Hi Ladies, I was well rested from working last Friday & the Family Reunion & having the kids yesterday...but for some reason I couldn't sleep last night..I woke up at 4:40 a.m and I'm still going.... One of my co-workers hurt her hand at work and now I'm going in tomorrow & Wednesday.. a water pipe broke in the bathroom which is next to our storeroom and that's where we store all of our new boxed machines..they all had to be removed and off the floor...it will be a mess tomorrow when I go in so I won't be able to take any hobby work in to work on..I was planning on doing some cutting tomorrow and now that's out of the picture...I an still wired..I hope I can sleep tonite.... talk to you tomorrow...good to hear from all of you...H.

I got into my QR briefly this morning to finish Row one redo on I SPY...rows are laid out, but need to resew the added blocks in of Thomas. Also started laundry and washed kitchen dishes. Now to pick all the green tomatoes since it frosted last night and clip Sweet Potato vines, pick apples, more apples and pears and start on jelly-jams for the day.

Yesterday we drove for miles to locate high protein duck feed...the supplier we thought had it when we called them, did not....so the eighty miles almost for nothing. We did have a nice Chinese lunch at the buffet place. On to U. and my hometown where we did get the duck/flock feed. Hope we can stay home today.

May everyone have a good day. Don't work too hard, Honchey.

DH & I have been gittin' up early & walkin'. We are tryin' every mornin' but things keep happenin' ta keep us from. I'm tryin' ta use it as a way ta change my sleepin' habits. It's hard though. About the time I start gittin' ta bed at a decent time DH gist sick or hurts his back or knee. I then sleep in & stay up late at night. Yesterday I got 3 hours o' sleep. Last night it was 5. I'm prayin' that I go ta bed early enough tanight ta git some sleep. 5:00am is early, but it's the coolest time o' day.

Dublb, MrJanRN is an early morning person. He gets up at 5am, reads the paper and goes for a long walk. He really misses Patches and the forced exercise he got when he had to walk him. Me? I'm a night owl--up til 1 or so then sleep til 7:30. All those years I worked full time I had to go to bed at 10 and get up at 5--not now! I love sleeping in.

JanieW wrote to me: We are off on our holiday tomorrow. We are going to Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia , Russia, Belarus and Poland. It is my dream trip. I will try to get back in touch when we get back in early October on the QB.

Just thought I would check in and say "hi"...I had a nice email update typed up and then lost it. Basically life is busy and not any sewing getting done. I might be able to get some time in a couple afternoons a week starting next week. I will be finishing my nephew's quilt first and then be working on cutting fabric for star blocks for my retreat in October. I was going to start a new quilt at the retreat, but decided it would be better to finish the "50-Star" blocks (I am only making 36-40 for two large lap quilts) and get those quilts finished first.

School, work, household stuff...plus working at MIL's house getting it ready for her return (she's been at SIL's since the storm damage in July).

Oh my QNS--you've made my back ache worse today just looking at all you have accomplished. Great pics, too. Thanks for update on Janie.
Carrie some days our "fun" is pushed aside for the real life out there! Sure your MIL appreciates all that's been done for her, too.
I'm trying to work on old projects and not start new ones....hard to do as there are so many quilts, so little time. Where have we seen that phrase before?
Just got a call from my sis in PA. They are leaving for Iowa tomorrow and will be stopping on their return trip early next week. I've got to clean now--guess it's as good an excuse as any. Planned to pick apples today, but after running errands all morning, my back wasn't up to it. Hope tomorrow will be better. Going to QB's tomorrow to try Disappearing Pinwheel block.

QNS, I see that the storage area isn't insulated. won't the canned items freeze...Oh Boy, the apple tree and Tomatos look soooo good..I wish I had an apple tree!

Carriem,Wow, Do you ever have a busy life!!

JanieW, I hope you have a wonderful time on your Journey of a lifetime!

Jan, I love sleeping in..I think that's when I get the best sleep.

Dublb, I can't imagine walking at that early hour in the a.m. Any distance walking for me is done on a treadmill!!!
Although, I must say than when I'm working going to the john is now twice the distance from before the renovations at the store!!! We cleaned out the store room and moved around 40 pieces of equipment...The day flew by...another day of work tomorrow then I can rest then sew for a bit...I hope...Goodnite all...H.

I just looked...20 more to get to 10,000!!!!!!!!
