YEAHHH Mirabelle, your first Sylvia block! It came out great! You're working in the order they appear in the book?
I like your background fabric!

Laurie, I tried acupuncture a long time ago but because I already had surgery I was told it probably wouldn't work and it didn't. You can always give it a try!

Jan, another beautiful block!

At this point I will work in the order they are in, just as we did for the FWS and Pony Club quilts. Only 139 to go, mmmm, don't know how long this one will take. Like I said I am easily distracted, so many new quilts to make so many old ones to finish. All my ufo's are almost finished and all I have in my project boxes are wip's which are a long way off finishing, so what's one more right

Next time you visit with the twins please be sure to give them and Mick an extra hug from me, I miss the updates on them but it is so good to know they are doing so well..

Why do you think it took me 2 years to finish the first Sylvia? I'm like you, lots of WIP's but not as many finishes as you have!

I will give them an extra hug from you. There's not that much to tell, the doctors still didn't decide on Bram's surgery, my DS doesn't want to talk to me about it so I keep quiet. Mick is doing ok, I talked to him on the phone yesterday and he asked me when we go shopping again together. So I have a date on Saturday

I'm waiting for a bike to arrive. I don't know if I'm able to ride but I"m going to try again. I hate sitting in my car or at home with no alternative. I've tried before and it failed. After riding a bike I couldn't walk so that can be the same problem now. Let's wait and see.

OH OH my killer kitty is in attack mode LOL The blackbird is stealing her food again and she's sneaking upon him.
Looks like it's no dead bird today

QuiltE...it would be a blast to have a IRL quilting bee! Jan's blocks are airing out. Don't have a plan just yet. Congratulations on your "real" quilt. I've also heard that spray recommended and there is a thing called slider that some have found helpful.
Anael...love your outdoor getaway. You've done so much with so little. Thanks for posting your blocks too. It's nice to see how we occupy ourselves when we don't have a common project going.
QNS...thanks for the pics of your garden. Even with the tire gardens it has to be a lot of work but it is beautiful. Are you still resting? Hope you get your tables figured out and your sewing room like you want it.
Carrie...your DH's friend will certainly enjoy the quilt. What is your next project?
Honchey...so good to hear from your. I can't imagine your pain and not being able to walk. I hope something can be done for a permenant fix other than taking your feet off. Nice that your sister is helping you and deep cleaning is progressing.
Merciland...what fun to meet descendants of the PC boys and girls. Is there another quilt in the making?
Mirabelle...good news from the Dr and bad news from the Dr. How is your DS doing? Is he a good patient? I see how sewing quilts consumes you so I'm sure you will find a way to keep at it while your shoulder rests. Sylvia has some appliqué blocks too so you could do them by hand.
GrannyQ....what a beautiful block for Jan. Hope things are going well with your DH's treatments. Take care of yourself.
Jeanie...do I hear the sound if hammers and the smell of paint?
OK...weather can simply wipe out the best plans of a farmer...even when it comes down to the third or fourth rendition and I know how it can take it's toll. There is obviously no easy answer. Farming as long as you have, you've been through hard spots before. Do what you have to do to keep your sanity.
Sunday I worked on MBs. Not much sewing. Yesterday I was looking at the WW quilt on the design wall and it was BORING so I decided to piece a block in place of the fabric square. Decided on Clay's Choice and I like it. Only 35 more to make. It's hot and humid here today and most likely the AC won't be put in the window so I'll camp out by a fan and think cool.

JeanieG, CarrieM and GGal ... and to think I even have some of that spray. Forgot all about it! I've heard about the sliders too. They say they are so good, but no one will demo one to me! So at that price, I have held back on buying, til I know something more positive, other than from a sales person! They aren't very big, so another reason I am hesitant.

Anael
... I don't really know if it's the plexi that's the issue ... or probably more likely it's ME and getting used to the how to!!! I think you should just leave your quilt table set up all the time ... who needs a dinner table? You could always get a motor bike or scooter! You might want to upgrade the seat on your new bike, for more comfort.

Explanation re my set up ... my machine sets into a well (of sorts) in my desk. Then the plexi sits on top, so that all is level, except for the 1/4" rise to the plexi. When I was looking around, it seemed that all the tables were pretty much like this, so that there was adaptability from one machine to another, plus avoiding the need to cut a perfect hole for a specific machine. Some had recessed inserts, but they all seemed to be made of plexi or a plastic, and not the same wood as the desk top.

JanRN and GrannyQ ... what a nice addition to JanRN's block family! My how they play so well together. You two could have your very own swap!

MiraB ... and here we were all ready to ask for your recipe for this special Aussie Noddle Soup! Good timing with your "injury" ... that you had the UFOs caught up. As you recover, you can plan lots of new projects!!! And I see you have started with Sylvia ... just happened to start with your trademark roses! That'd be a pretty block for a matchy-matchy quilt top!

Honchey ... wonder if they may not get gooey, with it being refrigerated? What about adding some chopped rolos ... or heck, go all the way and just swirl in some caramel ice cream topping! I'm thinking Friendly's is ice cream? yeaaaaaaaaaa! mmmm Divinity Fudge ... my Mom always made it at Christmas time. You can add lots of chopped maraschinos for me!

MercysLand ... I'm sure Billy's family found your info quite interesting. No acupuncture knowledge to share, though many praise the practice! My own related story .... Chiropractic was so negatively perceived by most people, 33 yrs ago, when I had my first experience, but I came to the point where I was desperate and figured, kill or cure, it surely could not make me worse than I was getting under traditional care. I was willing to take the risk. So I went very hesitant, and surely did not tell many for a long time!!! So research about the procedure and whom you have it done by, then make an informed decision. It's such a pain to suffer with pain!

DublB ... good plan to let the little one end his day a little more positively at the park! How did the inspection go on the weekend? Any more conditions to be met yet?

CarrieM ... enjoying DD being finished her driver's ed? Just think how nice it will be when you can let her do the driving ............ and you stay at home!!

DDamsel ... YESSS!! ... pics pics pics and more pics please! Two raindrops ... I am sure the Albertans would like to share! We've had enough, and it keeps threatening, so it may get worse here before it's better. Meanwhile humidity is horrendous, with the humidex at 41°C! UGH! Now be sure to get back here .... sooner, than later!

Honchey ... alas! you are finally part of the MYSTERY .... when you can't remember who has you!

Finished my table topper last night. Got the binding started during the exciting end to the game and then the presentation of the Stanley Cup. Then decided, I'd better pack it in, and get some sleep! So perhaps tonight, a finish?

Does this give you a better view of my PC? Got it hung on the weekend .... you'll notice it a little wonky at the bottom, being that the quilt is taller than the wall. So need to pin the bottom up from the floor.
