned quilt! Oh and those little hexies are addictive--some day will share what I've been up to! Have gotten pattern ready for June MB--now to pick out fabrics.

Guess I will need to send the Cowboy recipe to you in your email, OKsewGlad.

Thanks to everyone for your kind words on our flowers. I just set out more, out on the right-of-way will be blooms at all times in the two tires we have out there. Set out the last the garden plants; dh is still finishing up on his seed planting.

GardenGal, have you considered electric fence...two strands...to teach the foxes where not to play? And JanRN, it works with racoons as well. Not expensive at a farm store to get the light weight small steel posts and connectors to connect the wire to the source back of your house. Goes 'click' every so often, depending on how you set it up.

Still trying to figure out bf's thinking...about the Iowa Shop Hop..she is going to ones we normally do on Highway 54, and since she will be in Des Moines, she will go to those with her gd during the day while dd is in the hospital. What ever happens, happens. If I don't get there, I don't get there. A bit disappointing.

No need, QNS, not only did I find it, but there are 12 dozen cookies made--half cowboy cookies and other half Amish sugar cookies. Most of them stashed in the freezer for later enjoyment. Guess I will be out in the field later--thank goodness for long summer days thanks to DST!
All for now.

Pretty flowers and babies too.

Great to hear from many of you. Sounds like all are keeping busy as usual! No sewing again today...I started a book and am almost halfway through. This is why I don't read very often...I don't do anything else until the book is done. I needed a break after all the sewing in May though before starting to quilt the airplane quilt so checked out a couple books at the library.

We did go pick up some asparagus from a widow. While there she shared many of her oil paintings...barns, animals/birds, mills, flowers, etc. She is nearly 90 yrs old and been painting for the last 40. She has beautiful flower gardens all over the yard...reminds me of the many pictures QNS shares with us. She gave DD a gourd she had dried/painted and cut an opening for a wren house.

We made unbaked cookies and cornflake bars this afternoon...everyone was wanting something sweet last night so they have choices tonight. Better figure out supper...
