Your next home to be looks great, Barb; sounds like it just might be the one!! When you tell us about your new quilting room, we know you have decided!!

Oksoglad, you are up going strong long hours...good that you took a few moments for yourself for a shopping trip for your up coming trip abroad.

Mirabelle, sounds like you have a 'sunshine' daughter; a delight every moment that brighten up your life. And she sounds like she appreciates her Mother, too. Lovely dd, inside and out. My dh favorite question to high schooler's he taught, 'Is she beautiful inside as well as outside?' got all the boys thinking little harder.

Kitchen duty calling me. Need to make last year's berries into jam; make the rhubarb into crisp. Another 'hot' day. Young chicks scratched out my flower bed in front of the house that dh let go out of their pen. The nine chicks had plenty of room in their house and run, but dh wanted me to know he did not appreciate me getting more chicks. No plans of replanting flower bed. Need to dress out some old hens when I feel better...maybe some ducks.

Dubib....what a beautiful house. Are you making an offer on it?
Carrie....nice you got a few minutes in the sewing room. It will be nice when your DD can drive without a parent. Will she still be restricted to who she can have in the car with her like here in Indiana?
QNS...it sounds to me like you just keep pushing yourself and not taking seriously the Dr.'s advice to rest. The meds need to be taken with at least one hour of quiet napping/reading activity every day and early to bed. Set the timer so DH knows you're not just slacking but restoring your health and you're not to be bothered.
OK....how long will you be gone? Is it all business or will there be opportunity for some touristy stuff?
JanRN...the weather has turned much cooler today. I hope it has settled down enough today that you can enjoy your FART. And no, I won't be showing off the contents of your box...at least in it's original form. And I never laugh at someone else's efforts.
Anael...I love your Birds in the Window quilt. It's so cherry. I've neglected to mention that I'm sorry for your brother's passing and the entire family situation. Even when estranged, the loss can be felt.
it was really HOT and HUMID here yesterday! I got the baby quilt blocks all together and off the wall. I need kiddy print for the backing. The dark ones I have just don't seem to fit. My last Jamestown class is Monday so I pulled it out and put some more rows together. I should be able to get all but one row finished by Monday. This is my QAYG project and I've done everything SITD but it looks so plain, I'm toying with a simple quilting design before I put the rows together and have to handle the entire quilt to do it.
QuiltE...I haven't heard what the bribe is and haven't taken pictures of my latest finishes. I don't have a decent place outside and on the bed, the lighting always messes up the colors.

We are gonna make a bid on the house when my Real Estate agent gits through w/some other appointments & has it drafted. He will call me.
Sue- the first thing I look for in a house is where will my sewin' room be.
After I git all the papers signed I'm goin' ta Odessa (20 min.s away) ta see my friend who is at her DGM's house taday. She lives in Bridgeport (about 5 1/2 hours away.)

Yes!! Barb, good choices. Like the natural light and the storage area built in. Of course, it may take a couple of FART journeys to 'stock' the new area and a quilting machine as well...one you can sit down and quilt on a large frame.

Well it did not take a month for bf to call me; she is feeling better, we talked for an hour and half this morning. She loved the news I had three baby guineas. They are sooo small and cute until they grow up and screech; but they eat every bug in sight until there are none. Dh is convinced to fix up a permanent nursery for baby chicks, ducks and/or guineas.

OKSGlad ... good for you, for the quick-trip for your big-trip! Well organized to have that done, instead of it being a last minute dash!

MiraB ... the weather is not looking good for outside shots. It's on my living room floor for now, so I might see if I can get something, somewhat acceptable for now. Yes! Yes!! YES!!!! add trip to Canada for QV!
http://quiltcanada2014.wordpress.com...t-canada-2014/
and only about 1-1/2 hrs from me ... plus you will get to see the famed Niagara Falls!

DublB ... I think QNSue has it right ... when you tell us about your quilting room, we'll know you're really serious! Good Luck! ........ Such familiarity to me as Odessa is about 3-1/2hrs drive to my east; Midland about 2-1/4 hrs north-east; Bridgeport 1/2 hr west!!!!

QNSue ... please heed GGal's thoughts and suggestions. Sometimes it is time to say "no", and step back from things/people. I like the alarm setting idea ... it would let your husband know you will be available later, but for now, you need your own time, for good health! And something that could be an ongoing strategy. After all, if you don't take care of yourself, no one else will ... and you won't be there to take care of your husband or others.

GGal ... I totally understand the picture dilemma ... what I am dealing with right now for my PC. So what would it take to bribe you?

Up from big nap at one o'clock...until now. I cut the kitchen work way back; and left the berries on the stove in pans. Dh is beginning to get the idea I need my rest.

BIL is coming down in the morning to help with the programing on embroidery machine...to understand how I need to download to load it into a flash drive for the Deco 340. That is all for tomorrow morning, then I am calling it a day again.

House keeping?????I don't see a thing wrong, but I am not looking.

Not the best pics, but about the best I can do til we get better weather!!
(says she as it pours down from the heavens!)

When I gave my Pony to my LAQ, I told her, that while it was somewhat "kiddish" with the prints, I still wanted to keep it more adult-like. We talked about different border options that would look good, but were still too child-like. And others, that while adult, just didn't work for the mood of the quilt. I'm really pleased with what resulted!

I don't think you can see it, but in the background with the telephone, the LAQ wrote in three hello's and one bye! And take a look at my "Canadian block" for the extra Canadian additions she include in the print sections! Neat eh? There's quite a few other "extras' like that, that she has added in for little surprises along the way. She said she had so much fun quilting this one, for the extras she could work in. Plus her kids (5 between 6+16) had quite the time checking out my work, and making suggestions.
