Labeelady and grandme26 I am so sorry to hear of your recent bouts of trouble. I sure hope they are behind you now and that you can have a smoother ride on into November.

The process I believe is A is lighter than B. C is darker than D. B should look ok next to C and EF are to match one of the pairs a/b or c/d. they are to make things pop so it seems one dark one light and bold. I have yet to decide on E and F just working on the first four. Judy said ok until week 5 so I am good for now for another.. two weeks come tomorrow. I think if you look at it that way its not so hard do part to start and see how your feeling about your e/f as your going ..unless you live in the woods like me you wont need more than a week to order something online. I love the choices however coming up. A couple small tweeks and really just keep those simple rules above in mind and you should be happy. No large prints just small or medium was the other rule. If your questioning is it a large print its a large print most likely and maybe find something a bit smaller so you wont lose the pattern/overall color when cut.

So until Judy is back guess we have to trust our own instincts. Lucky part is its only so many parts per week so if you hate what your doing, back to square 2 or 1 isnt that far back. Jeanie G love your signature.. I guess I have not made nearly enough quilts yet in my life. Phew!

No! And I've missed Amelia's so much this past year. What I thought was our only remaining LQS often isn't open when I can get there and doesn't carry a lot of the traditional fabric that I prefer.

Good morning everyone. I was in contact with Judy last night. She had a bad spasm in her back. She is doing much better and is in rehab. Do not know yet when she will be home. Luckily todays clue is easy. If she is not home by next week she may have to postpone the next clue. I will try to keep you updated but she cannot get to a computer often.

CLUE 3

Make 24 HST using the same directions as last week only using fabrics C/D. Blocks will be 6 1/2" square.

HEY I GOT THEM YIPPEE before I left the house at that! Thank you very much for the new instructions and also please pass on from all of us (speaking for all) that we wish her well soon and that she recovers enough in rehab to start functioning regularly again. I am so sorry she has to go there at all. Lots of work getting things back where they are supposed to be.

Grandme26 - Oh My !! Glad you're starting to feel better but can't believe you're on the computer after all you've been through. Take care of yourself. I'm saving the steps right now but trying to find time to be able to join the ride.

PokerDiva - Tell Judy we're sending our well wishes.

If anybody talks to Judy can you please ask her this question?

I have a new neighbor teenage girl who is interested in learning to make a quilt.

I know she can handle clues 1-3 but unsure of how difficult the rest is going to be.

Please ask if the rest of the instructions are going to be really complicated.

Thanks

P.S. I want her to learn so much that I'm PIF a very simple machine to her. Yes it is old and only does straight stitch and zig zag. But so far for quilting I only use straight stitch. Maybe I should just suggest to mom - the jenome hello kitty or wait till black friday. What do you think?

Karen, I will ask her but if the last mysteries Judy has done are any indication. I think it will be fine especially if you are there to help her but I will still ask.

Karen, if the girl can handle HSTs, then she will be fine, IMO. As far as a machine goes, if the older one sews well, oil and clean and it will be better than any new one in the lower price range. Personally, I prefer a straight stitch only for piecing. I think you will find several of us here sewing on vintage machines, especially Singer 301s and 15s.
