Thanks for the compliments. Twin Harbor, I love your color combinations! I'm still struggling with colors that go together. Lol!

I only read enough of the directions for The Farmer's Daughter block to verify the individual block sizes and thought it only had 3 colors. I really don't set a very good example for students, do I? I may use this experience as a connection story about reading all the directions first during my substituting days this week.

I tried out a variety of colors and prints and finally looked at my card making color cards and it said 'Near Navy' for a color near the mottled dark pink. I'm happy with that 4th color now.

Connie , you are not the only one that doesn't read the directions all the way before cutting... I have had to start over so many times. You would think we would learn. Love your colors. I am going to start my flower pot in a few min. Have a great day

Is it the lighting from the camera or did you turn the fabric the wrong way...Love those colors so bright...

    All done

My blocks are done. I will admit I didn't use the speed method on the farmer's daughter block. The speed method seems like more work to me. As most of you know I am new to sewing. I am happy with the way my blocks turned out. Cold and rainy here today , so it was a good day to get them done.

You and me both Belfrybat. I started a job that didn't work out, got some bad news, and I'm also trying to get quilts done for soon-to-be here twin great-nephews along with their grandma's chemo quilt (the bad news). Just need to organize my time a little better. The February/March blocks are cut, one complete, but I'll catch up soon. Everyone's blocks look fantastic!

Great blocks this month Cheezehead !! I just got back from an out of state wedding and visiting family. Can't wait to start my blocks. Thought I would share what I made for my sisters sewing group. They always let me sew with them when I am visiting. This is what I took down to them. They are spool pin dresden plates.

Glad I am not the only one that seems slow on the draw this month. Everyone's blocks so far look nice. Interesting pattern. I was thinking no one was working on them this month as I had not gotten any emails of activity on this thread. I am subscribed to it but for some reason not getting the notices, so was happy to see progress being done. I just unsubscribed and redid it, see if that works. Keep up the good work everyone. Hopefully with taxes out of the way this weekend, I can get back to my quilting catch up.

I have found the only way to receive an email notification to this board it to check on it often, and reply.

Hi gals.. The chit chat has been sparse - guess everyone's busy making their blocks..lol (well a gal can hope, huh?) When there's not a lot of activity, you won't get a notice, so just check your email off and on during the day to see if something has been posted.

Well fudge !! My basket block came out at only 10 inches............I think I will wait to see how much fabric I have at the end before redoing. Might just add a border to it.
