I wish Mother Nature would take a break from all this horrible weather..it's so devastating...

I am on my way to be very organized.. fabrics picked for blocks 1-5 and placed in the baggies with the pping patterns cut...I am so tempted to start sewing them together but I'm going to continue to pick & put in little baggies...this way when I do start, the battle of hunting & pecking for fabrics is done...
I'm visiting my sister in Delaware for a couple of days.. there are several places I like to visit when I'm there. Then when I return on Friday it will be time to start packing the car again for another visit to NC..DH's family will be in Myrtle Beach for a week and we promised to be there when they are...We're staying for 3 weeks. DH has to be back for a check up..
I'm having the kids for dunch today then they're going to Dog Beach at the shore...It's a beautiful gorgeous day today..DS will be putting the AC in the kitchen window so I better get off my tuffet and go clean it..The outside is done now to the inside...

Have a good day all and remember the Vets today...H.

DH and I went to cemeteries yesterday..flags for the veterans..Civil War, WWII, and Korea...flowers for the rest. Raining then...should be overcast, but dry for the remembrances this morning.

Sounds like Honchey will be on the road this next month...

Rain can be a blessing...glad you got a nice amount, dublb....and then too much is not good either for some parts of your state

GrannyQ..

Emily will be starting her dress this week. Hope to have it done by weekend...

Hi everyone. We went to a cousin of mine for a get together yesterday. She fixed pulled pork for sandwiches and had chips and dips, salad and a great cake for dessert. Wow - great feast. I was only sorry that more of my relatives did not attend.

We have decided that after our next RV Rally (June 15-18) to Morro Bay to take off for Oregon and Washington to visit our friends who live on Whidbey Island, WA for a few weeks. I think we will visit Tahoe and Lassen National Park on the way. Joe has not seen Tahoe and neither of us have visited Lassen. It takes forever, it seems to get out of California when you are driving North.

I'm still adding blocks to the Mystery Train Ride #9 quilt as I wanted a larger lap quilt. I'll take a photo of it and my last Bonnie Hunter Mystery Celtic Solstice and post for you soon.

Have a great day everyone.

I keep thinking someone is going to pop in and say they have a block done.

Off to Columbia tomorrow and see a quilt shop there...all packed and ready to go! Hoping for good driving weather.

Just checking in and have to tell you about my day today. Every year I go to a Quilt in a Day lecture given by Pat Knoechel, Eleanor Burns' sister. Pat demonstrates some techniques, introduces EB's newest books and products and is very entertaining. Guess who gave the lecture today??? Eleanor Burns!! Yep, what a surprise, it wasn't publicized, she just got up to the podium and started the lecture. She's from a small town not far from me, Fombell PA (pop about 2200) and still has lots of family here. They had a family reunion for Memorial Day so she joined Pat at the lecture. What fun! She's really funny. Introduced all her family and sold tons of books that she autographed for everyone. Very enjoyable day.

Got my FWS 1930s book over the week-end, got to look at the cover. Been very busy (not sewing) and hope to get to spend some time with the book tonight while MrJan is golfing. I already know I'm not doing those white zigzag thingys in between the blocks. Love the fabrics Carrie & Anne have picked. I'm just going to use stash fabrics and of course a few donkeys here & there LOL.

I've been very tempted to do a block...some of the solids I have are colors that I think might bleed so I soaked them for about an hour in water and nope not a drop of color came thru..I was very surprised...

Jan, it's so much fun when surprises happen..DH and I went looking at couple of different smaller SUV's then went to the Toyota dealership to check out the RAV 4 and while the salesman was getting a price DH was looking at the new Camry's and asked me to check it out with him..The last thing I told him when we left the house was " We're just looking, NOT buying"!!! Well, We're the owners of a new Camry!!! We were looking at the SUV's cause I wanted to be able to sit higher...The power seats are standard on the Camry and I was able to see over the steering wheel with the new car...so now I'll be driving my Little Corolla down to NC and I'll have a car to myself and won't feel so isolated..The only problem I see is the driving the car by myself with DH following me...I can just imagine all the pit stops I'm going to have to make.. I know I shouldn't be complaining..I'm just dreading the solo drive...H.
