JanRN I am machine appliqueing the blocks with a small blanket stitch, DD is doing half and I am doing the other half. Trying to share the load Have attached a small pic to show you the stitches

Honchey my thoughts are with you and your family and I hope they find out what is wrong with your precious GS and are able to treat it quickly.

Anael I hope you are feeling better soon and that kidney stones are not found, they are nasty

QE - slow down a little we miss you

QNS I hope you enjoy your day sewing and make progress on your projects

Carriem - let them cook

DDamsel I have EQ6, thought it was the thing I had to have, spent a couple of evenings going through the tutorials then gave up, also purchased the Block Book. It looks good on the bookshelf maybe one day I will spend the time and learn the program.

JeanieG I hope you have somewhere to retreat and stay cool.

I am off to the sewing room, applique is so boring

tried to draw quilterscache.com block in EQ7. because it would not print true, regardless of how I tried to set it up. Disappointed . Guess I will have to do something different. sigh.

Honchey, hope the little guy gets better quickly.

Mirabelle, you always do beautiful work.

QuiltE, have a good trip at fairs.

DGS has an intestinal virus & the swollen nodes prevented him from going to the bathroom...he is on the mend after going to the john with the help of laxatives & suppositories..no antibiotics as it is viral and his temps are much lower but not totally gone...He is now home resting..no school for a day or two...I'm so glad they found out what it was...I feel much better now...

Mirab, is that by machine?? I don't think mine does that altho it has 1.5 million stitches that I've never looked at. Maybe I should get out my instruction manual and check them out. That really looks like hand stitching--thanks for sharing the pic; I'll start playing with my machine.

Anne, great news about your DGS. When we were little if my sister or I complained of a tummy ache the first question my mother would ask was "did you poop?" That was the start of my nursing career LOL. Glad he's on the mend.

Jeanie, good to hear from you. Stay cool.

I have EQ7 with BlockBase and I love it. I am not good with it (like OKSewglad) but I use it to re-size blocks and check color combos. QNS, I never have good luck with the patterns from Quilters Cache when I try to use them in EQ7. They never turn out the right size but with so many to choose from in EQ7/BB, I can usually find a similar if not the exact block. DD, I say go for it. Watch for sales on the EQ website (sign up for their emails); even tho I don't use all the functions, I've gotten my money's worth out of it. I print all my blocks for paper piecing in any size I want. I love it.

Honchey--glad to hear DGS has a diagnosis and is on the mend.

I am happy to let my girls cook...it's just when I want a recipe and I can't find it that it is a little frustrating.

I woke up with a headache so didn't get as much done as I wanted to. I started sewing down the binding on the airplane quilt today, but spent most of my "clubhouse time" cutting materials for the cards/invites so they are ready for tomorrow afternoon. We will be making 40, but with two of us it shouldn't take too long.

I'm gone two days and now to catch up. Great block dublb! mirabelle hit the definition of scrappy right on the head. Must get mine in the mail this week now.

mirabelle I will not show my grands your lovely princess quilt--I don't want to have to make 5. They'd all want one.

Scary time for your little one Honchey. Glad everything is going to be okay. Chuckled at your "did you ?" Jan. Dairy farmers are always looking at cow poop--especially when an animal is sick!

Have a good time at Fair QE!
Seems like we have lots of walking wounded! Carrie--hope those migraines go away and stay away. Rest easy. The same to you Anael. FYI can hardly tell that the finger was stabbed through and I got the 2 quilts done you can see them at:

EQ7--you know I love mine. I can spend as much time in it "making" quilts as I do here on the QB. These two I "made" before I sewed them together.

Still trying to catch up on being gone all weekend so better take care of things.

JeanieG ... you two deserve this get-away so much! ENJOY it, despite the dreadful heat. And soon you can be home again, into your "new" home. Yes, I'm sure you will be "in heaven" to get life back to normal. Insurance nver covers the inconvenience, does it?

MiraB ... your blanket stitch is looking so good! I have a quilt of my Mom's that was all blanket stitch applique, by hand, and have always liked this look. So, Maybe this is a way that I can become friends with applique?

Honchey ... I'm so glad that you now know what was wrong with your Little Guy. Here's hoping that he returns to good health quickly. Now for you to get better too!

JanRN ... **laughing** at how you started your nursing career! I now have visions of you playing with your dollies and asking them, did you poop?

And now OKSGlad you have me laughing more, thinking about JanRNs farming education and how it has expanded!!!! Yes, JanRN we dairy farmers are great poop watchers!

CarrieM ... Maybe you will have to get your girls started with their own recipe books/files, so they can leave yours in tact! In years to come, they will be ever-so-thankful!!! migraine

OK--I really like the blue one...but then I am drawn to the metallics these days.

A friend of mine let me try out her EQ4...I know the newer versions have lots of updates, but it gave me an idea that I do eventually want to get it. I have learned a lot more using the DJ EQ program...I have lessons 1&2 done and am half way through lesson 3 (of 7).

Thankfully my headache didn't hold on all day!
