February does seem like its getting closer; Is it everyone's decision to let the blocks get acquainted and not revel them until then? I have a bad habit of going back to see what everyone's MB looks like 'cause my memory does not remember everyone's blocks. True, we are nearer the end and some may not wish to show all they have collected to date and probably everyone's memory is better than mine...so I am merely asking because several have not shown theirs lately...as is their privilege, I guess, since it is theirs and their decision.

Honchey, DH loved your Rice Pudding, said it was so like his Mother's that he really has enjoyed it. Ms. Claus discovered no flour in the house, so no cookies were made today, and therefore, nothing will be shipped tomorrow. I will send out smoke signals when they depart. Garage is in better shape but not ready to put the cars in yet. Another nice day tomorrow by forecast, and lets hope we all have a sunny day.

QNS Chocolate Slice is a biscuit slice, will find the recipe and post it later. Almost finished cleaning my room and putting things back is a chore.

Good news from the Doc, everything is within normal parameters. I can start breathing again

I haven't posted all my blocks for a month, just waiting on the next two, November is a little late but it is coming and then there is the December block. Maybe next week the postie will be nice to me??

Great MB posted...look forward to seeing some more.

Mirabelle--great news from the doctor!!

I went to the doctor today too...he did an ultrasound of my shoulder looking all around and couldn't find anything visible. So, the next step is a EMG. He thinks there might be something going on that's nerve related since I have weakness in my arm. My appt is on Jan 9th...in the meantime I am to take a pill to help reduce the nerve pain.

Home most of tomorrow so maybe I'll be able to get to the clubhouse. I am making some minky scarves for the kids for Christmas, so need to get those done. Also I have a pillowcase to make for one of DD's friends. I don't work again until the Saturday after Christmas. I hope to get a couple small projects done...none of which should take too long. It's just a matter of getting started.

JeanieG ... likewise, I get bored doing matchy matchy quilts! Last night I was FMQ doing swirls all over, and was bored with that too, and thinking, oh how much more fun it would be to FMQ a sampler than an all over pattern. Then there's the part of ADD that causes so many WIP and PhDs! Any sneak previews of your BH WIP?

QuiltE - Here are the first three steps of the Bonnie Hunter Mystery. I am not done with all the steps yet, the chevron 2nd step takes a lot of time.

OH GG ya are just sharin' alot taday! I just love your pineapples!

I went & bought the fabric for my Dec MB. Sigh I can't believe that I did this. (This is what I git for goin' & readin' ahead & plannin' 2 blocks at the same time.) I did a rush job & it's alright but if I had the time I'd go & git more fabric & switch the colors. I also would have washed the glue out before mailin' it but it's just gotta go as is. I'll mail it out tamarrow!

Here is my Chocolate Slice Recipe

Base
4 oz butter
1/2 cup brown sugar firmly packed
1 cup desiccated coconut
1/2 cup plain flour sifted
1/3 cup Self Raising flour sifted
1 tablespoon cocoa
1 egg beaten

Melt butter, stir in all other ingredients.

Grease an 8 x 11 tin (I line mine with baking paper) Spread mixture evenly into tin, wet hands works best for this.
Bake in moderate oven 20 minutes until just firm to touch.

Icing
1 cup icing sugar
1 tablespoon cocoa
1 teaspoon soft butter
1 tablespoon milk approximately

Mix all together to make a thick paste

As soon as slice is out of the oven spread icing mixture over it. Let stand for 10 minutes. You can sprinkle a little coconut on top is you wish. Slice into bars and allow to cool in tin.

Enjoy
