Wow Gardnergal, those Pineapple Blocks are wonderful. My DH walked in when I had them on the computer screen, and he was drawn to them immediately. Beautiful!

Anael, hope you can get that infection cleared up real soon, there is hardly anything worse than a bladder infection, they are so uncomfortable.

I wonder why sewing is making you so exhausted QNS? I find it very relaxing. Is it your eyes that are having trouble with all the close work and concentration?

Sorry all of you are still having horrible weather. It has been very windy here the past week, with temperatures in the 80's! We hate when the "East Winds" blow here, so drying. We are in drought conditions, the hills are so dry and the fire hazard is very high. We only had 3 1/2" of rain all of last year!

Click on the photo you want to resize. Click on Export on the bottom of the screen. When screen comes up, click on "Resize to:" and change to 640 pixels. Click on Export button on the bottom of the page. Make note of where it is being exported to on "Export Location" on the top of the page, or change it to a place you can find it on your computer. Use that photo to post here. Hope that is understandable!

By Golly, I do believe you got it, Honchey. I usually export to the desktop and 'find' the photos there that I export, then later dump them in the trash. You have made beautiful floral blocks that brighten up the day.

No, Jeanie, I do not think its my eyes that is making me so tired. My whole body feels tired. When I got home from taking dh to the doctor on Wednesday, I could hardly put one foot ahead of the other. My left leg muscles have really hurt the last couple of days. Finally, today I took an arthritis pain relief pill given to me by the doctor we go see. It seems to help the pain, relieving it so I can stand it. Probably need vitamin D and B12 to feel better. The doctor's office here is filled up with people with the flu, etc., very sick, its a place I do not want to go to for awhile...they are so terribly busy.

The snow storm that blew into here with dark clouds and high winds really closed down Des Moines with 40 accidents on I-80; it took bf's daughter four and half hours to pick up her kids after work and to get home., she normally did in less than an hour. And weathermen are saying Saturday will be a repeat of that.

Oh my QNS, so sorry for the bad weather. Those storms seems so awful, to this California gal! Darn, hope you are feeling better soon!

Glad you figured out how to resize Anne! Those blocks look amazing!

Honchey ... I sure am enjoying that breath of spring air with your lovely fabric and 4PPs that are growing.

DDamsel ... such good news on DGD! Have fun with your long weekend retreat? Not here, so what is your long weekend for?

GGal ... so good to see/hear from you! You know MiraB well enough to know it was not my powers of persuasion, but that she wanted to do it! What a great pineapple salad!

JanRN ... I'm thinking of you today, as you go thru those final steps. Yes, I am sure it is a normal feeling ... kind of reliving the loss and now knowing it is all over for sure.

QNSue ... your body is telling you something. So time to listen and slow down. You know, it is OK to have a nap when you are feeling that way.

QNS, There are days I have a hard time getting out of bed with the same symptoms..It feels like the flu...it lasts for a few days & then it just goes away...I feel for you...I know what it's like..
I'm taking the blocks with me and another piece of fabric to play with the same way..I need a variety of things to keep me going it seems..
It's good to hear from everyone...now to finally get the machine out of the car...I never got around to it yesterday...

Hi everyone
I had a busy day Thursday, first day of DH being home and there seemed to be lots to do. Then Friday I left home at 6.30 in the morning and didn't get home until 5 in the afternoon. Had to stop in at DD's and pick up her Dear Jane Book then had to drop into my longarmer and pick up my Scrappy Stars (pic when I have then binding on) then spent the day at my embroidery/patchwork club. I was so tired when I got home DH helped me cooked dinner.

Bev I feel for you not being able to use your embroidery machine, you really only need the $$$$ software if you are going to digitize your own designs. There is a downloadable program called Embird that you can use for 30 days free trial (I think) might be worth investigating. After the free trial period you can either purchase the program (not many $$$) or not, so no harm done on the credit card. I have used it for a few years now and it is pretty easy, although I really only just resize my designs in it. As I now have the software for my Pfaff.
psstttt I ALWAYS wear my big girls panties

Carriem I hope you are feeling better real soon and can get back to your sewing as I know you love doing it. Take Care.

JanRN you are in my thoughts as you finalise everything. Just take some quiet time for yourself and process your thoughts.<3

Anael I hope that they urologist can prescribe the correct antibiotic and clear up that infection once and for all, hugs coming your way.

GGal I am so pleased you liked the blocks, so I will tell everyone why there is two. I made the multi coloured block first and as each of your blocks were revealed I felt that it wouldn't "fit" Discussed it with the Quilt Inspector and she agreed so I made the blue block and decided to send both for you to choose which you wanted to use or both, its yours decision.

NinaSue please take is easy and rest if you need to, your body is trying to tell you something.

If I have missed anyone out of this long post I apologise, I have to get back to the sewing room to work on more of these little babies. It looks a little wonky but it is correct size

CARAMEL WALNUT SLICE

Base
1/2 cup self raising flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup coconut
2 oz butter melted (or a little more if needed)

Sift flour into bowl, add sugar and coconut, mix well, add melted butter and mix well, if it seems too dry add a little more butter.
Press mixture into a greased and lined square cake tin and bake in a moderate over for 15 minutes.
Now to make the topping

Topping
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup coconut
3 oz walnut pieces (or more if you want it a bit more nutty)
1 1/2 cups brown sugar lightly packed
1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Lightly beat eggs and vanilla, add all other ingredients. Spread mixture over partly cooked base and bake a further 25 to 30 minutes or until topping is cooked. Cool in tin and cut into squares or slices.
