After a day of shopping I ended up finding three new fabrics to add in. First Picture is my original fabric picks but I didnt have enough of the blue so went shopping for a blue and then also a better contrast fabric for the E/F combination.

I found three new fabrics which matched with the B/C Fabrics. I found a white that had silver dots in it that match the silver running through the B/C fabrics and then also found a matching grey with silver dots running through it. The dark blue fabric I picked up I moved into the E/F fabrics ? Im wondering if I should go ahead and stay with my original E/F fabrics?? Thoughts. ?

These are the new fabric choices?

What should I flip flop or replace?

I was whining about spending more money on fabric, after improving the economy in Texas at Hobby Lobby and Hancocks, so my dear friend rfbrazell sent me a pile of holiday themes. What a great guy!

Funny - I also save for dog beds. What's funny is I made a test bed for my doxie last evening and as I was stuffing the scraps, he decided he wanted to play with the scraps (???? don't know why, guess all those scraps looked like fun). So, stuffing his bed was more fun than not LOL

When he decided he was done playing, he laid on it -- still trying to get the stuffing in. I had to get him a little treat to get him off it then put it on the sofa to finish. He ate his treat, looked at me then sat up as if to say "Mom, I want my new bed back".

I got up to get the needle and thread to sew it shut and when I got back, he was up on the sofa, laying on the bed. So I had to sew it shut while he was laying on it.

Guess he likes his new bed LOL

I like the first combo better of the blue and whites but then that is because it would be a true blue/white quilt which are so peaceful to me. The second works really well too so I think either would make a nice quilt in the end.

The feather fabric I feel you on cutting up something that is very precious to us but then again we did buy it for a reason right? to make something with it oneday? I think you will be happy you are using it that way you can now save for a new special fabric to hang onto for a while.

maybe I am new here who is Robert? and Sustraley that hat is absolutely adorable on the little one. I see knit hats all the time, little turkey hats, candy corn hats and I wish I could crochet something like that. Of course I would need a little one to crochet for. Just finished a sherbet colored scarf for my granddaughter. Fringe or no fringe? I am unsure what the kidlets are wearing these days. any one know? she just turned 8.

There is a bit of a learning curve to it, I didn't buy the book and the sheet that came with the ruler only showed how to cut from 2-1/2" strips. There is a line on the ruler that you put the seam line on, each line says what size block you will make, each size is a different width. If your strips are too wide, you get a funny notch out of the upcoming block or else have to do an extra cut to stay away from it.
Exactly what I did Judy. Three 5 inch strips cut WOF. The ruler I used is the Fons & Porter half and quarter ruler. I think (note to self) that in the future I would cut the strips perhaps a quarter inch larger in order to square up the blocks perfectly. Mine are a smidge off of perfect but sometimes bias is a good thing. BTW, how do you press your seams? I pressed mine open.

Jenniky - I like your new dark blue that you labeled F. I think I agree with the comment about a blue and white quilt. Do you have enough of the old E to make it the new D?

CarolineS - the more I think of it, when I was experimenting with the new ruler, I tried to cut them 5-1/4 but made them too wide and needed to keep nipping off a piece before cutting a new block. But I think I made them 5-1/8" - seeems silly, but it was better.

Elisabrat--crochet all you want and sell them. Don't need a little one to enjoy your hobby.
Here are mine. Decided to do a fall theme. Did half of them last night and the rest today. My son's girlfriend had a birthday party for him last night. So couldn't get them done. It is going to be a long, long week until next Saturday. Judy, how much backing will we need for this? Thought maybe I could look for something now. Thanks so much for doing another mystery.

Hmmm, since I have a lot of my B fabric, at least 10 yards-60 inches wide, I am going to use your 5 1/8" strip width suggestion. Likely will end up making 2 quilt tops since the first clue went so fast. I might go back and purchase some more of my A fabric. Kicking myself now that I did not buy more.

I find Jenniky's first fabric choices more visually pleasing. Not sure about the D grey in the second choice, it reads darker than D in the picture. Perhaps a very light blue small scale print or mottle??
