JanRN ... Good thing it's Friday, and you're in nurse mode!

OKSGlad ................... and drag DH along a-kicking-and-a-screaming for his update shot too!!! Then plead with DS and his brood to do the same!

Anael ... hope your day gets better! Wish me luck on the roads today. Friday drivers are idiots at the best of times. Add on the 13th ........... YIKES!!!!!!!!!

Jan...it's a good thing that you're here to keep us medically in line!...and I'm so happy for you that you got the retirement decision made. Welcome to your next stage of life.
OK...I sewed my finger into a stocking hat I was making for my little brother when I was about 8. Mom was outside and I wasn't really supposed to be playing the the sewing machine...treadle...so I backed the needle out and I was busted when she saw what happened. Didn't matter that I was keeping my DB occupied. I still remember the disbelief when my finger wouldn't move away from the needle.
Honchey...so glad you're feeling better. Happy travels.
QNS...what a great block from GrannyQ....remind us again on the 19th....glad you're getting a second opinion. I talked to a woman on Wednesday that had had a blood vessel break in her brain and it took them 2 months to finally give her a correct diagnosis!
Anael...thanks for the laughs....not everyone would tell on themselves for spilling the coffee twice! I do hope your day has settled down a bit.
i have all my MB's done although I want to modify one for sure, maybe two. I have to get a picture of this months to the inspector and get it in the mail.
Yesterday I discovered that I had 2 borders to attach to the Jamestown although only one to quilt. I got that to the point that I have one seam left...remember this is QAYG...and the binding. I want to cook up some apples since it cooled down so not much sewing today. Stay safe everyone...

Yikes, OK, keep those fingers back out of the way of the needle!

My Mother was born on a Friday the 13th. I think of that numerous times a year since she died in 1981 of cancer. Had many problems in her life, but there were good memories, as well. I can see how blessed I was by looking at her life, as Mothers often look for their children to have better lives...it has happened in many ways. She was a kind soul who never said a bad thing about anyone else and that is quite an inherited factor, I try to life up too.

Cooler this week, wonderful weather. I am resting the knee, staying out of the drivers side of the car, staying out of the car and truck, and truly trying to rest it more. I have read two books, sewn in the sewing room on a MB I need to finish as soon as I can. Claim you are Irish for the Day, and the 13th is your *lucky* day. Have a good day!!

RE: tetanus shot--that's one thing our MD's check with routinely. So that's okay. I did think of it Jan shortly after it happened. My grandfather survived lockjaw when he was very young. Not sure of the circumstances and now everyone's gone who would know.

Cake's done off to town I go.

Back! safe and sound ... can I make it thru the rest of the 13th safely, here at home?

OKSGlad ... good that your Drs do keep an eye on that! Though I bet your Grandfather's story, is enough to remind you. We had a neighbour that survived too after a long long hospital stay. He was one of those people everyone loves and respects! They ran a large elevator business and his DD nagged all the farmer's around to get their shot, and not risk being like her Dad. She came short of setting up a clinic ... which I was surprised she didn't do. Chances are the medics wouldn't cooperate because of the location. What kind of cake are we going to devour in the RV?

GGal ... did you get your apples done? I did mine the other day, in two crockpots, then froze the applesauce in yogurt containers.

Cooler here today again ... brrrr!!!!!!!
Back into needing our woolies ... highest I saw it while gone was 10C, but mostly single digits.
So I think that also tells me, that I should do some baking tonight!!

QuiltE, do you only bake when it's single digits? What are you baking?

Oh heavens no!
Though there is something "comforting" about natural oven warmth combined with the aromas!

I do try to avoid turning on the oven, when it's naturally oven-like thanks to the ridiculous HHH weather we had earlier this week!

What? cookies for munchies at the fair next week .... would do something zucchini like being that I have one of the beasts in the frig, though so far, I have received no inspiration, and don't feel like experimenting with one that is not tried and proven!

And while the oven is on, I should toss in for supper too!!!

I can't help you with zucchini recipes either as I don't like it. Cookies I do like
I'm calling it a day, took my antibiotics, will feed KK and go to bed and read a bit. Tomorrow is another day, hopefully I won't need that much painkillers anymore!

Hope that you ahd KK had a good movie night together!
Oven is on ... Farmer's Daughter Cookie recipe is ready to brew up.
Found a zucchini loaf that I have made before, that's OK, but not phenomenal.
Will make it if the energy and interest is still there, after the cookies are done.

Here's to a good sleepy night for you Anael ......
