For those having difficulties reading the schedule document and would like to be able to see the block difficulty colors, LibreOffice's Writer can read this document. LibreOffice is free (you can skip the donation) at:

Well, I only got 1 triangle done this week, but I got other stuff completed that I will share at a later. The first triangle I am posting, I actually did during the first group, but did want to include it here just to know that I did not forget one of them. It is so neat to see that I have improved my pp techniques since I worked in the first group.

I forgot to say that I am working on the triangles that go down the right side, and these are the first 2 triangles.

I did a big boo~boo on the above block, and didn't realize it until I had the quilting done on it, and was not going to remake it after that. Another unique block in my DJ. Enjoy looking and keep posting your blocks. Love seeing everyone's progress

I found out that if I go to the individual block numbers, highlight them and hold my control key down and then hit the letter "A" after the font and size in the message box, I could change the colors so that we can all see the difficulty level of the blocks. This is the next section which takes you through the summer. I will post the first section over again.... actually let me see what post number we are on so that I can pick a memorable number to post the whole chart on that way. I'm sure seeing the whole thing makes it easy. Meanwhile on the home front - never thought I'd be gone from here so long!! too busy and back not resolved... this too shall pass!

No one posted since my last post this morning... I know there have been a few times that people have asked me to show them how to applique points. I won't say I make the best points by any stretch! What I will say is that I am fortunate to have two amazing friends who are among "the best" master quilters around - Rita Verroca and Margarete Heinisch. Almost every stitch is done by hand. I'm not exactly sure if the following link will get you to the tutorial I had posted on the last Dear Jane thread. If it does not, you need to go to the 2012-2013 dear Jane Stickle 2d cyber party and look for post #2190-3. [I decided to put together the tutorial late in the making of Jane - for block J10] If you take a few minutes to read some of the posts just before and after that post you will find a couple of other links. There is an excellent paper piecing link as well.

Thanks for the tutorial on the applique. I also appreciate the schedule for June to August! Now that I'm back from my trip maybe I can actually work on some of the projects on the to-do list!

Spartan Quilter, your tris look great. Are you hand or machine quilting them? And, have you done the quilt-as-you-go technique before? I have only done it once and I was a little disappointed in my results. I am attempting it again with DJ. I am using a perle cotton and doing it by hand. I like the results and it's going quickly. The only part I don't like is hand stitching the batting sections together. I don't like the process and I am worried it won't stay together once the quilt is done.

All blocks look wonderful - you are movin along!! some are bound to catch up with me because I don't seem to be able to get back to it!
SheriR - your points are perfect - I don't understand why you redid Papa's star though? It looked like the first one was identical to Jane Stickle's Brenda's sketch is simplified by putting the star in a more even centered position, but Jane's is skewed.... mine is too. All your stars look great - don't discard the original one though
