Just think of it as a teaching/learning opportunity -- how much one beginning quilter can ACTUALLY get done in 3 weeks (her, not you!) Hope she wants 9-patches and not double wedding rings!

Diane, My oldest grandaughter (9yrs) is getting a sewing machine for Christmas. Her mom goes and tells her grandma can help you make doll clothes for the American girl doll. Who is going to teach me???? She loves to help with quilts and has one started here now. Anyone care to give me any pointers on making doll clothes.

There is a wonderful Etsy Shop full of American girl clothes. You can look there for ideas. I think I'd start out with a pattern to learn how and then move on from there.

I think Simplicity has patterns for American Girl Dolls. Cut your pieces a tab bit bigger than the pattern just in case your seam isn't that perfect 1/4 inch

Between Triangles I've been working on these.

My room has lousy light in the evening for taking pictures. It's actually Christmas prints each with a touch of gold to them. Will be finished out as a table cloth for my Godfather/Uncle

WIP my version of the "Button Tree" pattern. Still need to add the buttons, lol. I have a collection of mini ornaments that will hang on it when it's done.

So is everyone ready for step 4? Glad I had a day to clean the house and catch up on the wash.

I saw Bonnie's post over on Facebook that this Mystery is going to be 8 or 9 parts. She said it's not because it's that big or that many parts, it's that she is breaking it down into smaller bits for us.

I don't have all of part 1 done but it will get there. I probably won't even be able to look at part 4 until sometimes Saturday. Tomorrow is our monthly drive for hours around the Charlotte area picking up donations for the pet charity I work with. I belong to an internet group called Freecycle (they have them in lots of cities, think craigslist, but not as many weirods, lol) We re-use lots of stuff that people get rid of. Will also be picking up clothes and gifts that have been donated to the kids of some of clients. Busy weekend!!

Insomnia Sucks! Been flipping and flopping most of the night while DH snored. Sometimes you just wanna smack 'em!!

http://quiltville.blogspot.com/ Part 4 is up!!! Strings again. Get to work in my main color , purple. These are easy enough I should be able to get Part 1 finished by the end of the week as well.

Don't forget to post your pictures over on the http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...d-t168881.html

I don't have my Late DH to blame anymore, but I have been tossing and turning all night too. I am going to try one more time to sleep. I just really hate this not sleeping!!!
