My April goals are 'dimmed' at the moment. Going to see the eye doctor this morning...do not know what is going on with my eyes...strange things is all I know. Its kinda hard to read or to see the 'whole' road when I am driving, so its time to see the doctor. Dh is taking me there. Dh says I cannot see or walk its time to trade me in for another.

And I will go from there...whatever he says. Everyone have a good day.

Hi Everyone, I guess we are Bev Let's see who turns the page...

QNS, I hope the Eye Dr. can fix whatever's wrong..it's no fun having problems with your eyes...

My 2 "kids" are sick and never made it to dinner last night...I'll have to send care packages to their homes.. a 10 qt pot of homemade meatballs & sauce is too much for me...
I cut fabric into 2.5" strips then into 2.5" squares and 6.5" rectangles yesterday in between making the meatballs.. maybe I should call it the meatball quilt??? anyway, 5 of the pieces makes a square block and you interchange the colors..the fabric is a novelty pattern with owls & easter eggs? The other project is a pattern from MSQC and is very easy...I'm requested to teach a class this spring...I have to get the sample done first...I'm not sure if I can get it done in time...
DH is itching to go to NC for a couple of weeks.. the irrigation has to be turned on so the lawn stays green...Dentist says the tooth is responding to treatment and that the pulling I feel in the gum area are the 2 tendons that are healing from being cut when the surgeon did his work last April...He won't proceed any further until I'm comfortable with the progress...I don't want to have a permanent crown placed if there's a chance the infection can come back..so it looks like the knee procedure will have to wait until then..that is until I can't stand the pain anymore...

Have a great day Guys...

QNS--hope your eye problem is resolved soon.
So glad the dental work is healing, Honchey and then onto getting that knee fixed.
dublb--lucky you--you can work outside! Great accomplishments. We could get snow again tomorrow--come on winter go away. Glad I don't live further north-they are to get a lot more snow. I've been enjoying the robins hopping around the front yard, but don't think there are any worms for them to find yet. So envious, GGal that you have flowers peeking through. Soon you will have little time in the sewing room--hear it's supposed to rain again your way. Good to have sewing projects to fall back on this time of year.
Did anyone fall for Janie's must have notion? I did!
mirabelle--sounds like you've had a bad couple of days! Hope all goes right for a while. The last quilts are so cute--love the ABC quilt
Prayers going out to you and yours, GrannyQ. Hope you guys don't get too much rain in this storm that's passing over. Think GGal is in the same path.
This morning was Grandparents Day at school so DH and I went to Mass with Gkids and ate lunch with them. 4-H commitment last night as well as a trip to town earlier. Time to rest for a bit. Tomorrow hoof trimmer is here. Next week is starting to look really busy as well. Have a great day even if you have to make your own sunshine!

Good morning everyone..

QNS hope you get a good report at the eye Doc, and you can get back to what you love doing.

Honchey reading about your dental problems reinforces my absolute dread of going to the dentist hope you continue to heal and can get your knee fixed sooner rather than later.

Still sewing, although it is a pain having to continually change the position of my needle, you wouldn't believe how I miss my 1/4 inch foot

Now who is going to tip us over to start the next thousand ???????????????

Dr. Clark said my Optic Nerve is swollen, causing the blood vessels to leak blood behind the eye, causing fluid to come toward the front of the eye... and there are three retina specials in Iowa....the one that can get me in ASAP will be the one he will tell me tomorrow that I have an appointment with. When I am seeing bright red and bright blue with my eyes closed means there is blood in the back of my eye...the 'blotchy' look I am seeing is because of the swelling and Optic Nerve being enlarged. Its treatable, the sooner, the better. Funny, I could read his wall chart all the way down today. With one Optic Nerve gone in the left eye, I know I have to watch out for the good right eye. So I will do as he says on this one. Again, he is repeated what the nose specialist said, the root of my blood pressure problems has not been found yet. Just treating the blood pressure is not enough; keeping it in check is not the whole problem. So I am on pins and needles until they can treat my eye...

\\pecialist said several years ago, it all relates back to my high blood pressure issue not being solved by my docotor. Wellness checks and home monitoring its not enough, or not finding the right problem.

