QNSue ... no not gone ... just busy, trying to cram the catch up, and do things before I take off again, so have not been around as much.

Yes, only six minutes or so .... but the time does not take away the risks and concerns. It's serious stuff ... and one needs to be sure to follow the pre/post-op instructions. If there is anything you are unsure about, ask the Dr, and do not make your own assumptions or interpretations. Better to err on the side of caution!

About the pre/post eye drops ... you will not find that they affect you much, other than for a few minutes around putting them in, you may find your vision a bit blurrier than normal. Depending on what kind it is, you might find a burn in your throat from post-nasal drip ... simply enough countered/prevented by pinching your nose for a few minutes after. I found the best thing to do was to put the eye drops in, and then lay down for a few minutes .......... a sneaky way to get a few minutes rest, all on Dr's orders!!! Plus I just felt it was good to let them "soak" in for a bit ... and I could pinch to avoid that burn!

The important/critical thing is to FOLLOW the instructions ... if you are told they are to be one hour apart, or four hours apart (or whatever!) , DO EXACTLY what they say and don't turn one into two or four into six, etc!!! I set the alarm on my phone for the time, so I do not miss doing it. Likewise, take heed as to how active/inactive you can be, particularly post-op.

Because of my other eye issues, I've been eye-dropping for 14 yrs now (and will for the rest of my life) .... I still need a mirror, but the rest I've got down pat!! To me, it's a small price, to keep my vision ...... and freedom!

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

Part of the problem with me is that I had the left knee replaced in '04...my right ankle was dislocated, fractured in 3 places and the little skinny bone on the outside was crushed in an accident in '94...was in a wheelchair for 3 months before I could stand on it..between the two occurences there was tremendous pain& I have no tolerence for it...Just thinking about all the stuff you have to take makes me shivver....the ankle still hurts & swells occasionally and now the knee just compounds everything....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....I did get a couple of hours sleep last night..had the TENS unit pulsing whenever I woke up...I can walk about 10 ft now before pain starts....

QNS, I pray everything goes well for you and please heed the advice given here especially from those having similar situations...put all aside and concentrate on what needs to be done for yourself....exchanging some phone #'s is a good idea...

GOOd to hear from all the travelers...we miss you when you're away for a few days... Janie, the UK...nice!!! do you have family there???

I'm going to try to finish my September MB...had to change a section I didn't like...Handwork ripping is easy watching TV...cutting & pinning too...One section of the first "spike" is done..I think it's ok..I don't see the "pop" I expected... I have to pack for the return home...mostly my sewing stuff, no machines just stuff...I'm going to get one of the office rolling chairs and use that to get around by using my good leg...used to do that in rehab when that knee was done...
I'll be in the back seat going home...I'll be able to keep my leg elevated under a pillow...we leave on Friday 6 a.m. I better get a start now..it'll take me 2 days...QuiltE, DH drove me to - - - - - last nite & I won the last game..split it with another person and brought home $109...now he wants his share for being the taxi driver..Later, H.

Honchey .... And here I was thinking, how terrible, for you to miss your much loved -----!!!! Thank goodness! Glad that you got some (not much!) sleep last night ... maybe a nap or six today?

As for DH and his fees, tell him, you could present a bill for all your back wages!!! (....for how many years? ) Oh dear, MrHonchey is going to hate me for sure! You'd better let him have an extra round or six of golf before departure, or else, he'll be finding every bump in the road as he drives you home! Take care!!!

Honchey, tell the mister the money has already been spent on his meals! Then go on a FART trip with the $$$.

The x-rays were taken; it may take the Drs' office a couple of days to get back to me...took five of the knees, sound like they found something from their conversation, but will see; not second guessing. Worse comes to worse and its just muscle problems we will go from there.,,PT or whatever.

One day at a time, Honchey, one day at a time. You do need your rest, though....so you can keep up with Mr.H.

Guess I'd better go put away groceries; apparently dh's services ended at the door, after he carried the groceries inside.

One of the ladies in the guild I'm now a member of was crocheting an afghan for charity and I fell in love with the pattern so I decided to make a throw for myself...I've been working on it off and on..thought you might like to see what else I do...I also posted a photo on the creativity thread that QuiltE started of the notions pouch I made with the friendship fabric...

I've been reading and catching up on all the posts for the last week or so. Sorry so many of you are having problems. Hope all goes well with your treatments and you're back to new in no time.

You have posted so many beautiful blocks and projects it would take me forever to comment on them all. I apologize for not doing so but we're getting thunderstorms and I don't know how long I'll have internet but I love all the beautiful things you've posted.

I've worked full time for the last few weeks and haven't had any time for anything else. How come I was so organized when I worked full time for 40 years and now when I get free time I crash? Oh wait, I'm older now. I decided that I'm going to continue working but only one day a week. Just enough to keep me in FART money LOL. We did hire a Med Assistant and I think she'll work out well. (I have rulers older than her!!!!) But I thank you ladies for all the kind suggestions and notes you sent me to help me with this decision--it wasn't easy but I'm happy with it and also very thankful that I could make this choice. Now, to get on with sewing--I've been suffering withdrawal.

Oh Jan, I'm so happy you decided only one day a week!!! I love my job when I get called in but lately it takes me longer to get back to normal if it's more than 2 days in a row....
I guess it's supposed to get cooler after the storms???
I just sent Anael my MB for approval..I really hope she approves...I don't want to redo anymore...color choices that is...I can't find my chart for who I have for next month...I think I might be in trouble...I might have left it in NJ...I hope so...I don't know how I did it...My commitments are done for this month except for the spikes...I think everyone likes the idea of being Spikers...I contacted QOTS to let them know what a happy group we have..and all the gorgeous blocks being made...I hope she stops by to take a peek and say Hi... I'm off to get on my roller chair and go from room to room to gather my "sewing stuff" to pack it up...

Honchey I love that crochet rug you are making, I made a chevron rug for DD and swore that was my last crochet rug ever but now mmmm I will have to rethink that decision. That is something I have always done in front of the tv at night otherwise I twiddle my thumbs just need to keep my fingers busy..
