That 'Sex in a Pan' thing........I think I'll pass this time LOL LOL
I'm enjoying my weekly pie.......strawberries + vanilla this time I should stop baking them every week though.

OK...I'm getting a taste of your miniatures. I'm doing the third block of SYE and the log cabin part finishes to a fat 1/4 inch.
Anael...it would be nice to ship you some warmer weather in exchange for the cooler. It's heading for the mid 90's today and very humid....more of the same tomorrow. I made a quick run to the grocery store this morning and sitting near a fan this afternoon.
QuiltE...stay cool! BTW...how many ribbons did you garner this past weekend?

Hi All,

There's no way I can keep up with all I've missed while I was away. We are back for a week and leave for the UK on the 18th. While I was gone the postie brought me a treat. Oksewglad made me a wonderful block, but I don't know the name.

GGal think of doing this without PP! Then you will get the full effect! Isn't it crazy I can't get into PP but I do like my mini's.
Yes hot here--TG for AC although I don't keep it exceedingly cold--too much change for when you do need to go out.
Been working on some UFO's and now have 200 mini 9P made. All from my precut trimmings--1" bin getting smaller :-) Have to work on 2 Christmas tabletoppers for wedding gifts--must be done by Friday night-better get hopping.
Brain dead today-- so will sign off.

I see you got it posted Janie--It's Strip Star from Electric Quilt block library. I played around and this is what a couple of quilts would look like with it--one horizontal setting the other on point. Reminds me of the Virginia Reel or Snail's trail.

I like the last block set up the best; nice looking quilt. You have 200 9P mini blocks done or 200 mini quilts done, OK.

That would be alot either way.

JanieW another beautiful MB has found a home, love the yellow rose fabric. Now must try and clean up my sewing room, everything got dumped in there after the weekend and I can't find anything.

My embroidery machine is at the fix it shop, apparently I stripped the gears I asked her how that happens and said "I use the machine", well its not a piece of furniture. so no embroidery for a few weeks. Chat later

GGal ... two red/first ribbons! ... one for the baby quilt (pink, Irish chain with novelty print) and one for Granny59 for her Mighty Mini Dresden's. No ribbon for my FWS, but I did find out that it was in the last 6 of the 18 in the class. Reasons were left with each entry, and the FWS they complimented the piecing accuracy and the choice of quilting design ... though felt there were too many fabrics. It was clear that they did not like "busy", when you saw the other entries and placings (top 4 placed). Pretty much all had lots of open space to allow for the quilting to have a spot to be featured. While no ribbon, I was very happy to know it made it to the final 6. And quite pleased with the other two.

JanieW and OKSGlad ... oh that is so lovely and fresh! and what a nice pattern when you see a whole quilt done with it.

JanieW ... I like your style ... a holiday to rest up and get ready for the next holiday!!

MiraB ... of course you would like the roses! So it does look like you need a new machine!!!!!!!!!

QuiltE,

If only it was a holiday to rest up. We drove 1200kms to meet up with some friends from 41 years ago. Five of us who started out our married life and had our kids together all meet up once a year. None of us live in the original community where we started, but we gather once a year. This time it hit really close to our holiday in the UK but wouldn't have missed it. The 1200km drive back was tiring and then I knew I would be doing tomatoes today. Rest tomorrow then back at it til we go. We had a blast so it was worth it. Next year I think I will fly back!

I mailed my Sept MB to day. I will likely be away again when mine arrives so I hope the sender will be patient with me!

I am exhausted so am hitting the hay early tonight. Sweet dreams, everyone.

Hi Everyone, Very pretty block Janie & OK...Your blocks all together will work very well...

Lots of chatter with all of you and I must say I have been reading it all almost every day...

I have been very miserable the last couple of months...first with the bursitis/left hip and now my right knee needs to be replaced...I have been trying very hard not to even think about it but when I get up to walk...I can't go 3-4 steps without stopping...it hurts when I sit/stand/trying to sleep...ankle & knee swelled so badly the other day I thought I was going to have to go to the emergency room..I used the TENS unit & ice on it and it returned to almost normal the following morning...I've been using my left foot to sew with and It's very herky jerky so I haven't been doing much of that either..I don't like to use the stop/start feature on my machine..I can't seem to stop it quickly enough and I mess up the stitches/seam...I have not been a happy camper!!! I know what has to be done and I'm dreading it..I just wanted to let you all know what's going on with me....
