We went to our Women's State Community College Championship Basketball Game today. We left at 9:00 a.m. and went out to Breakfast, then down south (an hour and a half away). We won! Wow, so exciting. It is the 7th time we have won the championship. We had two rooter buses down there, plus all the people that drove their own cars. The gym was packed with Ventura people! So fun!

Hey Ya'll I'll be gone for a bit. I'm gonna go & visit my DD in Houston. I'll take my computer but I bet I don't git on it very much. That's what happens when I go outta town. I do have a very sick cousin & might have ta come home early for a funeral so I'm gonna just drive straight through instead o' stoppin' in Brady. I need ta spend as much time w/DD as I can while I can. I can only be in Houston in the winter & am cuttin' it real close as April is the cut off point for my allergies. It's amazin' how many things have gotten in my way ta go & see her this winter. It might be workin' out for the best right now 'cause her DH is workin' on a rig in the ocean just off the coast o' Africa. He'll be there for 2 or 3 weeks.

Jeanie, that team is a mouth full, glad they won for you. It makes a better journey with all the fans there and they win!

Dublb, smile and wave in our DS's direction when you are in Houston visiting your DD...he's living over on NorthWest Houston side near Tomball, but works downtown.

Everyone have a blessed St. Patrick's Day...JanRN looking forward to hearing more good stories from your Monday workday.

My company is coming in today, and we have a lot of 'catching up' conversations to do this week. About 37 years worth. Yep, she is bringing in the Corned beef and cabbage.

My first nine (5 inch raw seam) Dear Jane blocks:two have to be hand stitched. I posted the 3 months fabric selections received from QOTS kits in the Baby Jane BOM postings.

Awesome DJ blocks, QNS. You're doing a great job piecing those. Wow! The ones I've made finish at 5 1/2" and I thought that felt small; those are amazing. I'm always afraid to order kits because I'm not sure I'd like their choice of fabrics but I really like those. You have been a busy bee! Enjoy your company and take a well-earned break.

No work this week but I'm sure there'll be lots more stories in the future LOL.

QNS, great DJ blocks and congrats on the first finishes.

DD, I received your beautiful surprise block today and all the lovely I Spy fabrics ! ! ! Thank you so much!
Will take a picture of the block tomorrow, now it's starting to get dark and it has been raining all day so no good time to take pictures.

QNS...wonderful work on your DJ!
Honchey...so good to hear from you. Hope you have continued success and return to health.
dubib....enjoy your DD and stay away from allergies! My niece is a nurse that arranges organ donating so I read your post with great interest. Hope it is still working out well for all concerned.
jeanie...that basketball must be what keeps you young. Is that your alma matar? BTW...did the earthquake affect you?
anael...don't give up on me please. I've had a "surprise" block ready to get in the mail for sometime but haven't made it happen. Maybe today. I'm finally getting my hair cut after 8 week! I'm well past the dog tag stage...
I'm well behind on my March goals but glad to be recovering my health and not having snow to contend with. Outside work begins to beckon.

Gardnergal - Yes, both my DH and I attended Ventura College. The reason we started following the basketball teams was because my niece played there after High School. Many of you are my age, so remember that girls only played half court basketball. I guess they thought we could not run the whole court, yet we played field hockey on the football field??? Anyway, we followed my niece all through high school, then to Ventura College. After she left to go to Chico State, we decided we loved it so much we just continued to follow the men and women's teams. That was in 1993! We sit with people that have attended all that time as well. It is so much fun when basketball starts up again, as we see all the people we have not seen in eight months!

The earthquake was about 50 miles south of us. I was asleep and did not feel it, but those who were up felt it.
