Nice to hear from several of you today.

The I SPY and one cat quilt is ready for the binding; hopefully, I can get on that tomorrow, and take pictures when I finish....other cat quilt is over at LA quilter's...I chickened out of doing the quilting. Going to start on a smaller project first.

Had a great time at the Christmas party in Derby, Iowa, excellent food and company. Dh was in a good mood so I could smile and enjoy myself. He did not wear his kilt today, pure day... for me.

Take care everyone, Good luck JanRN on tellilng your Boss 'bye'.

We had Christmas party Friday night for the quilt shop employees...it was fun. This week is the party at the hotel...it will be a lunch. My family is all fighting a cold right now...well DS (who got it first) is pretty much over it, but the rest of us aren't feeling the best the last couple of days. I am thankful it is just head stuff and NOT the stomach stuff that has been going around!

Did I tell you all that DH is building me a bigger craft room? It is on the loft in his shop. After yesterday I officially have 4 insulated walls and a door! Still lots of steps left. DH will do outlets, lighting, base board heaters. My part is taping/mudding the drywall and painting; then moving everything out of the room to wash the metal walls and sweep the floor good before putting carpet down. We will need to do trim, but I am sure I will be moved in before that gets up unless we get a really good deal on something.

This week will be busy with archery practices, choir concert, work at the hotel, school....might have some time here and there to sew a bit.

I have been very still taday. I watched my Texans lose real bad. I don't know what they are gonna do about a quarterback as they have lost so many ta injuries. The 3rd string QB needs a lotta practice! I did a li'le bit o' handquiltin' after that.

Thanks everyone for the BD wishes...Spent a lot of time on the phone, even though I couldn't talk. "Talked" to all our siblings (6) and kids (3). DS called again tonight and we talked for 45 min+--decided I was sounding much better. Told DH we must be getting old--we went out for Friday lunch rather than Friday night dinner!

Had the 4 youngest grands yesterday--they liked the goulash I made for dinner..also spent 8 + hours doing bookwork as well as about half that on Friday. Still some odds and ends to do and of course milk check comes tomorrow, so bill paying to do. Not sure when I'm going to get sewing done!!!

Nice to have a little company, dublb--did it take your mind off the breathing problems?

Yeah, carrie--a bigger sewing spot! You will be surprised how long it will take you to set up in the new space. It sounds like you're getting back to your old self.

Oh, Jan, what can he say...you've been a loyal nurse for quite a while and helped him out during stressful times. Take a deep breath......

Glad to hear all's okay Jeanie.

Honchey--take a deep breath, too. What gets done, gets done. How lucky to be able to go help your sis out...wish I was closer to mine.

Back to the books...slow internet service tonight...

A small diversion in my plans...I am working tomorrow for a 1/2 day...I'll be going to DE on Tuesday.Just I day later and I'll just stay a day later..Ha Ha..

Oh Jan, I don't envy you having to tell your boss of how many years? that you're leaving for good this time!

Carrie, it will be sooo nice to have a larger area for all your crafting & sewing..Tho I don't envy you the spackling & sanding part of the deal....Oh how I hated that part of renovating the house....
OK, it seems Bob & I have more lunches out than dinners....
It's close to 10 P M. and I have to be up early so it's off to bed I go...See ya later..H.

Mama and her kittens are posted in the picture section: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...ml#post7008902

Thank you for looking there. All done. Second one is actually over at the LA lady, but they are the same identical quilts. Now to finish the I SPY binding and get some Christmas packages ready to go. This 'elf' helper is having fun.

QNS, Your quilts are very pretty, I really like the pretty colors. I have been extra busy these past few months trying to get all the quilts done and washed for the grands. I have washing them to see how much the will fade, using lots of color catchers. Of all the dumb things I have done doing quilts with RED fabric. I have washed this one 5 times and the red just won't come out of it, so I guess the grandson will get it anyway, he can use it when he goes camping and I will make him another one. Every other quilt came out fine.

Sorry I haven't been on for quite a while, I usually get to read the messages but not responding. I hope every one understands. DH had to change chemo drugs, his hands broke out with the IV drip chemo. Now he takes 4-250 pills every day. At least with these he has not lost his taste for food. With the 1st chemo, nothing tasted good for 10 days, so this is a little better to deal with, but still has a lot of side effects. I received a good report but I still have to see the surgeon every 3 months. I have doing the quilts when I get any spare time. So that helps me keep me going.
I'm planning on doing the next Farm Wife quilt so I will keep watching this thread. I'll take some pictures and put them on this thread.

GrannyQ so glad you stopped by! It is great that your report was so good - 3 months Drs. visits are doable - that is what I thought when I went to 6 months on my Melanoma visits. I'm almost on my 2 year time frame - Yay!

So sorry to hear of your DH trials with his chemo drugs. So many people just give it up and don't want to deal with the side affects. Glad to hear he is sticking with it.

Don't be a stranger here, we are here for you! Hugs!

QNS that quilt turned out adorable! You're colors are so bright & cheerful and I like how she quilted it. Love the border fabric. Great job!

GrannyQ, I've been thinking about you & DH; so glad you stopped by. Will keep you both in my prayers. Glad you'll join the next FWS ride.

Well, I did it: I stopped by the office to pick up my paycheck and told my office manager & boss that after next Monday, I'm officially done. It wouldn't have been so difficult if they were mean people or pissed me off, but they treat the staff like family. She asked me to stay on and just work vacations or sick days but I said no--it's time for me to make a clean break. I know you guys are probably tired of me talking about this but I couldn't talk to anyone else about it because I was afraid the boss would hear about it before I could talk to him. So!! It's done. Now you are all invited to my house on Monday, Dec. 22 at 7pm for a bonfire: the burning of the uniforms!!!!!
