Jan, Good to know He's home and I know you are so relieved Thanks Giving came early for you...

I just bought my turkey and it's in a cooler and It will defrost nicely and go in the fridge when I get home on Tuesday. Gee, I was looking for a turkey like Carrie's ..couldn't find one anywhere
I'm almost done with the packing and everything is in the garage ready to go in the car.. One more gathering with the Village Stitchers and then we'll be on our way.. I planted Pansies in the front of the house..I'll take a photo in the morning before we leave. .I've never planted them before. I hope they survive..It's a big thing down here...I hope they don't freeze..
Jeanie, your quilt is beautiful..I know I started one of Bonnie's quilts..I don't remember which one..it's still in pieces..

Got to go & finish picking up and doing some odds & ends.. See Y'all later..H.

JeanieG, that is one beautiful quilt! I like the way you did it.

JanRN, bless your son and you; a wonderful ending to arrive at home safe and sound. And new bathrooms to use now! Lots to be thankful for this year.

Bluebell, laughter is always good; even it it brings a smile to the reader's face, its worth the posting.

And a Happy Thanksgiving to all....and to all a good night.

I also got my turkey today. I went to Smart & Final and they were sold out, so went to Vons and they had a lot of turkeys. I got a bunch of stuff, so the turkey went from $25.00 to $12.00, so I was pleased. It is defrosting in the fridge. I make a stuffing bread in my bread machine, and it is cubed and drying. I will bake and slice my turkey on Wednesday. I pour a lot of the turkey drippings over the meat and put in the fridge until Thursday, then I just reheat it. So much easier than having to do all the carving on Thursday with everything else we have to do. I have a recipe for Garlic Smashed Potatoes that goes in the crockpot. You use red potatoes, so don't even have to peel all those potatoes. Anything that makes this meal easier for me is wonderful.

Thanks for all the kind remarks on my quilt!

I see the coming of busy times ahead for us all...the season is soon upon us...

10# sounds about right.....

MrOK and I went out for supper...afterwards I started cutting blocks for my FWS. I'm up to blocks 73 and 74...2 + hours of picking fabrics and then it's time to take a break.....getting anxious to start sewing...less than 40 blocks to pick and choose for...the end is in sight.

Cranberry relish, a favorite here. Per one bag of fresh whole cranberry, three oranges, peel just two, one apple and foiur stalks of celery ground together with a Kitchen Aid mixer attachment. Mix well and put about a cup to a cup and half of sugar. It can be made with just granberries and apples and celery. Family favorite every year. Make it for friends and give away in quart jars. Can be made into a jello salad, but we prefer using it as a relish dish. Some orange juice or lemon can be used if it is too tart. Easy to do, delicious to eat. Enjoy.

Happy & Thankful Thanksgiving Everyone, We arrived home yesterday late afternoon. I love it when I'm in my home in NC but there's nothing like coming home to the place you've rested your head for the last 46 years...I'll be busy prepping everthing for tomorrow's dinner..I'll have the pleasure of doing some last minute shopping with my 7 yr old grandson later in the day...I know we'll have a good time..

Bev, I did get the seasoning envelope on Saturday...I now have a bbqed mailbox..I didn't have to open it to know what was in it...Thank You so much!
Have a good day all of you! H.

Wishing you all a happy Thanksgiving and so glad to have yinz in my life. Just MrJanRN & I tomorrow but I'm cooking the full meal and side dishes. Love leftovers and we'll have them for a few days. Enjoy your day with friends & family.

OK, do you have to work Black Friday? If so--bless you! I don't envy anyone who works retail Friday. I went out one time years ago and learned nothing is needed that badly that I have to have it on that particular day LOL. Plan on sewing all day. It's supposed to be 60* here so MrJan & son will golf. Wow--golfing in November. And there are those who scoff at global warming/climate change!