Hello Everyone .... I'm digging back out after the tax prep. All has now been delivered to the accountants' to do their thing. My work is done, and I just answer any questions they have or dig out any more info that they need to finish the filing. So all I can do now is wait and hope for a good payback!!!!!!! Though with one last yr, I almost dread that it may go the other way this year.

At last ... something else is breeding in a sewing room instead of stash ... or scraps!
Do you suppose .... that my two sewing machines might give me a surprise delivery, of a S16?
(oh how I can dream!!!!!!!!!)

*gasp* MiraB ... do you ever sleep? 48 hr days Down Under?? Great eye candy for March, and I know that is only partial. And now a new technique mastered! The cut work will be lovely for yours and DDs dresses! Oh dear for your parts left behind. We become so accustomed to all our extras and miss them so much when we don't have them. Hopefully your machine will be back quickly, so you don't have to plan your work so much. Might be a good excuse to start a new quilt! ........... and yes I know exactly how you feel about the "pain" to keep switching your needle settings, etc!

Sew Good to See so many Booster Achievements for March ... and April plans in the making.
I'll dig out my list and report back in with my April plans.
Whether you achieve a lot of things or just a few ... remember goals should be personal and realistic. They should be within reach of what you know you can do along with "life" that goes on around you ... not a crazy huge list that is self-defeating just by looking at it.

Honchey ... so another new machine is on the horizon? WOW!!

JanRN ... yup! you got thru March!!!!!!!!! And now, Let's Play Ball!!!!!!!!!!!

GGal ... yeaaaaaaaaaa for your first crocus sighting! You made me envious that you are already seeing things come to "life"!!! And made me laugh ... working in the gardens???? That won't be happening here for a lllllong time. However, soon I'll be out there playing lumberjack and dealing with the ice storm damage. UGH!!

Anael ... OMG .,.. looked up and took note of that quilt. Gorgeous, though me-thinks you have now answered the question we have all wondered!!!

GrannyQ ... {{{{HUGS}}}} to you and MrGrannyQ. Such a difficult time for both of you. Good for you for finding knitting as another release for you. I did a lot of embroidery while my husband was ill. hhmmmm it sits an UFO. Must get it out and see what I might be able to do with it.

OKSGlad ... No robin sightings here yet, though I do hear the birds chirping away outside my window at times. I was thinking of you and 4-H today as I read the postings for new clubs in our area this year. Bunny Hop Club where they train their bunnies to do an agility/obstacle course. And a Paint Ball club! Another one, forget what they called it but it sounded like they make catapults!

QNSue ... so sorry to hear about your eye update. If there ever was a time, this is THE time to do exactly what the Doctors advise, now and for the coming days/weeks or whatever it takes. Having been blind in both eyes for a spell .... I do have a relevance here and know how hard it was for me. And scary! Too, how precarious any change in my eyes can be, so I have learned to follow orders ... well, at least for that! Good Luck!

Why can't they make the S16 or the Platinum 16 do a straight stitch AND freemotion...I would be on that machine in a NY minute!!! I like the midsize new Opal 690Q..it has the sensor system & cut feature...once you get used to the sensor system it's hard to go back to the manual presser foot lifter. I am going to sell my little Janome Platinum 720..it's a shame it just sits there not being used...I have a couple of 50's singers that will be going up on the auction block also...I like to clean them up and get them going again.. The new Viking free motion machine sit down machine has my eye also but....I also want a straight stitch with it..until then...I have to wait until they make it

Qns, Please listen to the Drs and mind what they say...your eyesight is too precious...

QuiltE, we've had Robins here for over a month now..I was so surprised to see them so soon..My son said they never left this winter...How unusual is that??? I thought the headed south every year...

I'm not happy with the way the blocks are looking..individualy they are fine..when I lay them out it is like a jungle, crazy,...I have to change something...Maybe add some white to cool it down...

Honchey ... is the Platinum 16, another re-branded HQS16. On first glance it looks as such. Was this one of the ones you were playing with at work?

I think you should show us those blocks so we can see if it really is a jungle or not?
