Honchey....what a great block. I love those colors too
Mirabelle....sorry for the frustrating day in the sewing room but happy to see the wonderful quilt for your DH. Very creative and well done.....no scraps!!!!
Anael....what a cute picture of Mick. We lived just across the yard from my DMIL when the children were little and she would lure them into her house with cookies. Then with her cute little smile she would say that it wouldn't hurt them. I guess in the long haul it didn't since those older children eat pretty healthy now but at the time it didn't make me very happy.
OK...I missed the news of a house for sale. Hope it goes well.
Partly sunny and colder this morning with more daylight every day. Yes, Anael, spring is on it's way but winter is still going to have it's say. More snow predicted tonight! I'm putting borders on my SYE blocks today. I want to see how that weave finally works out. Have a good one....!

MiraB ... definitely have that jolt of java!!!! I've had days like that and so totally empathize with you. Meanwhile what a stunning guy quilt for MrMiraB!! I like the 3-D effect that has come from the animal print background overlaid with the blocks. Very effective. He will be a happy man!!! Curious as to what the backing will be? ..... I saw some neat animal prints recently that were so realistic in print and texture .... almost like a shaved minkee. Of course, when I want them, they will have disappeared! But I bet I could get them still, and ship to you!!

Anael ... what a tease you are!

GGal ... oh yes ... can't wait to see your Spikes!! I've been lurking and admiring, each time you post them.

Good morning and happy to see everyone's message this morning. Welcome back, Honchey. Missed you while you had fun...but glad to hear you were having fun these last few weeks.

Easter is not until April 20th, so old man Winter will have his say until after that date...so all garden plans will be put on hold until after that date. Yes, officially, Spring will come March 21, and we may get a big snow storm then...snow is Ok to me, as long as there is no ice...hate ice storms and the destruction of trees and power lines.

Mirabelle, another winner for DH; he should really love that quilt. It is fine if you take a rest from the sewing room; all artistic minds need a rest now and then.

No, Anael, I have not tried the chocolate recipe in the crock pot, but JanieW is trying it tonight. Looked so good. I am posting more recipes in that section of QB now...

And hoping I can get more done in the Quilt Room today, as my knee has eased a bit last night, but still wearing the brace today again to give it support. May everyone have a good week.

I'll wait on Janie's report then before making it myself. One disaster is enough
Today I made potato soup again, Jan's recipe!

Honchey and DublB ... Lovely block, though I'm confused ... as to whom this block is from/to? Being that Honchey posted it, I'm thinking it is from DublB. Though you have said it was to DublB. Just want to be sure to add it to the right collection of blocks!

QuiltE, I sent the block to Dublb...She received it when her Gma wa in the hospital and forgot to post it so I did it for her..
Here are a couple of photos of what's been going on in my life...The scrappy potholders were created about 5 yrs ago and I put the binding on them last week...Don't make fun of one of my attempts to do FM...they do look funny tho...and if you laugh too much your faces might freeze that way .
I made the curtains for my bathroom and thought I would hang them higher than pictured but It took up too much window and now I have to shorten them to 18"...

the sofa was in the family room and is now in the bedroom.. DH wanted to put it out to the curb or try to sell it for $100..I said no way..in the bedroom it goes.. The stationary bike is also a new addition..I bought it from one of the ladies in the village for $30...
Some 4 patch posies going to be set on point and the cake I baked. it didn't rise very much..I think the pan is too big...It tastes ok..nothing to rave about..maybe some ice cream with it will do the trick.. and last but not least the MB that Carriem sent me..A very different and exceptionally beautiful Dresden Plate block...

Always good to read/catch up on what everyone's been up to.

Honchey--I am happy your block arrived before you head back north again. A good friend of mine who has lots of 30s fabrics shared for your block...it was the 1st MB I made.

You can't see it in the picture, but the white star part is 3-d. The pattern is called Dresden Star, here is a tutorial I just found when looking for a link to the pattern: http://www.magpiequilts.com/2011/07/...ilt-block.html

I worked today...first time in 6wks. I found the perfect fabrics for sashing and borders for my MBs. I can't wait to put it together. I hope to cut strips and bating this week so I can take it along to my retreat next week. I am going to try Jan's method of QAYG (quilting top and batting together and then adding a whole backing).

Just catching up after work. So nice to spend time with my friends and enjoy what's going on in your lives. Sounds like most of the health issues have been resolved-yay! Enjoy looking at all the pics. This is a very busy and productive group and oh! so talented.
