Default New Quilting Bee, September, 2017

Happy Labor Day weekend all. Can you believe it's September? Seems this year has just flown by..

Here are the blocks for September, hope you enjoy them. There are 10 1/2" unfinished blocks. Be sure to post pictures when you do them, always like eye-candy. Have any of you decided on a layout yet? Ideas on finishing? Post your ideas, I'm sure everyone would like to enjoy your ideas. I know a lot are busy, but do hope your blocks don't end up being UFO's. Well have fun with these blocks, looking forward to seeing your choices.

Here is my Goshen Star from another set of blocks. Now I need to make one from Batiks. Also love the other new block.

Thanks for the new blocks! I really like them! Of course, I think that with all of the selections.

JustJan: Pretty block.

Since I am making my blocks into baby quilt tops as soon as I have enough of them for the top I am working on, mine won't be UFO's unless I decide to try some FMQ on them. Lol!

Very pretty Jan. I like your sense for colors. It is amazing to me how you can use just the cremes and reds to make this block so stunning. Very nice!

What fun blocks! These look interesting and challenging for me. I know I will get them done before the end of the month, but right now I have another top I am working on.

I have laid my blocks out a couple of times and the two that have always bothered me color-wise just do not work. I will probably re-do those when I go to make the top. I think I have about a dozen blocks made, that is exciting for a new quilter:-)

I haven't thought about my layout yet. On point would be nice but I've never actually completed a quilt that was on point. I love the two choices for this month. We're on the way to see my mom and celebrate my birthday this weekend so I'll have to begin next weekend hopefully. Have fun everyone. I can't wait to see everyone's blocks!

I really love the look of blocks on point. My second quilt that I made was Storm at Sea and I did it on point. I am planning this one to go on point as well. This might turn out to be an actual quilt. The other 3 quilts I have made have all been wall hangings. Hmm, maybe I can use a couple of the blocks I don't really like to fill in the goofy little areas that happen on point.
