there is a farm just a few miles from me that makes rhubarb wine - actually two types, a sweet version and a dry version. They also make red raspberry , blackberry and currant wines, plus red and white grape wines- oh, fiddle, now I want to go over there and see if they're open so I can get some. I could bring some of their wines, and my pumpkin butter, maybe some of my dark chocolate raspberry truffles -I'm going out with two other QB members next Saturday to a super-duper quilt store to find fabrics to go with the one I chose - actually it's the one I got in the ugly fabric swap, except it's not ugly, just wasn't someone else's taste, but I love it! I may just get the fabrics and work on the mystery once I finish my Boom squares - but I'll pop onto the train whenever I can - woowooo!

Greetings ladies!!! Happy Mother's Day! DH took Mom and I out for supper last night. Was so nice to avoid the hassle today. I looked at fabric this morning and I think I have come up with fabrics for the new mystery. I will post a picture as soon as I can.DH cleaned out all the old canes from the raspberries and now I'm going to get the rest of the beds cleaned. Mom is eating lunch so will wait until she can come outside and sit. It is so sunny and nice outside - wow what a wonderful day.The way it looks now I'm going with DH to San Jose in June. Does anyone know anything about the quilt museum there? The ladies have a tour of it on one afternoon. Talk soon. Everyone have a wonderful day!!!

I wanna play! I have not done a mystery quilt on this board before, but my LQS is sponsoring a 6 month mystery that I'm doing - we are on month #3.

Please tell me if these fabrics will work. One picture is of the 5 I first pulled out - in order from left to right A - E. Then I thought there might be too much brown so I pulled out the mottled pink. So ... print out my ticket to ride, please!

JanTX-love your fabrics. I think they all work!! Still thinking...but leaning towards a "girl" quilt in pinks with yellow and peach colors. Won't decide till I get home though around the 25th!!

JanTx - your ticket is printed and you are invited to the club car any time you can work it into the schedule. I'm a fan of your colors. 6 months of mystery - wow that is a wonderful experience. We had a hard time getting clues every 2 weeks. Jen the coffee cake sounds wonderful along with the raspberry tea. Rhubarb wine - well we'll try anything once. I usually mix my wine with diet pop (DD hates to watch me do it - she says I spoil the wine), so will bring some pop along also. I did notice the neighbor has a big patch of rhubarb in her back yard. And she isn't the baking type, so I might ask for some.

Made a big boo boo on the baby blanket that I was trying to FMQ. So now I have to think about what I'm going to do with that also. My new machine didn't come - darn. So hoping the first of this week.

Take care ladies -

Six months of mystery may sound wonderful - and it's my first one, so what do I know? But ... it's a long time between clues. The first two had very little to do. I'm working on clue 3 tonight and it has more. I find I lose interest in between!

Here's what I've done so far...

Everose....can it be covered with applique......balloons wild and free, streaking across the quilt with ribbons flying loose

balloons are the eaisest to applique and you could use real ribbons and sew them on both sides down so not a chocking hazzard
