Janie, thanks for the link. That's what I'm looking for but those are definitely out of my budget. But it gave me some ideas of what to do for some months.

Hi All ... Back from Christmas ... a tiring day!
Some interesting discussions while I was gone about what next for this group.

I still have my BBs to make into a quilt and soon, a full set of the MBs, ... and of course, a bunch more PhDs lurking in those project boxes! Then there are the wannabe projects that keep haunting me!! Though I must say that I've been pretty good lately at not starting new projects, just because I want to ... only ones that have to be for a specific gift!! Pat myself on the back!! I've enjoyed them all ... and yes, want to do it again.

However, I would like a breather from "making" to mail. Maybe later but for now, I really do not the looming deadline, so that I can focus on some of the other sewing I want to do. I hope no one will take offense to my decision and rationale.

Even if we do not have a specific group project on the go, we can still stick here as a group. No one is going to shut us down. That is, unless we break the board rules, which I do not foresee, as we have not had a problem in that way til now. So why would it change?

What is a treasure to me ... is the friendships we have gained here. The openness in sharing our lives is special. Knowing that we have a "safe" place to come and share our quilting successes, ask questions, ponder our dilemmas, and ask for advice and input is over and above. Thank you everyone for making this a good place to gather.

Good news ... found my one backing today ... mauve on white.
Nothing appropriate for the other ... so it might be the tulips. Will work on this one first and if I get into any other stores will continue the search, before committing to the tulips.

And now .... Adieu (for tonight!)

Here's a preview for you of the 4PP that I have ready for sandwiching.
Sorry, it's not the best photo for colour or clarity. Will have to get a better one later.
All the fabrics came from my stash, including the 4PP fabric, when I started it.

Here's the virgin fabric. To the right, the black with the blingy scroll work is the border.

A closer look at a few of the 4PPs!

QuiltE, Your quilt is lovely. Like the purple and greens that you used to frame each block. It is amazing how the focus fabric can create such beautiful squares, each one so different.

I made one several years ago. Was fun to make. The instructor called it "Four Patch Posey".

How many more months are left with SYE? We have just one month (well two for those who don't have Jan done yet) for MBs. Maybe we could take a couple months and work on finishing FW, PC, BB, and MB quilts. Then in say April or May start a new project for those interested?

I have never started FW, have one PC quilt finished and the other ready for quilting. My BB is finished and once I get my last couple MBs will choose sashing/border fabrics and get that one together. I am thinking maybe a minky backing to make it extra cuddly.

Night all!

PS QE--your 4PP looks great! Two of my favorite colors too.

A break wouldn't hurt a bit. I know I won't be wanderin' away from ya'll anyway.

I am for a break also. I want to get caught up and get some of my quilts that need quilting quilted!

Carriem there are only two more SYE blocks to be posted on the QOTS website but I think we are going until March, as we had December off.

I am going to go with the consensus of the group on what to do next, I am just happy to sew with great friends. I would just cry my heart out if we disbanded (very dramatic right), take some time off to finish projects, always a good idea. We have lots of time and heaps of ideas to float around. By the time SYE is finished, MB's are made into beautiful quilts and BB's (still haven't made mine into a wallhanging) are all finished the year will be half gone

And as always we have other projects to share with each other.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh QuiltE, your 4PP is gorgeous ! ! ! ! !

We will stay together as a group, won't we? Even if we all would go our seperate ways, we always come here to tell our stories and listen to the stories of our friends! I don't want to miss you all ! !
Though I didn't make the MB's, I vote for a break too. We could make our own BOM with blocks we pick ourselves. We can do that, can't we? Would be fun

Anael...beautiful quilts for the birthday! The back of Bram's looked like you intended it to be that way.
QuiltE...your latest is breath taking. Favorite colors for me too.
DD...so happy you have sewing to use for destressing. Beautiful things often come out of pain.
Mirabelle....be careful...you have a reset button somewhere that you will accidentally bump and you will be off to the races again. Enjoy the lull and just putter.
I too vote for a break. I have BB, and will have the mystery blocks and SYE to put together. I have a couple of BOMs started for the year, some scrappy sewing, and several UFO's in project boxes plus the flimsies to quilt. I do enjoy checking in daily even when I don't comment just to see what's going on in your world. You have all challenged me to improve my skills. I agree with Mirabelle too....all of the blocks I've received have been very well done but I do admit that I didn't always send the first one I made because it wasn't good enough.
My car is now running but with the bad weather, I didn't miss it too much. I've had to postpone a couple of hair appointments and am just about ready for a dog tag though. It was 34 degrees this morning! A heat wave. Rain is forecast the next several days so snow is melting and we are preparing for flooding along the river. Chicken stew to make for the weekend. Have a good day everyone!
