Jeanie, what a wonderful gift! I've never seen those lights here but I have to admit, I didn't look either. Maybe..........The kits aren't that expensive but with shipping it will cost a fortune

Here are some more pictures.

QuiltE, that block is gorgeous! You're a lucky lady

Here is the Jelly Roll Jam top. Do you think it needs another border?

The small border looks black in the picture but it's dark blue.

Anael I would put another border on it, how wide is the blue border, maybe double that width. "to me" it kind of looks unfinished, just my opinion.

Need to update my travel movements, I am now driving to town on Sunday to help DD make 9 wallets that have been ordered, following Friday driving DS to airport, he is going to a concert in Brisbane, driving back on Sunday to pick him up (I get to drive his car) Then on the 12th going to a Christmas party. So much for staying home..

I have a list of "to do's" for December that I want to start tackling, but first I have to hand sew the binding on DD's Christmas quilt, yes it is finished and quilted. I gave it to the longarmer on Thursday and she handed it back to me on Friday. It ended up 95 inches square, might take me a few days to accomplish as the weather has turned hot and humid.

Carriem I played with the 50 Fab Stars today and I love the 10 inch blocks, finished the first block and can't wait to make more,
I also made my first Sylvia's Bridal Sampler block today working with the "new" fabric.
Now it is time for bed, DH goes back to work tomorrow, then it is serious sewing time

It's good to be back

Anael I forgot to tell you how beautiful your family is, Mick and Bram together, oh that made my heart burst, and the three together, words can't convey how good that is.

Oh Anael those big blue eyes and blonde hair, what a gorgeous pair.

Did I ever tell you that my grandmother was Danish?

Ok that's enough from me for one night, only 68 more posts to 2000

Thanks Karen and no, you never told but now we know

I think a red border or with one of the fabrics used for the top? The blue border is 2" finished.

Forgot to tell you: my hair had almost the same colour as Mick's hair when I was a little girl.

Jeanie--Have a fun trip next week. I am sure your siblings will love their gift.

Mirabelle--Great MB for QE...very nice.

QE--Sounds like you've been productive...getting Frosty almost done...yay! Your MBs look very nice together.

Dublb--Bummer on the house not closing today, at least they didn't back out.

Aneal--cute pictures of the boys and you too! I think a red border would look good unless you have one of the fabrics from the middle of the quilt left...then I would use that.

It's been cold here too. Snow yesterday at least 2". Got a fire built up in the stove, but will need to bring more wood in before the day is over. At work yesterday I got the backing for the orange tulip quilt I was hired to finish. I am going to take that and the crazy quilt to my mom's Thursday to get them sandwiched...she has a nice open, finished basement. I don't have anywhere I can lay a quilt out flat this time of year.

Have a great day!

Jeanie, what great gifts! If you get a chance when you finish one, I'd love to see it all quilted and lit up.

QE, that's a very special and lovely block from Mirab. What a nice addition to your MB quilt-it's going to be so soft and pretty.

Anael, what a beautiful family you have. I just have to smile when I see those beautiful blue eyes. I like your Christmas JR quilt and I agree it needs another border. Do you have any of the light blue with Santas left? I'd like that or a red border.

Carrie, I've never used those pp squares but at that price I'd try them. I use copy paper; at work we get tons of faxes with cover sheets or duplicate pages. As long as there's nothing on them that identifies a patient, they save all of them for me. In the past month, I've brought home a stack of "wasted" paper that's at least 2" high. I also bought some Carol Doak pp paper but haven't tried it yet--don't need to as long as I collect the copy paper from work.

I'm working in the Bat Cave today--snowing like crazy here. I made "Alaska" from the 50 Fab stars book and I trimmed off the 4 corners to make it an octagon. I'm going to finish it as a 12" candle mat for a quick grab bag gift I need. I love those blocks.
