Thanks Anne. Yes it is a large room, & I have felt that it needed a sectional the whole time we have been here. This is what I paid for it with. LOL We cut it open last fall & cashed 'em all in. $850. I have been lookin' for a used one ever since but found this one at Big Lots instead.

It has been so long since I have been on QB. I think of a lot of you often. I am so appreciative of my contact with you. I treasure the blocks I have received from you all. Sorry that I have been AWOL. Sometimes life just doesn't co - operate. I cannot possibly catch up with what has been going on with this thread, but I hope to jump back in again soon.

nina Sue, are you done Irish Mist and / or Tennessee Waltz yet. I'm not!!

Way to save up that change....

Janie, what a treat to hear from you. Hope you have been able to get some sewing in while away.

News for the day...our little GD arrived this morning about 8:30....such a proud, happy dad called this morning. Everything fine for mom and baby...another of life's blessings...yes been on the phone all morning, too. Time to call it a day.

Janie W, I have been thinking of you and very happy to see your message. Irish Mist is in a box that shall not see daylight here again. TW is still a work in progress...I set together two rows, than ripped them apart.... Have finished a California Gold, and finishing the traditional nine patch blue top. I have to close down the quilting room to the end of the week for daughter and family's arrival. Son in law uses that has his 'office' while here. Cleaning house today.

Dublb, what a savings account in a five gallon water jug....I have saved FIL's small jars of change as a memory of him. And I do love your sectional....and your large room.

Ok, what wonderful news of a new DGD. A miracle, a new baby for the Spring. Glad to hear Mother and child are doing fine. Have you made her a new quilt yet?

Janie!!! I am so glad ta see ya!
OK, There ain't nothin' better'n DGK's!

Today & yesterday DH & I have been workin' in the yard. I also bought some more seeds. Most o' 'em I will grow 'em under the grow light but have planted some o' 'em out back. Taday we also moved the tomatoes, that are in the pots, off o' the patio & against the back fence where they can get some more sun. The others are already in the sun as they were planted in the raised beds.
Yesterday DH & I fixed the chain link fence that is on top o' the tile block fence. One place was missin' a support & another place the support had been bent in a 45* angle. We took it off & replaced both o' 'em. We then got a bunch o' the dead branches off o' it.

Hi all,
Wonderful news, OK. So exciting! How many grands do you have now? Name?
Today was glorious, spent it outside, walking, gardening, sitting, reading. We have had an early spring, much to my delight.
I have been working on my FMQ. I made a gazillion preemie quilts for practise, took a couple of Craftsy lessons, watched them over and over and , then got brave and tried some ideas on a lap sized Bento Box quilt. I am almost done. It is so dense, stiff as aboard, a fortune in thread, but I am having so much fun! I will try to post pictures tomorrow.

QNS, I am going to sandwich Irish Mist this weekend and slowly FMQ it this summer. I will hope you resurrect yours and give it a shot. It was really challenging, but maybe someday you will give it a go? Or not. 😊 I will help if I can, if you want. TW is going to get finished being pieced this fall as we will not be travelling.

Dublb, we have a money jar too but can never agree when it is the right time to give it a smack!

Good to be back!

XOXO

Janie, So good to hear from you and to know that all is going well...You've been very busy to say the least..

The "Unforgettable Stars" quilt is at the LA quilter.. I chose a very pretty pantograph of small to med stars in a swirl of ribbons.. not very noticeable so much on the front but very visual on the back...Now all I have to do is the binding.. I won't be here to sew it on.. someone else in the group will have to pick up the slack.. I have to pick up my sewing room and start straightening it out for packing...Yeah, Just one week left until the return home..
Congratulations OK You're a grandma again
Time for a nap, I've been up since 6 this a.m. Later, H

Whew! I had forgotten how active a six almost seven DGS really is. And he has really grown a lot this past year. I did find the right toy to entertain him...a remote controlled Jeep...and let him put the batteries into it. Yes, I have more batteries if he wears out the ones he put into the Jeep tonight.

SIL informed me that he was not too busy tomorrow afternoon to do the BBQ of the ribs and chicken, so I will do the vegetables inside while the guys BBQ outside. He does the job so well I will not disagree with him doing it. The chicken and rib leftovers will feed us on Friday. Melon, strawberries, and bananas will be the main dessert this week. But I did promise SIL a fresh rhubarb strawberry pie.

Neighbor came over for her gooseberries; a green one, a red one and a pink one. DH will plant the others during the week.. . and the peach trees as well. Everyone take care, and have a good end of the week and weekend.
