THE FWS PONY CLUB Week 7 Bright Hopes & Bird's Eye View Photo Page

Wahoo!!!, I got the two blocks for this week done as they were very easy for me, Haleluyah!! and here they are. i have to do a little more trimming on the back of Bird's Eye View..I hand appliqued the 2 circles instead of the way it was done in the book. the seams are too fat and it shows with the pressing...oh well...on to the next two.

The files will not upload..I've been trying for about 10 minutes...Will try again..It would be my luck...I get both blocks done and now I can't show them...bummer!

Love those, Honchey. Superb! Your horse fabric is to die for and the "don't fence me in" centre is so neat.

Love your bird's eye, too. Clever how you did that.

Honchey ... so cute!! Horses without fences! Funny thing ... I FC that same centre piece for my Arizona block tonight ... figured it should go there because of the cactus! Those blackbirds look pretty nice bobbing around!!

JanieW ... Now those two little guys are just stealing the show! A nice blend with your Bird's Eye View!

    And here are mine .............

    Oh, Oh, Lovely blocks!
Honchey - Love the horses with out fences, & such cut little black birds. Your applique looks great to me!
JanieW - There's that cute little fellow again! (Or should I say feller?) Darlin' little ducks. I love blue & yellow together.
QuiltE - Your FC is getting so much better! You got at least 1 cow 'looking' at us, (such a darlin' bunch of cows too,) & those birds are great, each one perfectly centered!

    Here's my Bright Hopes.

I like playing with stripes, not perfect but fun.
I'll do my birds Eye later in the week.

My favorite morning of the week. Great job ladies-I love all the fabric you're using and the clever ways you use it. Here are mine. I "cheated" on Bright Hopes ("I shot the sherriff....Eric Clapton). Hate applique, glad this is the only one.

Your blocks sure tell a story. The Bird's Eye reminds me of the nursery rhyme Four and Twenty Blackbirds Baked in a Pie.

I didn't even see the cow umtl someone mentioned them. I bet there were more of them in a dairy barn than on the range. Love the birds.

Your little boy is so cute too and you've really nailed the fussy cutting. BTW, I saw your post about quilting, it was beautiful. And you said you haven't been quilting that long. Great job!

Thank you gardnergal! I started quilting about 2 years ago, a year and a half ago I took a class on FMQ because I was too scared to start on my own. I've been meandering ever since LOL with swirls, leaves, flowers or stars. Now I'm learning free hand feathers but that will take me a while!

JanRN...This is also my favorite morning. So many beautiful blocks. In trying to note everyone's block the QB thought I was posting duplicates when I did yours. Can't see how you cheated on Bright Hope. Good job.

Here are mine for the week. Bright Hope had to be bright but it does look like my center is not quite square. Darn y seams. I appliqued the center block with machine stitching on the Bird's Eye and outlined all of the rest. My machine must need some special strokes that I haven't figured out yet. Miss Froggy insisted on meeting me 3 times on one line. So much to learn!

Bright block gardnergal! Next time you do a block like this sew the first seam just halfway, attach the other 3 parts and now you can close the first seam. No need to do y seams, makes life easy

Beautiful blocks. If you look at my Bright Hopes you can see where I split the top rectangle into 2 squares. Then it went together like a 9 (7 in this case) patch. Didn't see the point of set in seams--why re-invent the wheel LOL!!
    Thank you!

I'm so impressed with the blocks you have posted so far. I am going to post mine now. Have to say, I am not too kicky about either of these that "I" did, but they are done and at this point, I'll live with them....
