woohooo W4Me ... looking ever so nice. And oh so nice how all the different batiks are working together! It'll only get better, as you do more mix and matching of the,

Looks like the break was just what you needed, QNSue to get some of your spark back! Probably even helped your eyes too!! Next thing you will be going on a monthly retreat like OKSGlad's friend!

Now DublB is out the door to a retreat! Have FUN ... and glad you had such a grand birthday!

And some more delicious eye candy to come soon from spikes from JanRN and MiraB, JeanieG, QNSue ... and who else? I bet there is something brewing with our EBE too!

Now ... I am heading to the sewing room for the afternoon!

It was windy today, so I had trouble getting the quilt to stay still on the clothesline! Here is my Celtic Solstice in Bonnie Hunter's colors. I am not comfortable with changing from her color schemes on her mysteries, as I have seen some other people's that turned out awful. You don't have a clue what they are going to be, so can easily pick colors that just don't work. Of course, some come out beautiful too - just the luck of the draw I think!

JeanieG, you have made me a fan of Bonnie Hunter, because your quilts you do with her are wonderful! GardenGal does hers from Bh up so well also. I download them. End of story. period.

I have to 'sign in' each time I want to say something on here; log in does not stay; it runs away...like my kitties did; like my camera did...and its raining hard here...

Found Triangles Mama and her kittens pattern...will make it for the two ladies who rescued and 'gifted' me my last two kittens...yellow one is a 'fraidy' cat...whines and meows at every little noise... Toms! Becky, female cat, has better manners.

Paper piecing today was too small, so will continue DJ later....will have to order another 'swatch' of A2 and try again. HD is continuing his Irish comments and conversations...today.

oksewglad - funny, I replied to your post and it isn't there. Hmm. Thank you. While this isn't as bright as any of my other Halloween quilts, it is still in the spirit and will be theme-obvious. And, what a great excuse to increase the Halloween fabric stash.

JeanieG - thank you. I'm really happy that I decided to use the sage as my constant. I wasn't planning to do PC, despite QuiltE's nagging, er, gentle encouragement. But then I looked at my sage with the other batiks and the quilt was started.
And your quilt is gorgeous. I don't do mystery quilts for that very reason. Since I like to put my own spin on quilts, I'm afraid to muck it up royally if I don't have a overall plan, or at least an idea of the final product.

QuiltE - thanks. I'm now concentrating on using sage plus one colour in my blocks. Then I will go back to mix and match. I think it will give me a better idea how the various fabrics play.

Happy Birthday dublb!!!!!

QuiltingNinaSue - how nice of you to make the pattern for those two women.

QNS, glad your eyes are getting better!

Jeanie, wonderful quilt! I don't like mystery quilts because of that. And with the BH quilts there are a zillion tiny pieces......

Happy Birthday Bev!

works4me, it's going to be a great quilt.

I'm here, just buried under Spike hope to have the quilting finished in the next day or two or three

Works4me more beautiful blocks, keep them coming, it really is going to be a one of a kind quilt using your Halloween fabric.

NinaSue that is great news about your eyes, small steps and take care of them, no straining..your bus trip sounded like a lot of fun

JeanieG I love your quilt, maybe I should do a BH mystery one of these years !!!

Now it is time for bed, will check in with you all reallll soon and maybe have a few pics to share..

I just thought I would check in quick...I have continued to read/watch what's going on with everyone. QNS--I am happy to hear the swelling has gone down and will keep praying. I look forward to seeing the Spike Quilts together...one of those quilts that has been put on the back burner for a while for me.

The last few weeks have been pretty hectic...besides my migraines (which thankfully are reduced to daily headaches of varying degrees), DH had to have back surgery (ruptured disc). He had 2 weeks off work, worked 1/2 days last week and will do the same this week.

It was nearly 6 weeks with no sewing...I finally got to the clubhouse on Saturday. I am working on some blocks for a Medallion quilt border. I was able to get all the fabric cut (over 200 pieces). Each section (pp'd) has 4 pieces of fabric, and I have 3 on all of them, 4 on a few. I hope to get the rest on today and trim sections sew I can sew blocks together tomorrow. We'll see how I feel after getting home from taking MIL to PT appt....might need a nap first.

So many pages to catch up on! Bev, happy birthday late. QNS...the best news yet...vision is better!!! What fun on the bus FART. Works4me...this PC ride is great fun and you're off to a good start. Jeanie...beautiful Celtic Soltice!! Jan...glad you took the SYE out of the box. Mine is put aside right now since I've come to that little bit bigger block and haven't made the effort to get my mind around how to fix it. QuiltE...how many more blue DJs are ready for show and tell? Carrie...hope you're getting some relief for the headaches. OK...love is in the air but it sure makes a busy time even busier. I've seen some field work being done but only a couple have been planted which is a little late for this area. Mirabelle...what did you and DD come up with over the weekend? Was a busy one for you it sounds like. I've gotten completely sidetracked from my goals. I've kept up with my BOMs but that's about all. I've fallen in love with Barbara Brackman's blogs and have begun a scrappy Civil War quilt and her Austen Family Albulm using the Dowten Abby fabric line. I had enough points at my LQS that I got the 10 yards of fabric without spending another dime!! One of their perks. Barbara uses another method for cutting her pieces so the learning process continues. I'm paying particular attention to the combination of prints in the samples. The values thing is getting a little easier to figure out. It's raining today and sever weather has been predicted. I'll have the weather channel on and be hunkered down in the sewing room. Stay safe everyone!
