This is a project that has been on the back burner for quite some time. Found it when I tidied up my cupboard. I first tried to go outside my comfort zone with fabric choices and it didn't work, so yesterday pulled some fabric and decided to have another go at it. I already have quite a bit of the bias appliqued. Don't know yet whether it will get buried in the back of the cupboard or stay in clear sight...still thinking about it

Let me know what you think !!!!!

Good morning. Talk of roses, and fruit trees, and warm weather---I am so jealous! Woke up to ANOTHER six inches of snow and now it's raining ice on top of it. Schools are closed again. Advised to stay off roads because all of the Road Departments are out of salt. The plows are out but there's so much snow piled up at intersections that there's no where to put more. Very dangerous to try to pull out of side streets. Nothing has melted in a long time; we have at least 18" in the yard and on deck. But! Baseball Spring Training starts today! This is a good day to stay in the Bat Cave. It is supposed to warm up to 40* this week so maybe the end of this loooooong winter is in sight?

Mirab, that's beautiful. What size is your block? I love those colors. Do you make your own bias strips?

Mirabelle, I think that is sooooo neat and delicate and lovely. If you toss it, throw it my way...I think its wonderful...and roses are in it!

JanRN, sorry you have more snow...ours is melting off and almost gone...hope you get the high temperatures, too, and all of yours disappears, too! Thirty days until Spring arrives! Hang in there, its coming!! Going on my FART trip tomorrow and I am excited about it (even though no dough to spend, I will have fun!) getting out and seeing all the new ideas in quilting.

Everyone have a good day.

Well Jan, we missed the rain--so far. Snow plow just went by. 2 hour late start for kiddos today. More precipitation on Thursday and it's to be warm enough to be rain. Yes we are all tired of winter. Turkeys (wild) were up in the yard yesterday. Think they were looking for "grit" as there is none showing on the roads and DH got down to the gravel yesterday.

Small GMFG quilt for DGD all pieced. Now how to finish it off--applique it to a border? make more hexi's and turn under the edge?

Book work to do, later ladies!

Yes JanRN I made the bias and hand appliqued it. The blocks are 17inches and there are 20 to the pattern. Each block will be a different colour way. Well that is the plan anyway..

I just need to get some projects finished and stop digging through the cupboard

MiraB ... oh no you don't stuff that one back into the cupboard! if you don't want to proveed with a full quilt, at 17" it could make for a spectacular topper or wall hanging! Impressive indeed.

Yes spring will come Ladies ... The calendar says one thing, but what will Mother Nature give us?
She has been so nasty to many of us this past year, that it's about time we get a change for the good.

More snow here last night/today ... only about 4" and none of the rain/ice that you got, JanRN.
They tell us it is to get milder in the next couple of days, but then it will plummet again.

Stay safe ... and warm, Almost Everyone!!!
(cool for MiraB .... and continue on the same for Anae!!!)

I got a pretty block from Jan today...thank you so much!!!! Now to decide how to set my blocks and get time to put them together.

I'll try to get a group shot this week. Not sure when I will get to the clubhouse. With the snow appts keep getting moved later in the week. Thurs and Fri were supposed to be "home days"....they might end up being again since more snow is predicted....

Anael--I never replied but like the idea of you teaching me through pictures how to knit a beautiful sweater like yours. It will probably be another month or so before I will be up to that (with my elbow/shoulder healing), I'll send you an email when I'm ready, and then when it's convenient for you to start we can. Thanks!

Thanks for the pictures QNS, your roses are beautiful!

Carrie, lovely block
Do you want to make the same cardigan? Or do you just want to learn how to knit cables? This one is a Drops design, Karisma yarn from Garnstudio, Drops book # 134. http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/us/pa...d=5269&lang=us

Still no winter here and nowhere in sight either.
